I went in today and Im so glad that I did.Ask for Miriam, she is amazing!!!!! Miriam is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. If you are interested in getting contact lenses for the first time (like I did), you have to go through a short instructional session and the team here provide thorough guidance and do their best to help you find the best lenses. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure you are educated and informed about everything.Another reason I loved this location is because you dont have to wait long, chances are someone will be there to accommodate you as quickly as you arrive. If you intend to drive, there is plenty of parking directly in front of the shop, which is a big plus in my book.Do yourself a favor, like I did and treat yourself with great customer service and a fabulous lens!!

Came for an emergency eye exam and was treated with so much love and care by the entire staff. Everyone was friendly, and extremely helpful during the whole process. The second I walked into the door, the manager greeted me right away and even held a conversation with me! Up until the end, the staff was extremely friendly and made the experience amazing. They didn’t push unnecessary exams and advised me on what is needed for my particular visit. Amazing experience!

New customer beware! Massive (over 2 months so far) delays on contacts delivery and wouldnt even provide prescription so I can go elsewhere (I paid in full for 3 years eye exam and now its money thrown out the window...). Visited store half a dozen times and everybody just pushing responsibility between store, lab and contacts manager...you know how it goes

I’ve been buying glasses with them for a while and I bought frames somewhere else and came in to get them tightened here at America’s Best. They actually broke my glasses and without my knowledge took my lens out of my glasses, put them in an entirely new frame, and gave them to me. In another incident I left work in a hurry to get to the store by 6:45 since they close on 7pm on weekdays, they locked the door 15 minutes before they were supposed to and when I knocked nobody paid any mind to me. Do not recommend.

I just picked up my glasses today, and I love the frames! When I had my appointment for my eye exam it was so fast and easy. The staff was always so nice and friendly! Would 10/10 recommend:)

I took my wife there yesterday to pick up her glasses. My wife has Alzheimer’s and had some difficulties understanding the different types of lenses she was getting. I could tell she was getting upset/frustrated a little. The employee was doing her best to explain. The manager of the lens department was about read to leave for the day and saw the difficulties my wife was having and stepped in. She was a godsend. This was my first time at their office and the entire experience was pleasant. From the moment I walked in, to the very end, everyone was so kind and knowledgeable. I was able to get a pair of glasses and sunglasses for under $200 with my vision insurance plan. I also liked the variety of glasses. Will def be returning.

The staff were kind and patient with me since it was my first time coming to this eye doctor. My eye tech Kaylee was friendly and walked me through the process. Miriam also helped me to find a frame that was fit for me and overall I had a great experience here.

I had an impeccable experience at this location. I came in with my existing prescription and left with 2 gorgeous pairs of glasses at a very good price (considering the complexity of my prescription and lens features). I called first, and both on the phone and when I came in a few minutes later, I was helped by the General Manager, Miriam who was absolutely FANTASTIC. I will go back to her for my childs glasses and I highly recommend her and her location to anyone.

Highly recommend this location! I scheduled my appt online easily & this location had earlier appt’s in Sept than the location closer to where I live. I was greeted by the staff kindly, they take your temp & have proper social distancing measures in a comfortable environment. I was taken care of by Miriam, Mohamud & several other friendly employees throughout my time there. I was impressed by Mohamud’s customer service, professional, positive & courteous demeanor. Mohamud was EXCELLENT, had great knowledge & explained what my vision insurance would cover. It’s absolutely refreshing now a days with people in society being rude & in such a rush. The rest of the staff were nice & efficient. I would recommend one of the techs I saw initially & the doctor to be more personable but that comes with time & experience.

18304 Contour Road, Montgomery Village, MD (Store 5200): The online appointment scheduling process with easy and efficient. I was able to get an appointment on the date and preferred time. On January 13, 2021 upon arrival I was greeted and my temperature was taken. I was then escorted to the eye exam room. I cant remember the name of the male Technician but he was friendly and efficient. I have been a customer for more than 11 years (Rockville Pike location before this store opened). I have always appreciated the quality and pricing for my childrens eyeglass and contact lens needs. I particularly appreciated the ease of repairs (my son was a rough kid). I planned to get my written prescription only as I have never found frames to my liking. I love eye frames! I have eight frames in varying colors in rotation. After my eye exam I fully intended to leave with my written prescription only. But, Katherine introduced herself before I could out the door. Katherine urged me to just take a minute to browse and she asked about my style preferences. Katherine pulled two cat eye shape frames that I actually liked! I purchased an everyday frame (more for the house and errands) and a frame for computer use. I was surprised by the wide selection of frame styles and sincerely appreciate the superior customer service Katherine provided. I will return again...partly due to the frame selection but mainly because Katherine made the selection process so easy.P.S. Forgot to mention...location was clean, everyone wore masks and stations were wiped down between customers.

There service is great I have bought 4 different pairs of glasses from them. I never had any issues with them and they are always willing to help out when it comes to price matching. The only thing is I wished they had more variety when it comes to men’s frames. Also there’s not really any designer brands But regardless they have good glasses.

