I’ve been here 4 times. First time was okay, I was unimpressed with the trim. The next few times I came it was terrible. Ignore the signs on the door and the hours online. They make up the times they are open. One time they said they were closed at 5pm when I got there after work and the door said 8pm. Another time, they said they would do my hair and not my friends hair, and when my friend came back another day they refused to his hair again. Today was the last straw, I came again at 4:30. Sign in the door closes at 6pm. When I arrived they said they had closed already, there were about 3 other women getting there hair done. I just walked out. I’m convinced they don’t like doing black woman’s hair. DO NOT COME HERE, SERVICE SUCKS.

I made a appointment for 3:30pm. I left work and arrived on time for them to tell me that they are taking walk ins and it will be a very long wait. I reminded her that I had the appointment and she said I know but now we’re taking walk ins! I let her know that I made this appointment and left work to make sure I was on time and she didn’t care.The owner just observes and doesn’t say a word. I should have never gone back! The first time I went there, the owner did not want to schedule me at all, she kept saying it’s to dry. My hair is not damaged or self maintained, only dry. Margarita stepped in at that time and said she would see me and did a beautiful job.Today was totally unacceptable, rude and intolerable. I quietly got up to leave and decided there are so many better places to go but I must warn others that you just might not be happy with this salon.

I was visiting in Miami and wanted to take some pictures but needed my hair wash....of course I was really nervous to try out a hairdresser that I was not familiar with. This salon had a decent price and great service. My hair turned out great even though it was really windy on the beach.

Love this hair salon I been coming here for years. All the ladys are super friendly and professional but my favorite one of all is margarita she’s the best love how she does my hair. I recommend this beauty salon. Excellent service

I loved my experience at Dominican Spa and Salon! I made an appointment on a complete whim since I work nearby, and went in the morning for a cut and style. Nick was in charge of my haircut and he was awesome! He was super helpful and willing to listen to my really poorly communicated ideas for my hair. I cut my hair shorter than its ever been, and Im glad I lucked out with Nick - he shared a lot of good shampoo/care tips (found out that I was definitely using the wrong shampoo for my hair type yikes) and was generally very nice and fun to chat with. Really love the ambience of the place too! Will definitely be back :)

I have naturally curly hair as you can see in the thumbnail. I called and asked if anyone could do my hair after hearing yes walk-ins welcome, I headed over. My hair was washed with shampoo designed for oily hair-most curly hair is dry & you could touch mine to see how dry it was. Minimal conditioner was used after I said I didnt want the deep conditioning. I told her I only had 3 hours to get my hair done. I was asked had I been to a Dominican salon before and answered yes. I had never had anyone NOT comb my hair out with the conditioner in it or at least use detangler. This lady took her detangling brush and started combing my hair from ROOT to END. She had also grabbed her blow dryer in the other hand. She was literally pulling my hair as the bristles got caught and blow drying it with the other hand. I asked her to put something on my hair to help add slip. I was sitting there trying to figure out what to do because I was only in Miami until my next flight. She then grabs a RAT TAIL comb and starts parting and flat ironing my hair. It was still damp and not combed out. I grabbed my comb and Shea butter/coconut oil mix out my bag, against her judgement, and started combing my own hair to prevent her from ripping anymore of my hair off. I had never been to a Dominican salon and not had my hair roller set. I actually googled Dominican Natural Hair and this salon came up-no bueno! She actually had the gall to ask me about clipping my ends. Its a no honey. Note to this salon---when doing a persons curly hair of African descent (black Americans, Dominicans, Haitians, etc) use moisturizing shampoo, moisturizing conditioner-it doesnt have to be deep conditioned every time, leave-in conditioner, setting lotion, serum or oil, a wide tooth comb or a detangling brush is best for detangling starting at the ends and work your way up to the roots, completely dry the hair before applying a flat iron. I came in a few months ago for a blowout and a lady with short, red dyed hair over charged me. I’d been going there the past 2 years twice a year for a blowout and trim and my experience was great until my last one. I asked for my hair to be deep conditioned, washed, blowed out and trimmed. I even saw that the receptionist told her exactly what I wanted and she didn’t even give me the deep conditioner. When I asked her about it she put some oil in my hair that she claimed was better. I made a mistake listening to her because that’s not what I asked for, and I feel like she purposely did that so she wouldn’t have to go through the trouble since my hair is natural. I usually get charged 40 dollars for my visit (I always ask for the same service) and I always tip 15 dollars. This woman took advantage and probably thought I’d never been there and charged me 60 dollars for a service she skimmed me out on. I’m never coming back because of her.

I dont know how I discover it. But I used to work as a director of image for one of the biggest tv stations .Rosa is the person that has been working in my hair, her job is flawless, beautiful.I think the prices are reasonable as well. I highly recommed it.

Go see Bretton! I have been floating around the bay area getting sub-par haircuts for years. No more! Bretton takes his time and listens to what you want. As a self-professed hair change-oholic I have been looking for a cut collaborator. After 2 appointments I believe I have found that person in Bretton. Dominican Spa and Salon as a salon is very cute and clean, and in a great location. Also 2 thumbs up for having shampoo chairs that are actually comfortable for a tall person to sit in.

Nice energy from hair stylists, they met my requirements also, They attended myself without appointment scheduled. I am glad I came by, for sure I will come back again soon.

Deja mucho q desear. For hair rollers ok... But dont try hair coloring.

Hairdresser Josefina is not at all professional, she wants to look good with all the clients and she cannot work like that, three clients arrive and I who arrive with my daughters first than the other clients comes to leave me last because she is going to do them first And he even told me to wash my daughters head while she makes a blower for that I do my daughters hair at home and it is not the first time that she has done it to me and it is said that she is my friend.

The worst headache Ive had in my whole life ... this woman found my hair so much that I have 3 days with a headache. They do not have good service, they have the face that you are asking for a favor or annoying them, they do not ask you how you want the hair they just start and now, they stop talking while they do your hair, they do not polish it, at home I had to finish it because the tips looked like a broom. I know how this is done because I do it. The lady named Virginia was the one who made my sister and this lady at the time of my sister sitting in the lava hair (very uncomfortable in fact) tells her: in case you have not noticed I already want to leave. What kind of things are those? The truth has been the worst of all those who have been here in Miami. Expensive, bad and left me with tremendous headache to finally have to finish it on my own.I do not recommend it!!!
