We used Data Analytic for Carbon-14 dating of a marine shell discovered in a coastal wetlands on Maui. Our goal was (and is) to piece together the site history of this property in order to guide our ecological restoration work. We reached out to Beta Analytic with some questions about some of our findings, and their work, and were incredibly pleased with their level of professionalism, engagement, willingness to thoroughly go over our questions and the quality of their work. The information provided to us was clear and understandable, although they mentioned that they are happy to discuss the findings if we had any additional questions. I was also pleasantly surprised that they took the lead by calling me to see if I had any questions once they had sent me the report. I would give them more stars if I could, but I can summarize my review of Beta Analytic by simply saying that they are an excellent, professional and responsive company.

This was our first experience working with Beta Analytic but probably not our last! Good service and communication all around and their turn around time to get biobased testing done was excellent. As leather supplier, we were looking for 3rd party biobased testing and Beta Analytic was able to deliver what we needed in a timely manner.

As part of the USDA BioPreferred certification process, 3rd party analysis is required and you are given a choice of approved testing laboratories to use. I chose to have my sample analyzed by Beta Analytic and was very happy with the customer service (very responsive) and quick turn-around time. I would use Beta Analytic again for similar testing services.

I do not recommend that anybody use Beta Analytics to carbon date your samples. Ill share my experience. I sent several items in for dating. The results did come back quickly but seemed to be wrong when they they came back at about 100 years old. BETA ANALYTICS uses reference samples that may have nothing to do with the location where your samples come from. In my case the samples were collected just north of San Francisco and they used a reference sample from Oregon. THATS HUNDREDS OF MILES AWAY! When I offered to send them a new sample to use as a reference sample they did nothing....not even respond to my complaint. However, they sure were quick to bill me $2600 for absolutely nothing. Save your money....go elsewhere!