I made an appointment, despite living in Rockville, due to the high rating but I was left highly disappointed with my experience. I made an appointment online last week and received a confirmation email and filled out the various forms ahead of time. I showed up today for my appointment and apparently it was canceled. The first person I spoke with didnt tell me what was happening but went to get someone else. The second person didnt tell me any information either until I asked what was happening. I received no email, no calls, no notification that my appointment had been canceled. I shouldnt have to reach out to see whether my appointment is still happening - that isnt my responsibility. Its honestly laughable that the window of their building boasts Same Day Appointments when they cant even keep the ones made with multiple days notice and with a customer that completes the paperwork ahead of time. Additionally, the second person I spoke with was rude, kept interrupting me, and tried to get me to reschedule (as if!) with them even when I said I just wanted to leave as I had already been inconvenienced enough. She kept trying to keep me there to figure out what went wrong but I had no interest in wasting any more time. I dont think anyone apologized until right before I walked out the door which I also found troubling.During this pandemic, I am taking my health seriously and I am livid that this place did not respect my health by forcing me to come in when they were not going to provide any service. It is so simple, so easy to notify a customer when their appointment is no longer going to occur. It is such an easy thing to do to prevent inconveniencing your customers. Yet they fail to do the bare minimum. I will not be returning and will never recommend this place to anyone I know.

I tried several places to get my daughters glasses. One place switched the lens, the other gave wrong glasses,i tried American Best and I loved it, she loved it. The staff was friendly and she got 2 glasses that she loved. We were all happy. :)

The most incompetent staff you will ever meet in your life. My wife stopped by to get an eye exam and was charged what America’s Best normally charges even though we have eye insurance. Normally our copay is $10 but they charged us $70 and said our insurance only paid $1 which made no sense. After telling them they were wrong all they could tell me was to call my insurance to confirm which I did and the staff at America’s Best wrongfully charged us. My wife stopped by for a refund and had to wait over 30 minutes for a refund! Instead the associate tried convincing my wife to get a pair of eye glasses and pay an additional $100! This place is a joke and I wonder how many other customers they have wrongfully charged. Avoid at all costs!

Im not usually one to leave reviews but the people here deserve it! I was in and out of my eye exam within a half hour. The doctor is very nice and to the point (which I like). After that, Mohammad helped me for over an hour while I was indecisive and looked over different frames. My prescription had some issues with some frames, but he and another lady were able to help me sort that all out :) I learned more about glasses in the hour I spent there than I have my whole 15+ years of wearing glasses. Very patient, very friendly! I was also going to buy my contacts online since I knew of some good deals but they went ahead and gave me the price match, so that was great!

My first visit to a business establishment since March was very encouraging. With enough staff, I only waited about 4 minutes and my eye glass (2 pair) problems were both solved efficiently by Alina. Maybe a minorr problem to someone with good eyesight, but major for me,I prepared to pay. She said No charge, norwould she let me give her a tip.

I would like a refund on my eye exam. I live 45 mins away from this location and I been their twice and the doctor keeps giving me the wrong prescription for my contacts. I told her I wore them before and she is telling me she doesnt want to make them strong but I didnt ask to make it strong. I asked to make it my vision so that I can see!!! I have a 1year old and nerf to hey back and forth to work! Thats not fair to me if I can not see!!! Its frustrating and very inconvenient that I need to keep going back and forth. I never had this problem before.

I’ve been to a lot of America’s Best locations, but the customer service at this location is the best I’ve encountered! The entire staff there is welcoming the moment you walk through the door. The lady that does the testing prior to seeing the doctor (not sure her name) is an absolute sweetheart. The doctor is great and knows what she’s doing, and Terell has to be one of the nicest people I’ve ever met my entire life. For some reason this store absolutely butchered my new glasses order from start to finish (apart from the actual eye exam - Dr. Patel is very professional and great!) I walked out having spent $250 expecting my new glasses in 2 weeks time. I called for a status update after 2 weeks and was advised they were still on their way - with no mention of any problems or delays on the order.Waited another 2 weeks, called back and was then advised my order was cancelled 2 DAYS AFTER I ORDERED THEM! Clearly the lady who gave me my status update after 2 weeks must have just put me on hold and not bother to actually check. The store could not give me any explanation as to why my order was cancelled - they just kept repeating to me and the customer care line that a conversation took place and the order was cancelled. A conversation with who? Not me certainly! What does that even mean??Luckily the corporate customer care line was great and placed a new expedited order. I went to pick up my glasses expecting them to at least try to make it right, but was told all they could do for me was 20% off glasses accessories. Exhausted from going back and forth with the store for so long, I just asked for a coupon card so I could at least use the offer at a later time but was advised the offer was good only right here and now. Just poor practice. Id advise to go to a different location.

