A family friend had this doctor for about 15 years or more and he gave him a high dosage of medication and other unnecessary medications with it as well. He went to see him one day when he wasnt feeling well and all he did was say feel better. With in two days he got admitted to ICU and was there in critical care for one week. Finally the unnecessary medication was removed and the dosage was fixed. After one week in the ICU he was transferred to rehab where he stay for almost a month. I personally feel all of this would have been prevented if the doctor could have paid better attention to his patient and listen. I do not recommend him. If I can put zero stars I would.

Dr. Obrien is awesome. Attentive, caring and an expert in his field. So happy I chose him as my cardiologist and would highly recommend.

Dr OBrien has always provided my family with first rate care, fully discussing the pros and cons of each procedure and each medication. He is available when we need him and always thoughtful and considerate. I highly recommend him.

I am using him for over 10 years. He always has a right answer for all my questions even if it is not related to my heart . He is very comforting and I always trust his judgement. I have no problem reaching out to him if I need to.

Dr Obrien is an excellent cardiologist: my husband saw him for over 30 years. What I question is his empathy and whether his Hippocratic oath extends past the revolving doors of NYU. I called Dr Obrien, on his cell phone, in a panic some months ago. My husband, his patient of over 30 years, was trapped in a small local hospital. They could not do the vascular surgery to save his leg there. I asked Dr. Obrien to help get him transferred to NYU. Dr. Obriens reply to me was that it was Saturday, he was away, I should try to get him admitted via regular channels and that I should mention that my husband was a long time patient of the hospital. Thanks doc! My husband lost his right leg above the knee. Had Dr. Obrien bothered to use his long time gravitas and statue as a doctor at NYU perhaps the situation would have ended much better. Dr. Obrien, your cell phone was in your hand! I hope you and your family will always be treated with much more kindness and caring than you showed us.

Dr. OBrien has been my Moms Cardiologist for well over 10 years. He has been considerate,compassionate and completely professional. We feel very fortunate to have my Mom under Dr. OBriens care.

Dr Obrien prescribed medications without discussing risks and benefits. He put me through a second angiogram when was clear to my I was llikeky dehydrated and hypokalemic. I wont tell you how he behaved when I accidentally pocket dialed him.
