Dr. Kaplan took over on a difficult root canal that my regular, very skilled dentist could not handle. He saw me immediately, treated me painlessly in his very clean comfortable offices, where all of the staff were friendly and efficient. Covid-19 protocols were followed. On my second visit the operation was completed quickly and without anesthesia (my option). I would recommend Dr. Kaplan highly.

Living 3 hours away from New York City and retired I have been visiting a local dentist for cleaning and exams. When a problem arose with a tooth my local dentist hesitated to treat it as it had a previous filling and a bridge connected to it. He was concerned the roots may have calcified and be hard to locate resulting in removing the bridge and possibly the tooth. So I contacted my former dentist in New York City who recommended I see Dr Steven Kaplan, Endodontist. I called his office and received courteous response from his professional receptionists. An appointment was promptly scheduled, He reviewed my history, completed his exam and provided a detailed explanation of how he would penetrate through the bridge, saving it and the tooth. I was made very comfortable by his assistant throughout all the procedure. At no time did I feel any pain or discomfort. Often Dr Kaplan asked how I was doing throughout his work. Since the roots were calcified it required more than one visit to accomplish his work. Each was a pleasant experience and I was always the recipient of a follow-up telephone call from Dr Kaplan asking me how I was doing. My response each time was fine with no pain or problem. Dr Kaplan provided his personal cell phone number in case I needed to speak with him. Even though it takes me 3 hours to travel to see him, it was well worth it. Today it is so rare to find a dedicated professional and staff concerned for a patient and willing to make them feel so reassured and comfortable. I will be following up with Dr Kaplan as he requested to be certain all is going well with the tooth. I certainly recommend him for anyone who has a similar problem. He and his staff put the patient at ease and provide excellent treatment. Doctor Kaplan is the greatest!

I just went to the best root canal doctor in the country, if not the world. Dr. Steven Kaplan is a one of a kind. He is an expert and professional in his field, has a huge and funny personality, and is the ONLY doctor I will use if I ever have another root canal. And BTW, check him out on YouTube. One of the best dentists Ive ever met. Dr. Kaplan takes all the worry and fear out of a root canal and truly puts your mind at ease. Ive never had a dentist personally call to check in on me before and after a procedure - its most reassuring to have this level of caring. The staff at his practice are the kindest, and most courteous. The only downside is the wait time. It took about 40 minutes after I arrived for my procedure to get started. Thankfully, its a pleasant office environment and a fairly comfortable wait. I guess Dr. Kaplan is in high demand which is no surprise. :)

I am not a review writer normally. Dr. Kaplan is a rock star! I was referred by my primary dentist for a root canal. I showed up in Dr. Kaplans office in a bad mood and told him as soon as I got there, I needed to be out in an hour. Dr. Kaplan confirmed the infection with his amazing 3D X-Ray machine and proceeded to successfully do the work in 2 sessions with a minimum of discomfort or wasted time. Dr. Kaplan is a true blessing. I felt pain in my tooth on a Saturday and called him to ask him if I could make an appointment for that week. His office wasn’t open obviously that night and he told me to come to his house to his office in the basement. He immediately set it up and took care of me on the spot with the same cheer and joy he shows each day at the office. He followed up with me personally each week to see how my tooth was doing and when I came to his office to finish up the root canal i felt no pain whats so ever. He’s a miracle worker. It’s the most painless and joyful experience ever. He’s a rockstar!!

Cannot say enough good things about this office and Dr. Tran! Dr. Kaplan took much effort into finding out the source of my pain and helping resolve it. I came to him originally for one root canal and he also treated an infection under an old root canal done by another dentist. He performed a heroic root canal and saved my back tooth a few months ago.I had consulted with three other dentists and they all felt the tooth needed to be extracted. My root canal tooth was in a difficult position near the back so I decided to come to Dr. Kaplan after doing lots of research. He got me in very quickly to do an urgent root canal and was very accommodating with appointment dates. He is clearly very experienced in his field and also does a lot to try to make you feel better when you are nervous like I was and is quite funny! Him and his staff are all very friendly and made the process smooth and he makes sure to check up on you and make sure you are feeling ok after. Great!