I had an appt. at 10am today 5-29-2020 at the America’s Best in Gaithersburg. I usually go to the Rockville location and have been going for years, but this location is closer to home so I figured I give them a try. Setting up my appt. was a breeze and the receptionist on the phone was super nice. My issue is that once I got to my appt. I was turned away due to the doctor’s preference as far as type of contacts. I walked in and was asked if I’m looking in to soft contacts or GP contacts? I stated GP. I was then told by the doctor that due to her preference she does not like GP contacts, she like soft. Therefore she couldn’t further service me because she did not have the equipment to do so. I was then recommended to go to the Rockville location. I just simply said thank you and walked away. Wheels turning in my head because I really need new contacts and etc. I called America’s best in Rockville and luckily they were able to fit me in at 12:40pm, but when he tried to transfer my paper work from Gaithersburg they had already erased all my info. I then had to restart the whole process smh. My issue is that once my paperwork was filled out and received, if I could not be serviced due to preference and lack of equipment I should have been told that prior to my appt. Call me!! Why wait until I walk in to let me know? This is the first I ever experienced where due to a preference a customer can’t be served. Not everyone wear soft contacts. I’ve tried them and they did not work for me at all just was wasting money. The GP works great and I love them. All in all this location is very unprofessional as far as my situation was handled and I will continue to stick with what I know which is Rockville’s location.

I went by there just to inquire about prices and the service was absolutely amazing ! I was approached right away by a young women who went over everything , her name is to unique to remember. She was pulled away by another co-worker then someone came over quickly to take her place once noticed I was Unattended during that short period of time . I will definitely come back to make an appointment!

Wouldnt let me in DONT EVER COME HERE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS. Ive been needing new glasses for 5 years now this is unacceptable.

What a nightmare I had at this location (help yourself and visit Rockville instead). I am a repeat customer, currently, live an hour away from the closest location (Montgomery Village), ordered two pairs of glasses, one pair arrived sooner than the other which is normal/expected. My problem: I noticed after picking up the first pair, that there was something wrong with my vision. I waited until the second pair was ready for pick up to make my “one-hour trip” and report the issue to the store. A lovely lady (Tesi) ran a machine test on both pairs, and there was a discrepancy with the original prescription/order. She said, will fix your glasses but I need to talk to my manager first (Terrell Campbell). Oh my God, the manager (Terrell) is the worst. Told me right upfront that Tesi should have never run the machine tests on my glasses. Also, that he ran a “manual test” on the pair they kept, and the glasses were perfectly fine (in other words his manual test is better than the machine reading). Refused to give me a copy of the order that was initially placed or a copy of the machine readings. Also, he refused to write on the invoice (which was the only document I was able to obtain) that he assured me that his manual test is more accurate than the machine reading. Lastly, in a super rude tone, told me “thank you very much, Sir, have a nice day while he started talking to the next customer.” I was extremely offended by his words and attitude especially because he told me “have a nice day” without realizing that my second pair of glasses were still in his possession. I told him how rude and disrespectful his attitude was and that if he had realized that my second pair of glasses were still with him. After this unfortunate experience, I decided to visit the Rockville location. The manager there listened to my problem, accommodated me in their optometrist schedule for an eye exam that same day, and ordered the correct pair glasses. America’s Best, quite frankly I do not know how (Terrell) can be a good manager since not only he mistreated me as a customer, but he also put his employee (Tesi) on the spot by stating in public that she should have never shown me the machine readings. In other words, your manager (Terrell) was probably expecting her to lie just like he did to me when he stated that his manual reading is more accurate than what the machine says.

I was here browsing for new eyewear a couple days ago and was approached by one the female staffers with short hair and seemed pregnant? Hmm. At first glance she seem really nice... but the attitude quickly changed once she found out that my order would only consist of store deal and she handed me over to another young lady. How rude to know my money and time weren’t valued! The staff needs some training on customer service. Especially after waiting 45 minutes. I didn’t seem like much was going on but chatter. I took my money to four eyes who took good care of me for the same cost.

Stay away!! This place is terrible! I brought my Mother (who has dementia) here in Oct 18 to take advantage of their advertised special of two pairs and an exam for 69.99 which I figured would be more for lenses ect. $300 later for two pairs that broke the with in a month. The Dr herself(Dr. Patel) was nice enough but no one seemed to have any experience with a patient with a disability repeating yourself with an attitude to someone with dementia wont get anyone anywhere! I also decided to take advantage of what I thought was a deal except I have eye insurance and somehow paid almost the same amount as not having insurance as no associate took the time to help us or even explain how it worked with insurance no way I wouldnt choose two pairs of cheapo glasses but by that point I just wanted to get out if there mom was antsy and wanted to leave. The whole experience was more than awful. I did get an Rx for contacts of course they wanted to sell their house brand which I came back with my mom to pick up her glasses to see my contacts (to check if they are the proper fit even tho Ive been wearing contacts prob longer than the Dr has been alive) so flash forward today I call to get some contacts and nobody logged in my Rx as finalized? So now I cant get them because someone once again didnt do their job. Annddd I got hung up on! The level of professionalism is absolutely zero, pretty sure they had a job open house at the bus stop across the street and thats how they all got a job. TLDR: Stay far far away! Go anywhere else for your Rx and order glasses and contacts online, I just didnt want to pay for overnight shipping but its looking like a better option! And if you or your children have special needs I would especially say stay away

Terrible! They screwed up my whole glasses order. Customer service was horrible, didnt even even offer to make it right until AFTER I asked for a refund. I wont be going there anymore. Told my husband to cancel his upcoming appointment.
