I went to see Sammy for the first time today and was so impressed by his attention to detail. He made decisions about my cut by considering what would look best with my face shape and glasses (which I often wear). I have had trouble in the past with stylists cutting my hair properly because it is so thick, but he knew exactly what to do. If you want an experienced and confident stylist, come to Johari!

I usually do my hair with Samy which is an excellent hair stylist but I don’t like that he made comments about my personal life which is not only unprofessional but uncomfortable ! Also he questioned about my previous hair stylist criticizing his/ her work. I’ve never been in a place where the owner or my hair stylist made me feel so ashamed than what Samy did. I never came back! This happened 10 years ago... I don’t know how is he now ,but I’ll never forget how bad he made me felt and how sad I was that I cannot express my self to advice other clients about this issue. I just want you ( clients) to know in case you want to visit this place. I appreciate a lot the advantages of technology because at that time this tool didn’t exist.I take this opportunity to express my disappointment of this place and inform you about it . That’s the beauty of technology and social media where everyone is exposed ! The difference is that you should treat well everyone if you want to receive good reviews of your business otherwise your business reputation will decline.

Sammy is truthfully. He is straight to the point as a master colorist, he knows his colors and what works for your skin. Not every one looks good with the color they pick. However the color we pick is what makes us feel beautiful and he will tell you the color combinations your skin tone will compliment. I am glad I let him do “his thing” my color looks amazing and he styled my hair perfectly. I have curly hair. I never get my hair to curl the way he did. He taught me techniques and how to keep beautiful curls. He is a keeper.... thank you Sammy! It was a pleasure meeting you today.

Sam is a true artist. Hell have a vision for your hair. He knows his business so just put your head in his hands and let him do his thing. He also did my wifes highlights and it is the best look shes ever had. After Sams work her hair was a true reflection of the woman she is; smart, sophisticated and ravishing. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

I went there because of the excellent reviews. Well, maybe they do a great job in other services, but not nails! The room for nails looks dirty and messy. Leila (if I remember the name correctly) is a very sweet lady but clumsy and not doing good job. She was very rough with my nails and I even couldn’t tell her because she doesn’t understand any English. Also, when I called them to make appointment they said it would be $30. She tried to charge me $35, and again, it was impossible to explain that I had different number over the phone.

I was looking for a salon while staying in the Coconut Grove area for just a week and after reading all of Sam’s rave reviews I decided to give this salon a shot. He’s super busy but they called me back when they got a cancellation to fit me in. We immediately hit it off and after just a few minutes I found out that he works on 2 people I know in Miami! The cut and color came out gorgeous. If you are looking for a great experience with someone who is passionate about what they do and goes out of his way to make you feel like a friend, look no further. I’m already thinking I’m going to have to come back to the area next time I need my hair done!

This place is awesome! Sammy is amazing at what he does. Always finds time to squeeze me in his busy schedule. I have been coming to him now for about 30 years and wouldnt even think of going anywhere else. Love this place!

I called one morning to make a future appointment after being with the same stylist for 15 years even though I no longer live close to her salon. Sammy had just had a cancellation so invited me in right away and did a wonderful corrective cut along with highlights and lowlights, which look fantastic! He even let my two little ShihTzus hang out in the shop while he cut my hair because I was walking them when I called. Great experience, I will definitely return.

I went to Johari based on positive reviews I had read after having had a bad experience elsewhere. I specifically asked for Sammy because of the good things said about him. The location is also perfect for me and my husband who also needed a haircut. My hair was in bad shape, needed a new shape and coloring. I was very apprehensive as many people are when it comes to trying a new stylist.I absolutely made the right choice by going to Johari. I love the relaxed ambiance and the really fun personality of Sammy. The most important thing is the fact that Sammy really knows his stuff and he is a superior stylist and colorist. I had gone in feeling down and awful since I have been through serious illness during the past 6 months, and just felt my shabby look made me feel even worse. Boy, did that change by the time he got through with my hair. It looked fresh and new, healthy, alive, vibrant with the perfect color match, low lights and an excellent haircut. Honestly, that is right up there with the top of the best haircuts of my life. I was to the point, where I didnt even want to go out because my hair looked dead and lifeless and made me look even older. My husband loved it so much and saw how it really picked me up and that made him happy as well. He is so particular about letting anyone cut his hair, but got his make over from Sammy. My husbands hair was almost white,and it really aged him with an old style he was reluctant to change. Sammy used a wonderful shampoo that was designed to make white hair look silver and bright. The new style which was updated changed his whole look and made him look younger as well. Sammy is more of an artist than a stylist. There is a quirky kind of genius about the way he envisions the outcome of his finished product. Its as though he has a 6th sense in the ability to visualize from the characteristics of your face, and make it happen for you. He has a self confidence that made us want to listen and trust him.Needless to say, both me and my husband were delighted and left feeling really good and we will both be returning. I really thank Sammy for accommodating us and doing such a fantastic job in making a couple look their best. Also, I didnt feel like I had to mortgage the house to pay my bill. His prices are very reasonable compared to another place I previously patronized in The Grove. I felt like it was Valentines Day again. Thanks Sammy..... you rock!

I am from North Carolina and do not know the miami area at all. I was down bayshore st and looked for a nail salon and Johari came up. My first thought was wuow look at the view , the outside look is so unique and beautiful. Then I walked in and the owner referred me to Zahi (nail tech). My experience here was so AMAZING. Zahi was great. I got a manicure and pedicure done and wuow she was just soooo detailed and had an awesome ability to make my pedi feel like a massage. I was honestly surprised of how good care Zahi took over me. We had an amazing conversation and her work ethic is beyond what I can explain for a nail technician. Never once in North Carolina has someone made me feel so good coming out of a salon. The owner was soooo nice as well and made me feel like I was valued here as a customer. If I lived in miami I would always use this place! Absolutely loveeeed it! So sad that I have to go back to NC and receive average service for my nails. My nails look awesome and I will never forget this nail salon, If i am ever back in town I know who to use. Next time I am also getting a massage!
