I came across Eyes on Broadway totally randomly about 12 years ago when I first moved to the city (when I lived near by AND and when they were located further downtown). The staff was attentive and listened to me as one would to another person. I circled back again at the new location recently and the Greek lady was a gem. 💕 super helpful, wonderful and sweet, offered lots of information that I would not otherwise get from my (lousy) healthcare provider. This place is AMAZING. They don’t push you to spend money (like LITERALLY) every other place in the city does, they listen to what you need and provide EXACTLY what you need and give you ideas of how to move forward best. Can’t say enough good things about Eyes on Broadway. It’s so good to know 12 years later they are the same great people. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat 🙏🏽

My wife and I have been fans of Barry for 12 years. Initially, my wife came to Barry with an ophthalmologists prescription for two pairs of glasses, one for general use and the other for computer usage. The doctor told her that it was not possible to make do with one pair. Barry said nonsense, it can be accomplished in one pair. Sure enough Barry was correct and the lenses worked exceedingly well for distance, reading and computer usage. We have been happy clients ever since.

Office is disorganized.1) They mis-billed my insurance, and I had to spend hours of my time talking to my insurance company to get the situation resolved. Finally, the insurance company sided with me and had this place reverse their insurance claim.2) They made mistakes on the accounting of the purchase of my contact lenses and I had to complain to get a reimbursement.

This place delivers excellent service and offers an attention to detail that is based in industry experience and customer focus. These folks are the real deal and a Manhattan institution. I already had a go-to optician with whom I was very satisfied. But, I came here because they honored my companys vision plan and they were in the neighborhood. They also did not carry my preferred line of frames. Its fair to say my expectations were low. To my surprise and delight, they understood what I wanted, found me frames that I loved, handled all the paperwork, understood how my vision plan work better than I did (and explained it to me!) , and were meticulious in the measuring and fitting of my new glasses. I really couldnt ask for more in an optician.

Over the past three years Ive purchased two new pairs of glasses and a prescription for contacts from Eyes on Broadway. The brands they sell are unusual and exquisite, and Chris and Barry have a discerning eye when it comes to finding the right frames for faces. Ive also had a number of eye exams at this location and the process is fast and professional. Most impressive may be the customer service; they accommodated a tight schedule to get me my frames, and were able to move around appointments for my eye exam. Exceptional. I almost never write online reviews, but this shop deserves special mention.

Ive have been an Eyes On Broadway customer for almost 25 years. For two decades it was easy since I worked across the street. As age increased and eyesight worsened Barry and his team were always there to soften the blow. Recently, my wife and I retired and moved to Fl. for six months of the year. I figured Id just search out a retailer in the Sunshine State. But it didnt work that way and I found myself longing for the full service establishment I could both rely on and see from my office window. So now we plan holiday visits and family get-togethers in NYC around my annual eye checkups at Eyes On Broadway. And until they open a Vero Beach location, they will be my go to place for all matters concerning the eyes. They are that good. In fact, for my money theyre the B-E-S-T.

Ive been dealing with the Eye Shop and now Eyes on Broadway for a multitude of years. There has always been a personal touch, and a focus on detail from the entire team. They always have the latest frames available. The quality of the work is whats important here and sometimes you have to pay a little extra for it, but it is so worth it. This team isnt looking to make sales, but rather develop customers, as Im one who has been dealing with them since 1986. The best bar none.

I have always been absolutely bowled over by the personal attention at Eyes on Broadway. The staff remember every detail of my buying history and - unlike the unfortunate woman who had a single bad experience - everyone has made a sincere effort to make sure I was totally satisfied with all elements of my purchases. Today in fact i left with new glasses and wanted a hard case that wasnt black, as i can never find a black case in my bag. The woman whose name I dont know gave me her own, brand new, purple case just to help me. Pretty impressive and somewhat unprecedented.

Ive been there twice now for an eye test. This year i was able to actually get contacts as they had new technology that was not previously available two years ago. The staff are all great and were very patient with me during my contact fitting where it took me more than a few tries to get them in and out! I would definitely recommend them.EDITWent back again this year for my eye test and am awaiting new contacts and just want to reconfirm how nice Chris and Barry are. The whole experience is great.

The Worst Experience Ever .I went to get my first Glasses (Exam and the Glasses ) .exam went good but the way how they treat you make me feel like they dont give a damn about you they only cares about how much money they will make on you .they didnt offer me anything or give me a choices even if i have to pay for it .at least for my first glasses .i later find out from other stores that there is a lot of options from Dark to Self cleaning to .....,they were in rush like just pay and go i paid $650 for a funny glasses the funniest thing is i went next day to change the frame from black to brown and a young girl did that for me but she screwed me even the ticket on the second frame is cheaper she still charged me the same and wont give me a break on it .this is the worst store eveeeer .by the way i went there because i know the people there and i see them everyday .i am glad i got my second glasses in another store in soho .beautiful nice people they took all the time to explain to you every detail with a lot of options for less than half price i paid with eyes on Broadway .

Quality is really high and glasses tech guy, Barry, knows everything! Plus they service you if you get gunk on your glasses, and they really stand by what they sell. The optometrist does really excellent eye tests.

I tried to purchase 2 frames and lenses from Eyes on Broadway. They said they would validate my insurance, I have VSP, and call me the next day to confirm. They called the next day and said I would need to come in for an eye exam that would take about 15 minutes. I said I didnt need an eye exam and I gave them an unexpired prescription. The person (one of the owners, I think) said that they make pennies selling lenses and frames with my insurance so an eye exam would make it worth it for them. I said I was not going to come in for an eye exam so I will get my glasses at another shop. I feel like they were trying to get my to take a service that I did not need.

Im surprised by the negative reviews here. I started going to Eyes on Broadway last year when my husband and I changed our insurance. I couldnt be more pleased with the service Ive receivedat this store. The staff is friendly and professional and the merchandise is beautiful. Im always complimented on my glasses. Im very happy with EoB.

I called to schedule an appointment yesterday and was told by a receptionist that she would call back later in the afternoon to schedule an appointment. Never got a call.Called again today and the woman at the Broadway location told me they had appointments on the 13th and 15th (she was unaware today was the 13th). I said OK, but she would not schedule me unless I scheduled a glasses fitting as well. When I told her I had had LASIK and would not be needing glasses she refused to schedule me. I called back twice to ask to speak to her manager and she hung up on me, twice.The receptionist is extremely unprofessional.

My experience with Eyes on Broadway has been terrible. 3 months ago I went in for progressive lenses. I was very excited to get new glasses and paid up front in full. When the glasses were ready I was very disappointed to find I could not read out of them because the right side of the paragraph was blurry. After two more attempts they were not able to correct the issue of the right side being out of focus. I was refused a refund for the lens and now I have to go through the credit card and insurance companies to get my money back. This has been an absolutely awful costumer experience. The right thing to do would have been to either correct the problem or give me a full refund.

I will never go here again. They badly damaged my lindberg acetanium glasses while replacing the lenses. They acknowledged that the damage was due to the replacement but accepted no responsibility and told me that kind of thing can happen after replacing lenses -- of course, they didnt mention that before the sale. Now Im out ~1K and have a pair or broken glasses. Thanks a lot.
