Went in on a Sunday I thought it was going to be busy but it was not I got checked in and sent to a room in the first 10-15 minutes of being there, they were very quick and really listened to all my symptoms to start working on a diagnosis and made sure I was comfortable. I was diagnosed with bronchitis and asthma, my whole trip was about 2 1/2 hours which was nothing compared to other hospital visits staff was super friendly! And the nurse was okay when I pushed her back a little from doing my Covid test, (it was just my initial reaction)⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kudos to the emergency room staff....Those who worked with me on Monday and discovered my severe infection, was performing emergency surgery within 2 hours of being brought in by ambulance , and had me admitted for post-surgical care until that Friday afternoon. And kudos to those who worked with me that very same Friday night - 12 HOURS AFTER I WAS DISCHARGED AND HAD TO BE BROUGHT BACK BY AMBULANCE - who had to perform a task that I was told should have been avoidable just as a basic standard of care during my four to five day admission.

As a mom with her daughter attending KSU, I am very disappointed in the ER in Manhattan Kansas. I understand the 3+ hour wait during the current medical crisis but the attitude of the receptionist is not acceptable. She was not only rude and dismissive of my daughter’s concerns, but to everyone in the waiting room. Once my daughter was put into the room for treatment she was administered an IV but was not checked on or monitored on a regular basis. When she began shivering as she had to call me about what to do and I had to tell her how to get a blanket, then when her IV ran out nobody knew because they weren’t checking on her and I got another phone call on what to do. Nobody seemed to care that my daughter was alone and scared and needed clear communication about what was going on or how to get help when needed. I would think that being in a college town they would know how to help students through the process of being in an ER environment. I will be surprised if our concerns will be addressed or if the hospital will reach out to my daughter to apologize for her experience, but we will see.

I went in with very low expectations, as I had just come from JC and wasnt given the time of day. But I was genuinely surprised and impressed by the care I received from everyone. The nurses, the doctor, the radiology tech, the intake person, everyone was just wonderful. I was treated like a human and listened to and I felt like I certainly received superior care while a patient. My genuine thanks to Dr. Bennett and his staff.

I just had a serious accident in my home. I felt as if I were being rushed through the entire process. Then when wheeled out the my car I told the nurses I couldnt put any weight on my foot because I could fill it was broken. I was told by two nurses that there was no fracture. I got conformation today from orthopedic sports medicine that there are 3 fractures in that one foot. Also the ER doctor knew it broke, from the notes he sent to OSM.

Had a bad leg injury. Was visibly in severe pain to the point of crying. Still had to wait 30 mins. Was told due to it being a holiday they didn’t have the staff. Then I couldn’t get an MRI which would have been ordered but because it is a holiday, July 5, there was none available and no one to do them. The nurses and Dr. Crane were very nice and compassionate. I feel like a hospital is where one goes to get 24 hr care. If it’s a holiday that is not the case here.

Very rushed experience. Unsanitary practices. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned from patient before. RNs coming in the room with gloves already on. Nurses used my body as their table SEVERAL times without my permission. Had to be stuck 4 times by 3 different “nurses”. Julie and Amarosa got it right on sticks 3nd 4. Request and complaints were ignored. Nothing was done about my complaint and was sent home with Ibuprofen even though I stated several times that that and Tylenol extra strength was not working and my pain level and bleeding was SEVERE. Huge bruise on my arm from the malpractice. Had to tell the nurse several times not to stick me in certain places and that SALINE was literally burning my arm as she was administering but she wouldn’t listen. Then got upset with me when I yelled “it’s BURNING”. First and last time there. Would give 0 starts if I could. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I will preface this by saying everyone was very kind, helpful, and tentative.I brought my infant daughter in for a fever and agreed to have them run tests. I feel like they put her through unnecessary pain. They tried to draw blood from both arms and failed because of her tiny veins, then decided to use an iv needle and was successful. Why couldn’t they do that first since it was smaller? Then they TWICE tried to place a catheter to get urine and failed…then decided they will call the nursery because they do it all the time. Why couldn’t they do that first? The nursery came and scanned her bladder and she did not have anything yet so they decided to wait so they wouldn’t put her through unnecessary pain if there was no urine to take. Thankfully after that her nose swab came back for a viral infection so they didn’t have to place a catheter a third time. But why could they not scan her bladder the FIRST time to make sure there was something to take AND call someone to do it that does it frequently? Instead of having phlebotomists and nurses that dont work on infants or babies as frequently as a nursery nurse does…why don’t you just have those nurses come down to do the little work it takes to work on an infant so it’s quicker. I feel like they used my baby as a learning segment since they either have not done work on infants that often or at all. Thankfully she will not remember any of it but I will.

