I highly recommend Dr. Raia for his expertise as well as his pleasant and caring attitude during a recent office visit. He was not rushed, fully answered all questions and was thorough. I had surgery done by him 8 years ago and all is as good as new.

Dr. Raia did an incredible job with my surgery on my wrist. He was very efficient and his bed side manner was amazing. I was referred by an anesthesiologist I work with and was more than happy with my results, healing process, and healing.

I have been to Dr. Raia for two hand issues, and my husband has had 2 hand surgeries by him. Dr. Raia is a no nonsense kind of guy, he gets straight to the point, but he very obviously cares about his patients and is extremely good at what he does. Not only did I have surgery on my hand by him, but I recently returned for an unrelated hand issue and my husband has gone to him for 2 hand surgeries. I wouldnt hesitate to return to see him for any hand related issues for either one of us in the future and I would recommend him hands down (no pun intended).

My hand is became handicap due to his surgery. I had a muscle bump on my finger which didnt heart at all, he did a surgery on it in 2015 and he cut a nerve and I didnt feel my finger for almost two years. Now my finger still have the bump and heart so bad, i feel a sharp pain 10/10 whenever something touches the bump. I dont recommend this doctor at all. I went back to him and he wanted another surgery again.

Dr. Raia spent a lot of time showing me my x ray and explaining the problem with my arthritic hand. The injection was relatively painless and after just a few days my horrible pain has greatly subsided. THANK you!

So this is the 2nd wrist specialist ortho that has reminded me that I now have no say in whether or not my wrist is worth a Drs time . I have a bad wrist injury form a fall from about 10 feet. It is so bad that my hand therapist is concerned, and most people cringe after seeing it. I have a ulna that is just pushing out and is not even attached the hand anymore, most of my carpal bones are now compacted together with no space between any of them from the fall and the scaphoid bone has an injury from my teenage years . So my visit lasted about 2 to 3 minutes and ended with I am not doing any surgery, get used to a lifetime of problems with your wrist. WHAT!!! His main rediculous topic he used as a reason for not wanting to touch it was a scaphoid bone beneath my thumb that had signs of something from when i was a teenager 25 years ago. So I am like ok, thats fine, dont work on that bone, WHAT ABOUT THE ALL THE OTHER DAMAGE? Heres the silly stuff, He says that all of the small bones below the hand and right in the wrist, the carpal bones, area that are now compacted together from the fall are from the 25 year old injury. So Dr. my wrist has not been limited to anything with full movement framing houses for almost a decade. Do you see those same signs of age in the carpal bones that you see in that other scaphoid bone below my thumb? Wouldnt you be able to tell if that has been there for awhile like you did with the other one? My question never got answered.... He left the room telling me he is not doing any surgery and just walked away as if he I just didnt fit the kind of people that he wanted waste his skills on.. I am a owner operator over the road drive and I am feeling the set backs of this injury in my income because that how limited of movement and aching pain I have. I have fingers that are numb, and that whole carpal area creeps around with an ache quite a few times a day that forces me to stop what Im doing. This new medical procedure of these needed referral and then being limited to my choice of Dr should be applied to the Dr you see. If we send you a patient and you refuse medical treatment then you will be taken off the approved medical list for Banner. We pay your bills So if your thinking of scheduling with Dr Raia and your hair may be a little long and you dont look like you come from money and you have a tendecy to ask questions about your own well being regardless of worrying about how it might throw the Dr off his high horse, then you definitely want to look elsewhere. If anybody has a Dr that actually is there for us instead of himself they could recommend, I still have a very damaged wrist that could make or break me and my small business..
