I have had the absolute honor of working with the team at Legacy Retirement (Tammy and Jeannine) for over 4 years now. I am an independent contractor Certified in Placement as well as a Senior Advocate. I am beholden to no one but my clients and families so it gives me the ability to navigate through all the options out there to present to my families and give them those that I have had personal experience with in knowing the administration, care team and other residents many of whom I have had the honor of assisting to move Successfully to Legacy over the years. I have a personal Why to why I do what I do everyday in assisting seniors with resources and guidance to live their best lives and I take it very seriously and hold each of my clients close to my heart. Tammy, Jeannine and the entire team at Legacy has been a blessing to my clients. For many the move is a big change and scary but they treat people with love and care and the community is like one big family. I know when my clients choose Legacy they will be good and no matter what bumps come up they will make things right and good and ALWAYS put them and their needs as their highest priority.

This Facility is run by the most professional staff! They treat all their residents as if they were family. Their true compassion is overwhelming and shared by everyone. I have especially witnessed how much the residents enjoy all the extra activities that are given to them each day. I have been searching for somewhere for my mom to spend her time with like minded outgoing seniors like herself. We have found that home with legacy, the staff is absolutely amazing and we met Mailani during the community happy hour she was very friendly and you can tell she cares about the residents there. My mom even made some friends during the happy hour and live music performance and talked about she cant wait to see her new friends. She is excited about this new part of her life and I am so grateful and relieved know she will be in a great place with great people and staff.

This place just has a great vibe! The employees love their jobs, which says alot about their management/training. The activity director is very friendly and upbeat and loves people. I give this place a 10 star, if that were possible!

I have been with Legacy Mesa for almost 3 years. I love working here it fills like a second Home. The Staff and Residents are always happy and very welcoming. The Community has a warmth to it that I havent felt in other Communities I have worked for.

My mother really enjoyed living at Legacy. The rooms are spacious like an apartment. The aides were wonderful to her. I’m the daughter and I was there often. Mailani was amazing and started a pen pal exchange for the residents during Covid. The Management listened to my families needs for her.I would highly recommend your loved one living here.

The staff at this location really takes the time and effort in caring for their residents. My family and I cant say enough about how AMAZING a person Mailani is she is the most sincere and loving individual. She takes the time and patience with all she comes in contact with.

We have rockstar caregivers here at Legacy of Mesa. They are the kind that treat the residents like family and take ownership of their care. They are the best!

My wife and I have the honor of performing at Legacy Retirement Center every month and we really enjoy that. The Director of Entertainment, Mailani Fernandez organizes such nice events for the residents! Every time we are there, we perform for about 30 to 40 residents because Mailani and her staff are very involved and make sure everyone has a good time. We only see smiling faces!

My experience with Legacy comes from being an entertainer for the residents. I’m always treated great by Mailani, the Activityies Director, and her entire staff. The residents seem very happy and excited, so they must be doing things right! I would highly recommend this community!

One of the things I find most comforting and assuring about Legacy Mesa is the stability of the staff. My in-laws have been living at Legacy for about two and half years and there has been very little turnover in staff. This allows the staff and residents to become familiar with each other and to form real bonds and even friendships. My husband and I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. The care-givers and med-techs are caring and kind. The administrative staff is very responsive and willing to help when necessary.

My Mother was a resident at Legacy till she passed in September. It was wonderful to see how my Mother blossomed after moving there. The care and love she received there was wonderful. Lisa , Amie, Jay, and JR gave my Mother such amazing care. They are so passionate about how they care for the residents. They go above and beyond what is required of them. Forever thankful for the joy they brought to my Mother and our family.Jeanine in Marketing and Mary who is the nurse also were amazing during my Mother’s time at Legacy.Thank you all so much

HORRIBLE !! My mother was a resident there for one year and paid for the highest level of assistance in this assisted living facility. They were happy to take her money for a year until she had to go on Ahcccs. Then they did everything in her power to get her out, Even going to the length of the of having her admitted to a psych hospital without my familys knowledge. They made the rules up as they went, there was no assistance, there was no consistency there was barely any giving Mom her medicine on time or sometimes even at all!! The medtechs in this facility either over-medicated my mother or under-medicated her causing her to have major dystonia or delusions due to her Parkinsons disease.The communication from Trudy and CeCe was non-existent, They were both very pompous and cold and uncaring. The caregivers were rude and uneducated regarding anything and everything to do with any elderly person or any type of dementia Alzheimer or other disease they might have been inflicted with ....no training whatsoever !! BEWARE!!

Every experience I have had with Legacy Retirement of Mesa has been positive. The residents and staff are always friendly and welcoming. I’ve enjoyed volunteering weekly, helping with delivering flyers and calendars, decorating for holidays, and assisting with fun activities. I’ve been impressed with the variety of activities. The facility is always clean with a homey environment. I admire the elderly. They have lived some amazing lives and inspire me to live life to the fullest. They are treated with respect at Legacy.

