I had a facial done at the Georgia Career Institute today. It was wonderful. My skin was glowing. I was planning on putting on a little make up afterwards to go out,but my skin was so wonderful that I put on a little mascara and lipstick and was good to go!My esthetician was very professional. She treated my skin so gently and was concerned with products affecting my skin given that I have sensitive skin. Continually she asked if everything felt ok or if it any area felt tingly. If I reply that it did, she immediately took off the product and checked my skin. Her hand massage was incredible. It literally made my day!

I havent had services here for a while and want to start going here again and try some new services but I cant find service descriptions on your website. I also would like to have pedicures here but the seating. In the pedicure area is terribly uncomfortable. The last time I had a pedicure there I had back pain and hot leg cramps for sitting in such an uncomfortable position for so long. Having a pedicure should be a relaxing experience. Also, I dont see dip manicure on your list of services, is this still offered? What is a Footlogix rehab pedicure? Lots of your services need descriptions.

Ive been there to get the perfect brow twice... It includes wax and tint and only for $10!! Both times they perfected it! Reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I had a nail appointment and somehow, the person who was supposed to do my nails wasnt there and they had mo one else to do them.... This was AFTER the appointment had been set 2 days in advance. But keep in mind, they are a school. When they can do the work, they do great and for great prices!

Ok. It’s nice inside, facial was decent and it was fun. The two women providing service were kind. However. I went in with a photo of red burgundy hair. My hair is now black. From what I’ve been told they attempt to make a color from what they have because their stock of colors aren’t properly provided/ordered to have the full range of options. I would return here for a massage or for facials. But no matter how many times I washed my hair..... my hair went from a golden medium brown to black the day I trusted somebody to dye it. Not even a hint of the color in the photo. And it would damage my hair severely to attempt to get the black out.

Her instructors, from what I gather, are really hands on with the students and teaches them different ways on how to do stuff. Ms. Ella (I think is her name) is her instructor on the salon floor and I hear great things about what she teaches my wife. My wife is really talented in MANY fields and soon she can add hair on to her long list of talents. It really makes a husband happy to see his wife happy about a new path.

I am very disgusted on how a student was expelled because of her Hijab. How dare you make her prove her religion for her to even attend ? I don’t see others having to prove their religion. To be honest it’s none of your business what her religion is. Just be glad she’s doing what she’s supposed to do as far as her work. And I’m sure she’s not causing any trouble. It’s sad that a school will take your money then turn around and expel you because you have different beliefs than them and refuse to reimburse you. That’s very sick.To the young lady that has gotten expelled. If you’re reading this I apologize for how sick this school is. You keep your head up and keep pushing through. You could do better. I wish you much success where ever you are going to.

I am currently a student here at Georgia Career Institute at the Murfreesboro location. When I first decided to go to cosmetology school, I still wasnt really quite sure if that is what I wanted to do for my career. On my first day, I figured wed be doing book work or listening to lectures like in a typical college class. Instead, we were practicing relaxers, roller sets, etc. and that was just on the first day! The instructors here are incredible. Not only do they help you with anything and everything you may need to know related to the field, they are also there to help on a personal level when things get tough and you just need someone to talk to. We just recently moved to a new facility that is even more beautiful and professional-looking than any salon Ive ever been in. We as students also get to help each other out, whether its helping foil a clients hair or just teaching different techniques. I feel like I personally learn better that way. Once youre about to graduate, the instructors and admissions directors are more than willing to help with finding jobs once you have your license. I couldnt have imagined coming to a better school for cosmetology than Georgia Career Institute. Now that I only have a few short school days left before I graduate and am out in the big girl world, I realize how much I am going to miss the lifelong friends I have made here and the instructors and other staff members who have helped make my dream of becoming a cosmetologist come true.

I chose aesthetics as a new, post-retirement career. I was the oldest student in the schools history to do so. I was made to feel welcomed, appreciated and cared about. The work is challenging but I would have been disappointed had it not been. The curriculum is thorough, and thanks to the excellent instruction I received from Miss Amy, I am, despite my age, highly valued for my skills since graduating. My employer is thrilled and my clients certainly appreciate my abilities and show their gratitude generously. If a change of career is on your horizon, this may very well be the place to begin the next chapter of you.

I would give zero stars if that was an option. I came in one evening and the lady I made my appointment with.. Pam? Was very rude and hatful and she greeted me with the same hateful manner when I came in for my appointment. The only good experience I had was with the young lady that was doing my hair cut. She was very nice and professional. Once she brought me back, I had to wait on her to find her teacher and get her to come to the floor. I probably waited 30 minutes before my haircut was even started. When she came back, and the teacher went to help another student, I hear the teacher talking down to that student, because the teacher had messed her own fingernail up while helping her with the other womans haircut. Overall, my haircut came out like it was supposed to. But the place is ran like preschool, minus the nice teachers. She treated the students horribly, and in front of the customers. Who looked equally appalled. -2 stars for the staff, 5 stars for the students. Working under her and still smiling through the cuts is a task all its own.

