Really wonderful front desk staff. I am visiting family for a week and ripped my contact. They gave me a sample to wear free of charge and were really helpful and kind through the whole process. Even gave me advice on my glasses prescription as I was leaving. I can’t say thank you enough to this office!

Everyone was friendly at first. They gave me a pair of glasses that I could not see out of. I tried going back, but they wouldnt let me in. They wouldnt even schedule an appointment to correct it. They told me I needed to train my brain to get used to the glasses.They were clearly not my prescription and I still do not have glasses where I can see out of them correctly.

The office is so clean and comfortable. The staff is exceptional and compassionate. I was treated with the utmost respect and received excellent care. Mike, Tammy, and Monica are all people persons that demonstrate their love for their work with every individual that they service. I love them and commend them for the great humanitarian efforts.

Very poor Poor customer service with the big guy at the front and second phase the preparing you to see the doctor she’s horrible as well rude and disrespectful she makes sly remarks and jesters . They make you feel Unpleasant . I have been going there for years but the last two the customer service was horrible and it’s sad because they’re wonderful Physicians even if he call here he has a bad attitude

SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DO NOT GO HERE, I was told by Dr Klemenakis that my vision had not changed and that I could use my Medicaid benefits towards contacts, then I sat down at the fitting station and was told my contacts would only be $4 and that I could head to the register to check out, much to my dismay I was told the opposite, the rude associate then tried to charge me $50 for some sort of fitting fee no one has even heard of, even my insurance wasn’t aware of this fee (because it doesn’t exist) I then politely asked to speak with the manager, after about fifteen minutes the manager approached stating rudely that I couldn’t receive contacts to see until I came up with the money, I explained I am on Medicaid and didn’t have the money, then asked if there was anything that she could do, with no remorse she refused and sent me out the door without my prescription or sunglasses for my dilated eyes almost causing me to wreck on the way home, I contacted my insurance provider and was told they would be red flagged by Medicaid and soon be taken out of network, hopefully this leads to this shady establishment going out of business within the near future

Worst ever. Bad customer service. They don’t want to work and their attitude shows.Save yourself some time. Drive another 3 to 4 miles to another vision center that wants your business.

Friendly and efficient. Took care of the whole family. They answered my many questions with patience and a smile. Good people!

I have to say that I was very impresses with this office. After reading some of the reviews I was worried but I did not experience any issues. The employees were extremely helpful and friendly. They also have a nice selection of glasses. Definitely recommend this place!!!

Great service, they have implemented text message and email updates to help remind you for upcoming appointments. The staff is very kind and Mike the Optometrists on site are great!

I have been bringing my kids here for a few years and its always a pleasant experience. From the front desk to the awesome doctors, and the ladies that assist with the glasses are very helpful with making sure my sons glasses fit just right.

I have to update my view on this place.. Though it was once the ideal place to be post Katrina, because they were one of very few. Turn around used to be great as well. However, things have since changed including frame selection and turn-around. As a result, Ive moved on to a better place with greater service.

My family has been using Gentilly Vision Source for close to 10 years. My husband and son normally see Dr. K, which we have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. Dr. K has been treating our son since he was in first grade, he is now a junior in high school. He was always very caring and kind and made our son feel very comfortable with his eye exams. My husband likes him also.On the other hand, I have always been treated by Dr. Songy. For no other reason than he was available for a late appointment when I needed it! Dr. Songy has also been amazing with me and my special needs. I have eye issues that he diagnosed and between him and his extremely caring staff they have saved my vision, worked with my prescription to give me the best vision possible and saved me from not being able to drive at night. I can not say enough kind words about him and the freedom he gave me by helping with my lack of vision at night (and during the day). I spent two years having to be home before dark because I could not see well enough to drive at night or I had to depend on my husband and others to drive me everywhere at night.The caring staff is also amazing there, they are so easy to work with me if my new prescription doesnt feel right, they are always there to help me. They help me find ways to keep seeing with affordable solutions for my glasses. It gets expensive when you need to replace your prescription lenses every 8 to 11 months.Just an amazing group to work with at Gentilly Vision Source. Thank you!

My first few experiences were positive, but on my last visit, the checkup was perfunctory and rushed. When I picked up my glasses and tried them on, they were sitting on my face crooked. I pointed this out and the woman helping me just pushed them down to one side to level them. Of course, this helped for all of five minutes. They did have a good collection of frames and prior visits went well, but I doubt Ill go back.

Ive witnessed the front desk person be extremely rude to patients. When I called with issue on my Rx, he was VERY RUDE and non accommodating. I cant understand why he remains employed.

This was, hands down, the best experience I have ever had at an optometrist. Clean, fast, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Highly recommended! (Tip: dont make an appointment for Tuesday or Thursdays. These are their busiest days - which causes a longer wait time.)

Terrible customer service. Extremely unprofessional receptionists. Very condescending when you ask questions, if we all knew everything, they wouldnt have a job, so be GRATEFUL. We will NOT be returning!! Wouldnt give em my business if they were the last place on earth

This Place is the best Im David with Reliable tree service, and I had something in my eye for a week and 5days, just thinking that what ever it is will come out like they did in the past not the case so I went here and the Doctor had it out there in 10 minutes, I will never wait that long again in my life, I get anything in my eye and I cant get out in 5 minutes Im coming here!!

Great Optometrist! But the people they have serving you are the WORST! Terrible attitudes (Especially Mike)! Every encounter with him was very unprofessional. Try seeing help from anyone but Mike.

To say i have been coming here since Elementry school, i would be treated with at least some sort of seniority. I explained to them my NEED for a new pair of glasses, i was scheduled for 3-4 months away i kid you not. I scheduled my appointment for 11am, when i arrived they said they pushed my time up by an hour. I not once received any reminder calls or texts period. They weren’t understanding, nor did they try to work anything out with me. I’m sure i could have waited for an open spot but she wanted to reschedule me for the end of June. I needed my glasses in January. They don’t care. She was short with me and basically told me to get out and come back in June. Wont be returning

The front desk was not the most pleasant. Customer service could definitely be improved. Dr. Michael, however, is very nice. Im huge on customer service, so the star rating is largely due to the unpleasant experience at the front desk.

I have been coming here about 5 years now for my son and daughter but today was my last visit. The 2 incompetent receptionist need to understand that part of their jobs are to answer questions. If i dont understand something i ask. Well dont ask the receptionist here anything because they become hot tempered with you and talk to you crazy in front of other visitors. Extremely demeaning and uncomfortable situation.

Worse vision source ever. Give a wrong description for my child fro first and second time, and take forever for glasses. Never return!

I was treated very nasty, I went there about a week ago and explain to them what was going and he went from asking my name to telling me the last time I was there and there was nothing he cld do but give me an appointment and that was like pulling teeth coming from him. He gave me an appointment three months away and gave a time that was not going to work for me and when I asked cld I get a later time he said no cause the doctor will only be here for an hour on that day, then he ask about my insurance I asked him what does that have to do with anything, cause I need to knw umm no you dont cause I been a patient here for 10 years and all you have to do is pull me up in the system and everything will come up. Then he says well thats me job so i am asking.and there was a another person sitting there next him just eating her lunch, she knows me i ve been there many times and she sat there and said nothing.Never, never will go back. Just very rude and unprofessional!!!!Sherilyn