Please don’t ever put anyone with Alzheimer’s in their memory care. I have never been so disappointed in my life. If you have a family member who is immobile and just sits this is the place for you! They have no idea how to redirect when frustrations arise, the care is inconsistent on each shift, the rules and expectations change from shift to shift. My poor mother never had a chance to be successful there which is sad because I really was hoping it was going to be her home. Things I observed I didn’t appreciate..inconsistency of getting my mother dressed and ready for the day. Not brushing teeth and letting her roam in night gown during the day. Never taking her to her own bathroom so she could learn where to go. Wanting her to be more medicated which made things worse. Staff coming in her room all hours of night turning lights off and on which scared her. Other patients being able to come and go in rooms which I understand can happen but in middle of night not acceptable. Not listening to family about what works best and helping her be successful. Not putting my mom to bed ever. Not cleaning up feces and letting it just sit in room mind you this is on day shift! I spent many days here Helping put my mom to bed and getting her dressed in mornings and showering her because their lack of doing it or unable to persuade/redirect my mom (we know all Alzheimer’s patients resist showering). My mom functions on schedule very well and there was no schedule for her at all. They tried to force my mother which made her agitated and at times angry. I think the most disturbing and troubling issue I have is with the director Cece and lack of communication. I never got a call from Trudy the nurse or Cece when there were issues, they would leave it to staff who never was able to tell me what was really going on etc, they would assume i knew what was going on. Terrible communication and ownership on their part for anything. It’s sad because this is a nice facility and Janine who helped me place my mom was amazing there. There were several great employees but they have not been trained in how best to help and ease fears etc with Alzheimer’s patients. They are not capable of taking care of high functioning Alzheimer’s. Save yourself the nightmare I had to endure and go somewhere else. I work in health care and you can bet I will not be referring anyone here and making sure Alzheimer’s institute does the same. I could go on and on about other things like paying for laundry that wasn’t done or letting my mom fall asleep in others rooms or calling me to come pick my up my mom because they didnt know how to redirect but I’ll just stop and say find yourselves another memory care facility because this isn’t run like any other memory care places I’ve ever seen. Very sad.

Lots of events, everyone is really happy and nice here and you can tell the residents love living here. They get involved in the activities like passing out candy for Halloween and they go out a lot. There is also live music twice a week and the food is really good. I see them on facebook all the time dancing, doing art, going out to eat and having a blast.

My wife was a memory care resident at Legacy Retirement Homes for slightly over year before she passed. It was apparent from the first that this was a great place for her. I told others that “They actually do what they say they will do”. The care was excellent.I realized later that my comments were unfair to Legacy. They actually do far more than what they claim. I saw the caregivers doing many small acts of kindness that showed that they really cared about their charges. These were not something that could ever be stated in a job description, but obviously came from the heart.The staff was readily available to me as a family member and was as concerned with my needs as they were with my wifes.The treatment we received at Legacy was infinitely better that what we had received at another facility prior to moving to Legacy. I highly recommend Legacy if you need care for a loved one.

We just helped my dad move in about 5 weeks ago. All I can say is, WOW. I live states away and was worried to leave my dad in a new place like a momma leaving her preschooler for the first day. I visited him recently in his new home and was so overwhelmed by the caring staff, supportive climate, and welcoming residents. Upon entering, its homey, smells fresh, and residents are out and about, ready to chat. My dads unit is great sized. Perhaps the kitchen is a little overkill since he chooses to eat downstairs with everyone else. *That would be my only suggestion - scale down on the kitchen size and increase the living space. But, perhaps he could turn the kitchen into a dance floor or art studio! Speaking of dance, I love that music is an integral part of most days. Either listening to tunes, exercising or dancing with gals down the hall. The bus driver was really sweet in helping us navigate how to use their system. The best little cafe is just three storefronts away or less than a 3 minute bus ride! We are only 5 weeks in, but Ive got nothing to complain about! So glad my dad is in a new home!

I am an entertainer at Legacy and having been to many communities across the whole valley I can tell you that this is by far the best facility I attend. The staff is amazing and Mailani is fantastic to work with. She is always professional, caring and courteous and I can’t say enough about her. The residents are also fabulous and always love singing with me. Legacy is a GREAT community. Keep up the great work everyone.

Staff is warm, friendly and responsive. I dont worry about my loved ones care. I visit often and at different times during the day and have always felt comfortable with the atmosphere and genuine care for residents. The different levels of care mean that as more care is needed we dont have to worry about finding someplace else. We are so grateful for Legacy Retirement in Mesa!

My Mom, Gladys Sabatine, blossomed from sitting in her recliner, covered with her throw, eating 1/4 of a sub for dinner, to a functioning 89 year old within weeks of moving into Legacy. She enjoyed the daily exercise classes, the variety of offered activities, especially Bingo, and sharing conversations with others during the excellent 3 meals a day of her choice. Most important, she was in a safe environment. I will forever be thankful to the helpful, caring staff that contributed to making my Moms last year on earth filled with so many happy memories.