I hate giving such a low rating because it is a school and they’re learning, but I normally go to another beauty school for my hair services and they are amazing. So, there is no excuse for gci Students to be as unprofessional and untrained as they are. Don’t get me wrong their are a few students that are great and seem to actually have a good future in cosmetology( that’s why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1), but with most of my visits here I don’t think this school well trains their students. A lot of them do not know how to do ethnic hair and get offended when you let them know that they did something wrong or they get mad when they are booked with someone that has ethnic hair. I feel you should know how to do all types of hair and not just people with the same texture as you if you want to be a hair stylist. Another problem I had, I booked an appointment the day before their thanksgiving break and I called to make sure I was still okay to come. I was told that the person I was booked with is there. So I show up and I’m told the girl I was booked with hasn’t showed up yet and that they can’t make their students show up and a lot of them don’t show up the day before a break. So I was told they give their students a 15 minutes grace period and that I could wait to see if she shows up (she didn’t show up of course). While I was waiting another client came in about 5-10 minutes after I had already been waiting and the lady at the desk said she had just called him to let him know his stylist for his granddaughter hasnt come in yet but to give her 15 minutes as well so we’re both waiting and after 15 minutes she said that I would have to rebook but she gave an available stylist to the other client who’s granddaughter was getting the same service as me. My appointment was A) before theirs was scheduled and B) I had been waiting way longer and thought it was unfair that I had to rebook for a week later after being told their wasn’t anyone available to do my hair that night but then seeing her find someone to do this other girls hair after they only waited for about 5 minutes. Like I said this usually isn’t my salon of choice anyway because of things I’ve heard so giving them a couple of chances validated the things I’ve heard about the service of this school.

I read some of the reviews regarding the student wearing a hijab and her being expelled for her religious preference. I must say I am appalled to hear those peoples reviews. I am prior military and I know how being at the right place at the right time in the right uniform is very important. Every School, organization and business have their own policies and codes everyone needs to follow. Those policies are put in place for a reason. The student wearing the hijab is furthering her career at a beauty school to become a hairstylist. How professional is it to wear a head covering while cutting other peoples hair? As a customer you should be able to see how professional the hair on the students are . I apologize to the school for having to hear those disturbing comments. Nowadays comments being posted on the internet about schools or other Industries is how businesses thrive. Negative comments should not be tolerated unless those comments are actually meaningful.Sincerely- Kyle

My experience at this school was less than pleasant, but I was happy to get my license and start a career. I have since moved out of state and need my transcripts to get a license in this state. I have been calling and emailing repeatedly for OVER TWO YEARS (this campus as well as the campus in Conyers, GA) and no one has ever returned my call. I managed to catch the Director of the Massage Therapy program once, but she admitted that she does know how to get transcripts, and asked that I call someone else.A couple of the instructors became cherished mentors in my life, but most were hostile. The program was poorly put together at the time that I attended, and I sincerely hope that has changed. The school doesnt care about you once they get their money and you pass your state board, which helps their statistics. I would suggest you look into other schools before committing to this one.

My daughter was a total mess; crying, screaming and yelling and I was totally embarrassed. The stylists and their instructor were incredibly patient with my daughter and made multiple adjustments to calm her and work around her tantrum. They also provided product suggestions to help me manage her hair naturally, as its obvious shes not going to like having her hair done. I really appreciated their being so calm and friendly when they probably wanted to strangle my daughter! My daughter had a really nice haircut :-) They didnt use any oils while pressing her hair so it was still thick and frizzy, which was disappointing, but I will definitely take her back because of their willingness and patience. The new building is very nice and professional. Will schedule services for myself next.

My stylist was a polite and quite young lady. She greeted me with a handshake and a smile and escorted me back to her station. We went over what services I wanted and was quoted prices. She told me she had ro get her teacher to approve everything. I was left sitting there for ar least 25 minutes if not more while this poor girl ran around trying to get this teacher to come do the consultation! She kept coming back to me and apologizing. No student should have to apologize for the absence of the teacher. She should always be present! Once the teacher finally came out to the floor to greet me and go over my appointment she tried to get me to get a color that had red in it even rhough both me and the student told her that I did not want any red. Thankfully the student listened to me and my hair came out perfect! I passed my state board the first time and was licensed in less then a month of graduation. The education is great. Everything wasnt perfect but I graduated and making more MONEY then I ever thought I would. I am a licensed Cosmetologist that works in a Asian salon and I can keep up. I have seen plenty of girls come and go the year I was there. If your heart is not in it you will not make it. You have to push all the negative aside and focus on your goal. Your in a place full of woman doing different programs from anywhere between 6 months to 18 months if ur on nights. That is what I had to do. No school is perfect, you just have to find the right fit for you. Even when I went to state board I was the most organized. GCI (Mrs. Beth) had me on point with the way we put our kit together. People came from other schools and paid to pack for state board. With the struggles I had when I first started, if someone asked would I do it all over again? Sorry for the language but Hell yeah I would! I have life time friends which is a bonus as well, and clients that I adore. Worth it all!!!

The owner and the night esthetics teacher dont care for black people I experience this first hand a racial comment was made by my teacher Ms Julia to the black students in her class and when I addressed her she asked me to help her with the black girls. I was very offended. I addressed other concerns regarding that dame teacher to the owner she defended her she was very hostile and unprofessional and expelled me for no reason other than my compliant but not my classmate who is white and we had the same complaint.
