As a substitute teacher out of work, and having always been able to take care of myself before, I find myself in Uncharted Territory. Thank goodness for these people who are so beautiful and helping me out with some food. I was extremely worried about where I was going to get any food from and these guys were so nice to me. I was able to get milk, produce, and a few other miscellaneous items that were ever so helpful. God bless you. Keep doing Gods work and know that people out here really love and appreciate what you do for us. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.

This has been my favorite place to donate to over the years however I was told today they’re only accepting clothes. I had boxes of brand new items & lots of toiletries that they wouldn’t accept. How sad there would be a limit on giving.

Horrible place to communicate and process a application they called me back around the holidays. To help my son an I get into a place I followed there application process it is upsetting that we are a homeless family trying an all they seem to care about is who the letter is made out to and no the real help that is needed.

A blessing from God 🙏🙌🙌🙌🙏.It takes a great heart to serve. Humbly thankful.Matthew 25:35-40 New International Version (NIV)35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’... Amen

This place has been a LIFE SAVER !It’s a blessing but this place has its pros and cons ! For example the nasty attitude you receive from staff ,the lack of empathy and understanding from case workers . This place definitely useful , I just don’t understand how those you can apply for such job but truly not care for those families in need .P.S.A get in get out

Amazing organization. The work this organization does can never be translated into any dollar value. What this organization does for the families they can help is so very honorable.

Ive donated to the House of Refuge many times in the past. Although there are many places to donate your items to they all have the same goals and mission. That is to make people feel loved and cared for again. The House of Refuge is such a place that gives people a purpose and the hope of a better life.

My wife posted this place 5 starts. Now we wouldnt give it a star. They have it written in the lease that if the cops are called on you, you get a three day eviction notice. This means anyone can say anything about you and without hearing your side of the story you get a three day eviction. They promise you this and that. They tell you they will help you.Lies all lies. The only people that live here are single moms and 90% blacks. So the wire people get kicked out.

I emailed the organization for some assistance for myself and my family. I was responded to within 24 hours. I was made an appointment within a week. The assistance we needed was awarded to us within 2 weeks. We are very fortunate and grateful.

Everything was fine until they kicked me out over a car. My mother loaned me a car for a few weeks to look for work, because the car wasnt registered to me, they kicked me out making my 2 daughters & I homeless. It is a decent place to live other than coming home & finding ANYTHING out of place on top of my dining room table. They come in ANY TIME THEY WANT. They search EVERYTHING looking for drugs, alcohol, whatever. You cant even leave your shoes, or a childs toy, NOTHING on the floor whatsoever. Also, you cant even have so much as a goldfish! You never feel at home because you have no privacy at all. I appreciate the help we received for the short time we were there, but they are just WAY too invasive.