This is a wonderful Retirement Residence. The staff is caring and friendly. It’s always sparkling clean, and the residents are well cared for and happy. I’m a musician and I play here so I know they have great entertainment and keep the seniors active.

Weve visited the Legacy and what a wonderful atmosphere... Staff is always smiling and helpful to everyone in need. The residents seem very happy there and love the company...I seen staff just stop by them and visit with them..THIS IS A PLACE I WOULD CALL HOME.

My mom resides in memory care and is doing very well. The church and music/dancing are her favorite things. She eats well and has gained the weight that she needed to gain. There are many sweet caregivers and activities directors to keep her busy during the day. I’m comforted that I don’t have to worry about her safety or wandering anymore.

I worked at Legacy Retirement in Mesa as the art and creativity teacher for one year and it is absolutely one of the best managed, friendliest and well kept Senior residences Ive worked in so far. I absolutely loved the staff and especially my students, the Legacy Residents. Highly recommended.

Our visits to many assisted care facilities were all wonderful, but Legacy stood out with the staff and facilities and activities each day. When the time comes that you have to make decisions about your loved ones and where to place them, have a tour here and you will readily make up your mind that this is the place for your loved ones.

Legacy Mesa has been a life-saver for my family. It is a place where I can feel confidence that my parents are well-cared for at all times. More than that, it is a place with a staff that really cares about its residents. This past June, my parents celebrated their 65 wedding anniversary. The Activities Director, Mailani, arranged a very special day for them by helping my mother dress up and then taking her and my father out for a very special lunch at my fathers favorite restaurant, where she had arranged for the staff to treat them as VIPs. This is a wonderful memory that I will carry with me for many years to come, and my father has not stopped talking about in almost 6 months. Legacy has truly found the right formula and with special people like Mailani, they make very difficult times that much easier. Thank you Legacy!

I came with a friend of mine to visit his grandmother and they had all sorts of activities going on. I always here how much fun they have and all the places they go. We hung around and had lunch with her and her friends. The food was really good too. Id come back just for the food. Long story short if my grandma lived in town and she was looking for a place Id want her here.

Absolutely wonderful place. So warm and welcoming! They had me out to share some of my animals with residents and I didn’t want to leave. They make everyday so fun for their residents, it seems!! ❣️

The staff is very friendly they always have a smile on there face. The residents are friendly and warm as well. The building it self is very welcoming it feels like home when you walk into the building.

I hate to brag, but this place is the best when it comes to assisted living and memory care. With a stable staff and a warm atmosphere, you can be assured that your loved ones will be well taken care of.

Legacy has been great for my family. It is a very clean, caring atmosphere. The caregivers, nurses and staff really care about all of us and go out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home here.

A week ago I went in for an interview! I was so disrespected by the front receptionist who is an older lady( I’m not going to mention her name) but I’m pretty sure everyone knows who she is! While making copies of my paperwork she turned to me and asked me if I was a legal citizen! I have never been asked for my legal status while being hired! I felt so disrespected and most of all disappointed! I’ve been trying so hard to work in this senior home and was very disappointed when she asked me for my legal status! I’m a citizen of this state and shouldn’t be disrespected this way! I’ve had other interviews and I’ve even asked them if it was correct for her to ask me they all said NO she had no right to ask me even when she wasn’t the one interviewing me and even then no one has right to ask me the question!

I have never worked at a faucity that is so friendly. Everyone works together as a team, even if its different departments.We also have the BEST directors that care about the employees

Very nice facility but with a lot of turnover in care-givers.Be forewarned: If you have a loved one there dont leave anything valuable in the room as it may disappear over time...especially if they sleep a lot. All the workers have keys to the rooms. Valuable jewelry is a favorite...easy to slip into a pocket.This may be a problem at other assisted living quarters and not necessarily unique here but it is our experience at Legacy.

My husband & I have been the Pastors at the LIving Faith Church of Mesa, an Interdenominationial Church, for the past. 4 1/2 years which is held in the Legacy Assisted Living Facility. We both have been blessed and pleased that they know how important it is that the elderly people can attend Church right where they live when they can no longer go out to Church. Thank you for letting us be a very important part of Legacy Assisted Living.

Legacy is a beautiful facility with workers who care about their residents. Have been in a few times and the residents are very happy and staff is very friendly.

My mom was there for 5.5 years. It started out good but a change in management decreased the level of care. My mom was struggling and was asked to leave the facility after 5.5 years. We moved her and got a medical assessment and found she had a severe UTI and was being over medicated with the wrong medicine. My mom used the recommmended doctor for her services. The health care leader at Legacy was not on top of the situation to properly address it.My mom is now at a great facility and is doing great. She is cared for and loved by the workers. She is now at Marrioposa Point Mesa.I would suggest not considering Legacy and if you have a loved one there go check out other options so their quality of life is the best possible.
