Dr Harary has been my doctor for the past 33 years. He’s super smart and thinks out of the box. He saved my cousin’s life when she was 18 and discovered she had cancer just from a weak cough. (This is 30 yrs ago).He’s very thorough and always refers you to the top specialists for your issue. As a gastroenterologist he’s simply the best.

The office is very organized since procedures normally follow office visits. The office manager/ receptionist has a written set of protocols that are distributed to all patients.Dr. HARARY during office visits answers questions about all diagnoses, prescribed medication, and has a good rapport with patients. During procedures, he is kind and supportive, and a skilled practitioner.Have your colonoscopy with this practice. The expertise is evident.

The review strictly concerns what seems to be a misdiagnosis and wrong treatment of my diarrhea. Dr. Harary told me I had Crohns and put me on steroid and a biologic drug with intravenous injection. After about a year my situation was much worse with pains throughout my stomach that I have never experienced before. And then a MRI enterography found no evidence of inflammatory bowel disease. Yet still Dr. Harary recommended me to continue with the biologic drug injection or increase the frequency of the injection. Then I went to an IBD center and was examined by a renowned, top ranked IBD specialist in the US and the conclusion was no signs of Crohns. What I actually had was SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth) which was easily identified with a breath test. I am doing much better now with the right treatment and diet. SIBO seems to be manifest with a lot of people who have IBS. Given that IBS or SIBO is much more prevalent than IBD, I wonder why Dr. Harary didnt rule out those possibilities before going directly for IBD. Actually other gastroenterologists I met expressed the view that the biopsies back then was acute inflammation, not the chronic type associated with Crohns. So I dont really understand why he was so sure I had Crohns. Lessons learned: if a doctor tells you that you have a serious disease, you need at least another opinion before getting on a treatment with potentially very serious side effects.

I gave Dr Harary 5 stars because that’s all that were available. If 10 stars was the highest rating I’d give that to him.He’s very thorough. Asks all the right questions and is definitely concerned. There’s no in and out rush act. My procedure was over before I knew it began. I constantly called with questions and he always responded. If you want a great knowledgeable doctor “go no farther”

Dr. Harary is an excellent doctor. He takes the time to fully evaluate the patient’s condition despite the pathetically low contracted insurance rates. I have complete confidence in his level of care.
