The physicians are compassionate, professional and experts in Bipolar Disorder. Dr. Galynker is an amazing doctor as well as a good person. He is highly intelligent with exceptional diagnostic skills. He can detect when his patients are “off” and asks questions. He is well versed in the mind, mental health, brain chemistry and what medications to prescribe (and more importantly, what medications will likely cause adverse reactions). He understands people and has a very unique perceptive. He got to know me and remembered what you told him in prior sessions. It was during a difficult time in my life that I met him. The unique “whole family” approach that he has established, although unusual, gives all of us access to him. Seeing him was a game changer.I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Galynker. He genuinely cares about me and my well being. He changed my life and my family for the better and I will be forever grateful to him.

At the age of 64, after decades of psychiatric care and still wondering why I couldn’t find more joy in my life on a regular basis, I had the extraordinary good fortune of meeting Dr. Galynker. His capacity to listen, learn, and relate are truly remarkable. This center is amazing. The doctors viewed me as a person not a disease. I entered at a time of crisis and the staff spent the whole day with me to ensure the diagnose was correct. They also spoke extensively with my mother to establish my baseline since I was a new patient. The doctors also knew that my mother was going to provide care and allowed me to go home vs the hospital.

After several decades of trying to find a sustainable treatment of my bipolar disorder, I settled with the notion that it will never happen. Doctor Igor Galynker is a god sent . After three (3) hospitals, piling medications, we lost hope. My husband was getting worse and worse. Medications caused problems walking and multiple falls. Last fall in March of 2019 ended in the emergency room and fear to walk by himself. I was forced to accompany him to all visits, even for a hair cut. First we have learned about Doctor from our internist. Then, we got recommendations from other specialist. They said that Dr. Galynker is top of the top. Our first visit was in June of 2019. Dr Galynker is a brilliant psychiatrist with 30+ years of experience who cares deeply about his patients. I came to him a few weeks into my first manic episode after being misdiagnosed by my primary care physician and given the wrong medication by another psychiatrist. On my first visit, Dr Galynker diagnosed me correctly and gave me the right kinds of medication.One of the initial reasons I chose Dr Galynker is that my girlfriend and I liked the idea of a family-oriented approach. We learned what a great system it is from the very beginning. During the intake evaluation, when I kept rambling off on tangents, my girlfriend was there to give to coherent answers to Dr Galynkers questions. After the first meeting, he set up a group text where we could ask questions and give updates. Later, when I was hospitalized, Dr Galynker took the time late on the weekend to explain to my girlfriend what would happen and helped allay her concerns.Bipolar mania is a constantly moving target, and it often requires a bit of experimentation. A good psychiatrist will know how to apply a textbook solution. A great psychiatrist will also know when and how to experiment. When my mania broke through the medication, it had some typical symptoms along with some highly atypical psychedelic features. The typical symptoms responded well to the initial dose of medication. Dr Galynker then spent a week texting and calling to make sure the atypical symptoms didnt get out of control while we adjusted my medications. The experimenting worked. I havent had any manic symptoms in almost three months.If you or a loved one is suffering from bipolar disorder, I highly recommend making an appointment with Dr Galynker.

Last spring I entered a severe mixed bipolar episode. I was in a very dark place and hitting one brick wall after another. From the moment Krystel picked up the phone, I knew I was finally going to get the treatment I needed. Luckily I met Dr. Galynker about 15 years ago. After having been miss diagnosed a few times and “at my wits end” I took a chance with Dr. Galynker. He put me on right medications and correctly diagnosed me with bipolar disorder. Now many years have passed since I had been hospitalized. Best treatment option in the NYC tri-state area for Bipolar. After over a decade of shuffling through bad doctors I finally found this place and have stayed with them for a few years now. I travel in monthly from Long Island, its worth it despite the distance. Doctors can also do skype or phone checkups if you are too busy to come in. My original doctor, Zimri Yaseen -- a fantastic doctor -- now works for the FDA on approvals and research into new bipolar medication in D.C, and Konstantin Nikiforov, my new doctor, is excellent as well.

Their billing system is THE WORST. They have been uncooperative for more than two years, as I continue to try to get reimbursed for multiple times we paid out of pocket when all along the MD my daughter saw was in network. They still have a lot of $$ we paid, and I still dont get a straight answer, nor any $$ back! INFURIATING!