My extremely meticulous regular dentist of 25+ years has handled some of my root canals himself, but for this latest one, he urged me to go Dr. Kaplan, the specialist to whom he entrusts his own mouth . Everyone with whom I dealt at this practice has been friendly, competent and extremely professional. My tooth was very infected (despite antibiotics), very painful, and my dentist was not certain it could be saved. Dr. Kaplan squeezed me into his very busy schedule, and, after 2 sessions and a different antibiotic , I have a pain-free tooth thats going to be with me a while longer. Highly recommend this practice if you are unfortunate enough to need a root canal. They are a pleasure to deal with.

Truly my first positive all around dental appointment. Everyone in the office was so nice and helpful. Dr Moosavi was especially helpful and understanding. Its hard for me to say it about a dentist visit, but it was pain free and a great experience.

I was in a lot of pain and they took me in on Sunday. Dr. Moosavi is very good. He also helped me on phone when I was in a lot of pain. I am very happy with the staff and doctor they are truly compassionate.

He is amazing. This is the only time Ive ever had a root canal without an injection,NO PAIN!!!!!!! He has a light touch, not a elephant in your mouth. Also, if you have any questions he is always available.

I had gone to 3 places before i arrived to dr. kaplan office was in agony with a newborn baby no one was able to relief my pain. i arrived there the helped me with my newborn and he worked for 1 hour on me i felt like a new person a new mom. i had called him a night before and he told me i should come in the next day. its been 5 years whenever i go to my local dentist for check up every time each nurse and dentist ask me who did these route canals . i had done 4 root canals by him . i highly recommend him! i get a free once a year great check up from him .thanks again Dr. kaplan no words

Dr Kaplan handled my root canal with great care and compassion. He checked out my tooth very carefully before proceeding in order to rule out other problems and avoid a root canal if possible. I was referred to Dr. Kaplan by my regular dentist. It was very easy to schedule and get an appointment asap. His staff is courteous and truly wants to help you and make your experience as pleasant as possible. Being a public figure it’s hard to find someone you trust with your teeth when you have an issue! Dr. Kaplan has given myself and my husband Joe the easiest pain free root canals in the world!! He is fast, makes you feel completely comfortable and most importantly it’s painless. There has never been an issue as I have had with previous Endodontists that have actually missed roots in the process. It’s much more spa like than medical in experience, perfect for anyone who is nervous for dental treatments!

Really glad I found Compassionate after my dentist told me I had to go to a specialist for my root canal. This was my first one so now that I am more familiar with the process, I would only get a root canal at an endodontist and never at a general. My case was not as straight forward as most root canals yet it never felt like I wasn’t in good hands. Everyone at the office including the front desk was super friendly and caring and it was comforting to see all precautions were being taken during COVID.

Dr. Steve did a root canal on my young grand daughter. She had been in pain for a while and no one could figure out what was wrong. He was amazing! He made her comfortable and allayed her fears, and fixed her problem. She even looked forward to her recall visit. He is great with kids!!!!

I came to see Dr. Kaplan for a root canal after experiencing severe pain in one of my teeth. Dr. Kaplan made time to see me THAT day vs other doctors who only were able to see me a few weeks out. The procedure was as painless as could be, Dr. Kaplan was very attentive, and continued to check up on me throughout the process (and even calling me on the weekend at home to see how I was doing). In addition, the entire staff at the office was just great.I couldnt recommend Dr. Kaplan or his staff any more for any type of dental work.

Greatest experience ever

I was in an indescribable amount of pain when I was referred to this office. Dr. Kaplan did a great job finding out which tooth caused the pain related to the large infection in my jaw. He took all of the necessary steps to stop the infection (including a root canal) and made himself available every step of the way. I was grateful I could text him if I had any problems. I’m glad I was referred to this office. I really appreciated the compassion the professionals in this office portrayed. I would highly recommend to anyone in an emergency situation (especially during such an uncertain time as this pandemic).

