I have been going to Manhattan Hematology for a little over six months and I can say my pleasant experiences here have been limited. If you are looking for iron treatment please note the following:1. Your wait will be sufferable2. You will have to get your treatment in the waiting area/lobby (specifically iron treatment)3. They are extremely short staffed for the last four months4. You will not reach anyone on the phone5. Some nurses are intolerable, notably Elda. She’s rude, no greeting. When I told her I was there for iron, she replied that she knew and to wait in the front6. And lastly, admin staff will let you know that because you are here for anything other than chemotherapy your condition is less thanIts a poorly ran operation. The office manager apologized as he is aware of how being short staffed is spilling over to patients but there needs to be a solution so that everyone can enjoy their experience efficiently.

I am writing my first review on Google because I felt it was important to share my experience at Manhattan Hematology.I was referred by my PCP for severe low iron combined with severe gastro issues that prevent me from absorbing iron orally. Although this is in no way as serious a problem that others with blood disorders face, it is still scary when its your turn to be a chronic patient.Knowing NOTHING about hematology/blood disorders before, this part of healthcare was extremely new to me.Dr. Goldenberg is not only patient, great bedside manner, but explains everything in English. This review is not only about how great Dr. Goldenberg is, it is mostly about the nursing staff and the office administrators that work in the lab.I had no idea that iron infusions required multiple visits, coming 2-3 times a week. The nursing team is a small but mighty group. They make each patient feel like they are the only ones being seen at any given time. With current social distancing and elevator repairs, they are under a lot of pressure, especially with many senior patients experiencing much more complicated treatments that can last for hours, but you never see them break a sweat! They have the patience of saints! They treat each patient as if its their first time. Jessica is my main nurse, but I am treated by all of them. They get to you know your personally, and are able to know what veins are going to work on the first stick every time!Jose is a WIZ at getting insurance info and paperwork processed with ease and Monica has the customer service skills as seen in multimillion dollar service industries on EVERY call and email. This is a very special group of people that work together in a seamless way that actually care about patient care... how rare!

If you get someone on the phone congratulations. After multiple attempts I got through. I was given an appointment quickly for what I requested. When I traveled there from a distance I was told it was basically an intake. I called the following day to have the results of my blood work transferred to another hematologist closer to home and the person who answered the phone was beyond rude and curt. Where are they getting these people who work for them! Doctor was also a bit sarcastic which I didn’t appreciate. I mean all in all she was okay, but still glad I’m changing doctors.

I have been seeing Dr. Goldenberg for my recurrent prostate cancer, despite being treated at another reputable cancer institution in NYC. I wanted another point of view. Dr G was thorough, patient, and meticulous in testing me, discovering an iron deficency and giving me the best of advice. I will always return here for follow up care or for any detailed blood work. The office staff is great too, always following up and getting you in asap, plus working with insurance to approve other procedures, which they did in my case.

I write this on behalf of my mother, as I brought her to see Dr. Goldenberg. He made sure she had the best care, coordinated surgeries, and followed up to make sure she was okay. She lives in Long Island, but we wanted her to have the best care, so we brought to this practice. Happy we did.

I was diagnosed in June, 2012 with stage IV colon cancer that had spread to my liver. Dr. Goldenberg outlined a treatment plan for my best chance of survival with both optimism and realism. Because of his thoroughness and professionalism, I will be celebrating my 50th birthday this summer, and celebrating one year cancer free! If you come to his office, you will be in great hands that will do the very best for you.

My husband has been receiving treatment for multiple myeloma for a couple of years. We could not be more pleased with the quality of care from Dr. Alec Goldenberg and his wonderful staff. I have never seen a doctors office that delivers both exceptional medical care and concern for the patient. You do yourself a disservice if you have a diagnosis of some form of hematological oncology and you do not check him out.

This review is for the front desk staff member, Melanie. Doctors are good here. When I called the office to pay my bill, the front desk staff Melanie answered the phone and was not in a good mood. She told me to wait and then hung up on me. I called again and she hung up on me again. Im very disappointed by her customer service.

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Goldenberg, his nurse Priscilla, and his whole staff. I was terrified to have a bone marrow procedure, but it was less painful than going to the dentist! I guess this is one of the many reasons Dr. Goldenberg was so well recommended to me, and I recommend him to everyone.

I have been with Dr. Haglof for a bit over a year and think she is an excellent doctor with no complaints. But i just recieved a small bill for things not covered in my co-pay....no problem. The problem is the 24% APY rate attached to my bill.....are u doctors or bookies ???? Am i a patient or a 19 year old kid with his first credit card ???? Tough enough being sick....not going to put up with this....among other billing issues...especially when i ALWAYS pay my bills when asked. Goodbye Manhattan Hematology
