I have had 3 procedures at this facility, all eye surgeries done while awake with a little sedation. The first 2 experiences were outstanding - attentive and caring staff, beautiful clean facilities, and excellent anesthesia experience. My recent procedure was the same, EXCEPT for anesthesia. This procedure was miserably uncomfortable, leaving me with nightmares for a few months afterward. I will avoid returning there again out of fear I could have the same nurse anesthetist. I am a physician and do not think I had unreasonable expectations.Since posting this I have received follow-up from the center & would feel comfortable returning, as they have shown they will listen to my concerns & hopefully adjust my care accordingly.
Excellent and courteous reception and check in. Comfortable waiting area. Cataract surgery by Dr. Lacayo with no problems. Excellent nurses and doctors in attendance. I would recommend this doctor and surgery center to anyone who wants the best!
I visited the medical arts blog for a routine yearly test. The second floor registration area was awful. Not only was I an hour early--which is completely on me--but after my registration time came... & went... still no help in sight. At one point, there were three clerks helping the same clerk, whom was stuck on a computer trying to register a patient. I was buzzed 20 minutes after my scheduled registration time, which I do not consider a long time to wait. However, before being buzzed, I had gone to look for a supervisor because the nonchalant behaviors of these clerks--with a full waiting room--was indeed the most irritating & disturbing part. As Im speaking to the supervisor, a young short-stature woman with glasses walks over to me & interjects herself into my conversation with the supervisor. She was incredibly unprofessional, uneducated and ignorant. It was disturbing. These are the people at Baptist hospital partially responsible for wellbeing--and our health information. While I was there, I analyzed several behaviors by these employees that were embarrssing--at best, including speaking about my complaint to another coworker by a copy machine while I sat waiting for her nearby. In short, I was there 2.5 hours--from the time of my appointment--for a routine mammogram. My advice: try not to visit the 2nd floor of the medical arts building at Baptist North Kendall Drive. Its a nightmare... & how can we trust our health to a nightmare? We cannot.