Dr. Kaplan is just remarkable. He performed a root canal to save one of my teeth which would have been pulled out as per consultations with two other dentists, he also performed an emergency root canal on another one of my teeth fixing another dentists errors. So his skills and talents are unmatched. But on top of that, he is kind, super conscientious and a wonderful human being. He is beyond professional and cares about his patients. He follows up to ensure your not in pain even on national holidays, and is always at the ready to help you. His practice earns a MINIMUM of 5 stars. Dr. Hoses in Moosaui was extremely professional, friendly, and efficient when he conducted my root canal. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Kaplan, I went to him because he has the best google reviews of any doctor in NYC and they were right!  My case was a bit complicated because my root canal was calcified causing me so much pain.When I came in he took his time with me, explained exactly what he was going to do, why and what I should expect.He managed to make the procedure more enjoyable by playing music for me and telling me jokes. Funny guy! He called me himself that night to make sure that I was feeling ok. Luckily, I did not have any pain because he is just that good.On top of that, his staff is very professional, friendly and attentive. Great experience overall. Dr. Kaplan is a very experienced endodontist who helped me with a tooth that was giving me problems for YEARS. I first had a root canal on the tooth 14 years ago, then 11 years later it started giving me issues again. My primary dentist referred me to another endodontist practice and they had to retreat it twice until it felt better. However, only 2 years later it started hurting me AGAIN. So I decided to visit Dr. Kaplan for a second opinion. He studied my x-ray scans thoroughly and found that my tooth had a fourth canal that wasnt addressed (at least thats what I think he told me!), explaining perhaps why I was still having problems. A few days after my second visit with Dr. Kaplan, my tooth felt so much better - as if nothing ever happened! And during my few days of recovery, he called me several times to see how i was doing. He is really a great and highly-skilled doctor who really cares about his patients wellbeing. Highly recommend!

Im not a big reviewer, but Dr. Kaplan is truly the best. His humor made my appointment *almost* fun. While I didnt end up needing a procedure, he personally called a periodontist to let him know my situation and got me an appointment there just before the holidays. I HATE going to any type of dentist, as I have had such terrible and mediocre experiences, particularly as a freelance artist, but Id go back there in a heartbeat. Its not cheap, but its worth it.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Lisa Tran! It is so scary when I heard that I need a root canal. I was so worried about the pain and also the cost!!! My dentist referred me to do it at Compassionate Endodontics. The practice is very clean and pretty. The purple color really calms me down. With my insurance, they paired me with Dr. Tran. She talked me through the whole procedure and how much I need to pay before the procedure to put my mind to ease. Dr. Tran was very good, I did not feel pain during the procedure, and very minor pain after the procedure. The best thing is that Dr. Tran texted me personally the next day to check on me to see how I was and if I have any concerns. The best experience I had with medical professionals!!! I will definitely recommend anyone I know who needs a root canal to go see Dr. Tran. Best dentist/endodontist I ever have!!!!

Dr. Kaplan lives up to his business name of Compassionate Endodontics. He was quickly diagnosed and treated two teeth that had been causing me pain for almost a year. I cant say enough about Dr. Kaplan. I was in agony and couldnt wait any longer. I called Dr. Kaplan, after seeing my dentist at 4PM and he and his office fit me into his chaotic schedule. He took me at 7PM and I left at 9 PM pain free. He also gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him, regardless of time, if I was in pain or had any issues. I didnt need to call him but it made me feel confident that he was there if I needed anything. He also called me first thing the next morning to check in on me. In todays world you dont get service like that anymore. I am now pain free and feeling great. He came through in an emergency and I highly recommend him..

I have never encountered a dental medical professional with the amount of skill, care, and compassion as Dr Kaplan. He literally spent hours and hours to save my tooth, and stayed in the office till very late at night when i was in a tremendous amount of pain to relieve the pain and save the tooth. He also has a fantastic medical assistant who is helpful and kind and efficient. I would never have a root canal done elsewhere in NYC, and neither should you.

I received the most excellent of service and care at Compassionate Endodontics. One day I needed to have an emergency root canal, and Doctor Kaplan stayed late into the evening so that he could treat me as quickly as possible, which I was grateful for as I was in an immense amount of pain and discomfort. He expertly answered all the questions I had for him (of which there were many), and made sure I completely understood the procedure and the aftercare. I never felt any pain or discomfort during the procedure, and during my follow up appointment I did not even need any anesthetic. Additionally, he made great conversation and ensured that I was comfortable throughout the process, even going as far as asking me if I would like to play my favorite kind of music during the procedure to calm me down. Truly the best dental care I have ever received, could not recommend more.
