Dr Pastore is truly professional. He is friendly, did not rush my appointment, listened to everything I had to say and answered my questions without rushing me. He went over my previous tests and diagnosis carefully. We discussed my medical diagnosis and prognosis again no rush.Explained that all test results should be completed in about two weeks and that his office will get in touch with me to schedule a meeting to discuss the test results. He told me that he could discuss the results via Zoom, on the phone or that I could come to his office.He gave me a sense of comfort and trust.I would highly recommend him.

I referred very good friends to this doctor based on his previous reviews. He has promised to call this family on a serious matter each night for a week and never once followed up. ( even after the patient begging for a response )Either he is too busy, very disorganized or prioritizes which clients get high priority.Any which way - a doctor that is too busy to follow up with clients should be avoided at all costs.

He understood my issue (iron defiency for years, even after taking a total of 135 mgs of slow-release iron every day). next step is to get bunch of tests OTHER than the search for GI bleeding, for which much has been done & more planned already.I will need to get list of tests prescribed & results before I really know what the score is but initial impression is thumbs up

I was referred to Dr. Pastore by a physician at another hospital when a pre-op blood test revealed a clotting issue that required a hematological consult. Dr. Pastore took great pains to explain the issue raised by the prior blood test, ordered a series of more directed tests, and called me the next evening immediately after the results came in. He explained the problem (fairly complex) and the solution (fairly simple) clearly and logically. No jargon. Although I was a brand new patient he treated me as though we had known each other for years.Dr. Pastore has stellar academic and practice credentials, and it became immediately obvious that he really knows his stuff. This is a doctor who obviously loves his profession and treats his patients with care and respect. I have never before been moved to actually write a review of a physician, and certainly not one with whom I have had a single brief encounter, but Dr. Doctor Pastore is such a remarkably kind human being that I welcome the opportunity to do so.

Talk about luck – I basically fell into Dr. Pastore’s office when I was stopped from getting an OK on a pre-op and was told I should see a hematologist. Boy, did I luck out. Dr. Pastore is so generous with his time, giving each patient as much time as he or she needs to ask questions and get answers. I truly never mind when I have to wait while he is meeting with someone else because I know that he will be there for me in the same way. He is compassionate, intelligent, and truly a delight to spend time with! While I am not thrilled getting my blood drawn, I’m always delighted to talk with Dr. Pastore.

As always, doctor is attentive, asks questions that are relevant while he listens carefully to the answers. As my oncologist for 6 years, I have chosen to bremain his patient because of his amazing knowledge and kind bedside manner.

After reading all the very positive comments about Dr. Pastore, I scheduled an appointment with him in March. Unfortunately, despite an already existing diagnosis that requires life-long treatment he and his staff have not given me a single dose of my medication in spite of several requests from my side. Taking into consideration that my disease is considered lethal without treatment, I cant even describe in words my frustration and anger about the way I have been treated. To me Dr. Pastore appeared as a doctor who promises the world and in the end, doesnt care about his patients. Not to mention that I wasnt even able to get a hold of his staff for 1.5 weeks because their phone line didnt work and they didnt respond to my online request for an appointment. Definitely not recommended!

This was my first appointment with Dr. Pastore & from the moment i arrived at the welcoming reception area & after a very short time was ushered into the pristine exam & treatment area by the PA (physicians assistant) I was totally relaxed and at ease. Dr. Pastore has a calm, warm personality and it was obvious that he had reviewed my extensive case file ( no unnecessary questions about medications & medical history) and focused on the issuesthat had brought me there and his plan for dealing with them in the mostefficacious manner possible. The doctors very precise examination followed by specific blood samples left no doubt in my mind that Dr. Pastorewas committed to finding a solution to my problem.

Friendly man, but was not proactive in advising me to remove my Greenfield filter asap. Saw him for years, and I learned its only a temporary bridge to be used for a few months. Drs in hematology dept. at WC couldnt believe I still had it in my chest, due to the potential for very serious complications.Also, at the time I saw him, office waits were 1 hour or more. Although he never rushed, and seemed to care.

Dr. Raymond Pastore has been my hematologist since 2015. He and his entire staff are a joy to be with the two,three times I see them. Dr Pastore is now the director of blood disorders. Dr Pastore is an amazing physician,when I met him he charmed me with his jovial personality and cool demeanor. At this time,he was more into his private practice,sharing an office with another doctor an oncologist. His patients received infusions in a room separate from the reception area.I think he was teaching at Weill Cornell part of the time. As a teacher myself,I appreciated the feelings of closeness he created this first visit with me. Appointments were met in a timely fashion. In time ,I witnessed many patients,most with very serious illinesses. Each of us were treated to a reception area that provided us with top of the line beverages,a library of relevant books and magazines provided to cause the wait to be pleasurable. Most of us were elderly. I suffer from conditions caused by three whole knee replacements,one a pulmonary embolism and deep vain thrombosis. I also have R/A and suffer chronic pain.Dr Pastore makes me feel secure,taking the fear out of the possibility of dying from internal bleeding. He is the son of a hematologist,a graduate of I think Princeton another top notch medical school and residences. His staff loves working with him,I know because I see precision team work over these five years. Before he left private practice to teach at the college,he actually would take calls from patients. Well those days are long gone as his position now as Director of Blood Disorders and faculty member and personal physician to patients ,he does not have much time for telephone calls from patients. Now, he has a nurse practioner to do such tasks and to assist him with the trememdous number of patients who like I will never think of leaving him.Dr Pastore visits with each patient and sometimes family members in his private office. My disorder is not as serious as many of his patients. Once I could not get my zarelto because of insurance denials. He actually sent me samples this medicine by one of his assistants who lived near me in Brooklyn. Once I had a problem at the New York University Dental School and he took the the time to write a very thorough letter that solved the problem. There is more I could say here but,I think you have gotten the point. Dr Raymond Pastore is a special physician because he is a special man whom I am fortunate to call my doctor. He is the best of the best!
