My husband had a bad work injury that could have taken use of his hand away. Dr. Raia explained everything and did an amazing job. He is very honest and skilled at what he does. He healed well and surpassed what was expected. Always go to the professionals. People want to complain about him...sounds like they just wanted to have something to complain about. He never left us hanging or without needed information.

Have been to Dr. Raia for two hand issues, and my husband has had 2 hand surgeries by him. Dr. Raia is a no nonsense kind of guy, he gets straight to the point, but he very obviously cares about his patients and is extremely good at what he does. Not only did I have surgery on my hand by him, but I recently returned for an unrelated hand issue and my husband has gone to him for 2 hand surgeries. I wouldnt hesitate to return to see him for any hand related issues for either one of us in the future and I would recommend him hands down (no pun intended).

Dont really know how good a surgeon. But I can tell you his bedside manner is non-existent. He spent all of maybe 6 minutes with me. He gave a cursory examination to my hands. And did not listen to my explanations but rather talked over me when I attempted to tell him what had happened. I dont know if I will go back to this man. After all, if he doesnt have time to spend with his patients to listen to their concerns, he probably will speed through any required surgeries. His other reviews only give him two stars on all other sites. He needs sensitivity training.

This is my 4th surgery from Dr. Raia and I have been completely satisfied with all of them. This is a very straight to the point with a smile kind of doctor. Once he smiles you know he really cares. Will probably have more surgeries that he will do. I followed him from North Phoenix to Gilbert, and Mesa. We need more doctors like this. Just had surgery on September 23rd, 2016 and stitches out today. Once you have a good surgeon, you stick with it.

My mother seemed to have good experiences with him. So I decided to give him a go. Once he found out that I Had Fibromyalsia, he used that as a go to for an excuse of surgery not working. Anyway, I had surgery on my hand. My hand still continued to hurt. I go back there for my post op examination. He comes in, does not really even look at me! Says hi, and leaves! That was basically the extent of the examination. My mother was with me. He didnt even ask her how she was, considering he did several different surgeries on her...So I then ask for my medical records. I am DENIED. I am told by the office staff that too many mistakes are done, and so now, medical records are handled by a third party... And this third party CHARGES!A few months later, my hand STILL hurts. I go to another doctor who runs tests. X-Rays showed bone spurs in my hand. My new doctor sends me for an MRI. I have fluid in my hand, swelling, unstable joint in BOTH hands, and my issue I went to Raia for, IS STILL THERE! Question, what on earth did Raia actually do? So now, just 8 months after my surgery, I am now preparing to go in for more surgery with my new doctor. Fibromyalsia Dr. Raia? Nope. Stop making excuses!

My husband and me were new patients at The Core Institute in Green Valley. We were very pleased with Dr. Gene Prendergast and his diagnosis for myself and husband. Unfortunately, The Core Institute Billing Department doubled billed my husbands co-pay by mistake and it was a hassle for my husband to get his doubled-billed co-pay back, but eventually they did send him a check. I, however, am still waiting for them to clear up a so-called glitch in their computer billing system. My co-pay that I paid at the front desk on 7/07/2016 and received a receipt for apparently didnt go through their system. A week or so later, I received a phone call from The Core Institute Billing Department demanding me to pay a second time using a credit card over the phone. I told them, No, thinking it could be a phone scam. I went to my online statement on my computer and it clearly showed that my $25 co-pay was debited from my account. I called my bank and they confirmed that they indeed received my money. It has now been almost a month and a half and no resolution to my billing issue. I called Medicare and they told me to call my Cigna Healthspring Insurance Company and speak with them. Cigna, Core Billing Dept. Representative, and me got on a three-way phone call to resolve this issue. Andrea, in the billing department at Core told Cigna that it was a mistake, or computer glitch on Cores part, not a fault of me not paying that was the problem. She said I had to turn in to them proof I paid by submitting a copy of my bank statement. I did not want to do that, and instead had my bank compose a letter to them. Today, I called Core to see if they received the information they asked me to send to them confirming that they were paid. I was told by Andrea that they still didnt get my information. I sent everything to them on August 6th, 2016, and I told Andrea I will give them another week and if this situation isnt resolved I will have to file a grievance with Cigna. This is a sad situation for all Green Valley residents who were so happy to have The Core Institute here at the Green Valley Hospital. It is also sad that we lost a very good doctor. I wonder if anyone will read this review and if anyone else had billing problems. I sincerely believe the Core Institute had to pull out because they werent being paid appropriately because of their lack of competence with their own billing department. I would suggest that the doctors affiliated with this clinic do an internal investigation into its billing practices, and hold responsible whomever is at fault to a new clinic moving out of town only having been here for six months. This sounds very fishy. Something isnt right about this. Perhaps a government agency should investigate this clinic.

He and his colleague caused more damage and pain. There is a reason he has availability same day. Run from this Dr. and CORE Institute.!
