My dog loves it here. The staff are so friendly and sincerely happy to see the dogs every time they come in, and they’re very communicative if something goes wrong (eg, a dog gets sick). Can’t recommend them highly enough. They also have a convenient way to schedule overnight boarding.

They took both of my clients dogs in, had them well past closing, didnt tell me to come later so was outside waiting in the cold for 2 hours. Then I finally get the Green light to pick them up, only to find out only one dog was serviced. And was simply told that ill have to make another appointment for the other one.

We have been bringing our standard poodle to Ruby and Jacks for daycare and grooming for a few years now and have had nothing but a positive experience!! I felt the need to post this review because I saw a few negative comments from people who did not have direct experience sending their dog here.Our dog is like a family member to us and we would never leave him anywhere that we didnt think he liked or where we thought he was mistreated. The Ruby and Jacks staff treat our dog like their own and greet him by name and with open arms every time we bring him in. He literally drags me inside and jumps up on his favorite staff when he arrive. Dogs are pack animals and like being around other dogs and Ruby and Jacks provides a warm, clean, and safe environment for dogs of all shapes and sizes to do just that!! Cant recommend enough.

I went here to see if I would be able to drop off my dog while I’m at work. My job is literally down the block from here so it would of been awesome but I was not happy with the fact that they have a huge room with one person sitting inside the room with 20 dogs. Poor dogs looked so sad and in my opinion if you are going to pay for your dog to be cared for definitely don’t leave them here. Some looked fine while others looked mortified, I just couldn’t imagine paying for someone to just lock my dog in a room with one person. Might as well just keep my dog at home where he’s comfortable!

Take both our dogs there for boarding while we are on vacation. Prices are competitive with similar services, staff is very friendly to us and our dogs love them. The webcam is also nice so when you have downtime you can see your dogs play (or in the case of our blonde dog, shadow the supervising human and beg successfully for belly rubs)

Ive used Ruby and Jacks for several years for daycare, grooming and dog-walking. I love the place. Great friendly staff, real dog-lovers.Im writing this partly because there are one or two negative reviews posted that are completely the opposite of my experience. A bad incident can happen anywhere, and the business doesnt exist that will get 100 percent rave notices. But I feel very good about entrusting my pups to Ruby and Jacks.

I went here for my dog therapy orientation and training. My dog has never stayed but, I would let my dog stay there. The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. The dogs were very happy and taken well care of there.

So glad to have Ruby & Jacks Doggy Shack in the neighborhood. Right now our dog goes there for daycare most days. The facility is state-of-the-art and the owners and staff are attentive, friendly, professional - there arent enough good adjectives to describe them. I absolutely trust them with our dog.

We wouldnt take our pup anyplace else! Ruby and Jacks is wonderful. We know our dog will be well taken care of and safe while we are away. We are always greeted with warm smiles from the staff and the facilities are clean.

Hands down, the best Doggy Day Care on the UES.... And I interviewed a lot of them. These guys were the only ones to let me see EVERY part of the place on my tour. My doggie is a somewhat aggressive player and they work with him to find the right run to be in. He loves it there and they treat him and every dog like a star!

Left my dog there overnight for five days. Paid extra to have her walked daily. When I emailed while away, I was told she was doing great. When I picked her up, her bum was so filthy. I was surprised but didnt say anything. At home I cleaned her up and saw that she had been scooting so much to try to remove the dried feces, she had a sore. I had to take her to vet. When I emailed R&J about it, I was told I should have bought a box of wipes from them and asked them to clean her bum! Or should have scheduled a grooming while she stayed there. How could I have anticipated shes have wet poos from stress. Is it not their job to care for the dogs they board? Nobody apologized. Later I saw my CC bill and had to ask them to email me an itemized bill. They have poor customer service and ignore the basic necessities of your pet. Dont leave your dog there! Do not be fooled by their story of how the place is named after their dogs... blah blah blah. As far as I am concerned, they did not care for my dog.

One of the nicest, cleanest dog boarding and daycare centers in the city. They even have webcams so you can watch your dog play during the day and sleep at night. Prices are reasonable as well.

Very impressed with Ruby & Jacks. All the staff are very friendly and professional. They were happy to give me a tour with no notice and answer all my questions. The facility is spotless and has a state-of-the-art cleaning system. It didnt smell at all (an amazing feat with many dogs around). They have webcams in the play areas so you can check in on your dog, and were also happy to give me an update on my pup when I called in. They have private sleeping cubbies for the dogs that stay overnight, so you can bring your dogs favorite bed/toys/etc. to make them more comfortable. They have a fridge to store special food/food additives if needed. Theyre also cheaper than the facility I used previously. I am so happy to have Ruby & Jacks nearby.

I would never send my dog here again. For many reasons, but among them is that this is not a transparent pet service company. They are not up front about the details of what goes on under their care, and when pressed for more information they become defensive and try to cloud the facts of the situation.But most importantly, during his brief stay at Ruby & Jacks, my dogs life was endangered in at least two occasions:1. He was attacked on the playfield, and none of the staff noticed or intervened until his collar had been completely chewed off by another dog. I was not called when this happened. I had to call R&J the next day to ask where his collar was. It was only then that they were able to piece together their story. During the attack, my dogs MicroChip ID tag was detached from the collar. When I went to pick it up, it was on the front desk in a paper clip drawer. They would have completely lost it if I hadnt asked. They say this is because the MicroChip had no identification. But then I ask, how many dogs lost their microchip that day due to a collar incident? If mine was the only dog who had his collar chewed off on the play field that day, wouldnt it be reasonable to assume that the microchip belonged with his collar?Of course, the details of the incident are cloudy because Ruby & Jacks refuse to show me the surveilliance tape. I have to ask, why would a kennel ever want to be anything less than 100% transparent?2. When they transported by dog home in the van, he was not wearing his collar. They forgot to put it back on him. This means that my dog was in a van without his NYC ID, his Rabies ID, my contact information, or his microchip tag. What if something awful had happened and hed gotten loose? He would have had no ID, and we would have lost him.Bottom line, the staff here is incompetent, unkind, and un-empathetic. When I aired these complaints, I was told that I wasnt a good fit to come back to R&J (as if I ever would want to!) because my standards were too high. If you are like me and have high standards for your dogs overnight care, DO NOT send your dog to Ruby & Jacks!!!!

I send my cat here for boarding. They are always very accommodating, the facilities are clean, and he has plenty of room to move around.

Great, caring staff. This place is the only place I trust to leave my dogs overnight.