I was transported there after my blood pressure dropped and my husband had to call an ambulance. When I got there they asked why I was there, and I told them as best as I could while still being somewhat out of it. They seemed to have just ignored the reason I was there and sent me to CT for the back pain I had because I had pulled muscles from a car accident I had a couple of weeks ago, which I already had a CT for it at that time. I did not need a CT for my back, I needed to know why my blood pressure had dropped and made me faint. I have only had that happen when I had an epidural so I knew what was going to happen, I just didn’t know why it had happened since I’m not on any medications and don’t have an underlying issues. I kept asking about it and said that’s why I was there and the answer I got was that it was well you might have the shingles, and might be dehydrated. They didn’t give me an IV to hydrate me if I was dehydrated. They ran no tests and kept asking if I was pregnant which is impossible since I had my tubes tied a year and a half ago. I am usually a very positive person and let stuff slide, but my husband thought I was dead and my kids saw me sheet white on the floor eyes wide open with barely a pulse. I want to know why that happened and I didn’t get any answers and nobody listened to me. I also never saw a doctor once, only the nurses. They made me feel stupid, and when I called my primary care doctor she was so confused as to why no tests were done.

Very disappointed. Would rate no stars but only option was 1. I should have gone to kstat or storemont vail. The overall quality of care and service has declined severely. I went in with extreme lower back pain and left over 2 hours later with pain which was worse. Kept getting same response as if it was a memorized verse. “Come back if your pain is worse or you have a fever”. It was repeated over and over by staff and on discharge. Well the pain was worse when I left. Last time I will go. Shame on you!!I should add that billing is horrible. If it is not resolved I will be taking legal action as this affects my credit.Do not go there if you can help it. If emergency request to move as soon as you are stable

I was brought in by ambulance and forced to “sit” in a wheelchair. I was unable to sit up. And they still forced me to sit in the waiting room forever because there “wasn’t any rooms”. My daughter had an allergic reaction the night of July 13th and all of the staff was wonderful and treated her properly. The nurse practitioner even shared with me she had children of her own with food allergies, so she knows the drill. I was instructed to keep an eye on her, and administer the epi pen if she had any problems swallowing and we went home. The instructions coincide with our instructions from our allergist and our emergency plan for allergies, so my daughter was in good hands that night. The night of July 14th my daughter was in pain, her condition was worsening and she started having trouble swallowing. This is an anaphylactic reaction, so I administer the epi pen and immediately go to ER per the instructions given to me by the nurse practitioner the night before, my allergist, and our allergy emergency plan. However, Dr. Brown, John, C. treated my daughter for a sore throat. He did not treat her for anaphylaxis. His instructions given to me also will kill someone someday if you have food allergies. He also told me that I should not have administered the epi pen! He needs to be educated on anaphylaxis because everything he was spewing contradicted what I was told the night before by the nurse practitioner and from what my allergist says to do in the event of an anaphylactic reaction. The fact of the matter is this is my local ER, and because of my daughters condition we will be visiting more often than normal children do. I expect for her to be treated PROPERLY for the condition she has because it is a life threatening condition. A sore throat! Its almost laughable. Education please!

Didnt ask profile questions so the information on my summary is very wrong. They did give me meds which may be helping. No thanks for my calling YOU. Ascension management has seen a drop in quality care, previous owners had high marks for customer experience, Your note just proves that caring means you would have reached out to me the next day after learning of my concern. As a serious Catholic, the note on my chart would have me excommunicated. I’m not certain it was a mistake chosen by the triage nurse as it could be. Regardless, Via Christi is not the Catholic hospital it was prior to Ascension’s merger.

My boyfriend brought me in after a longboard accident, where I had pretty bad road rash, a bump on my head, and a severe pain in my side. The nurse brought me back after while, but I laid there for at least 1-2 hours before the doctor came in. When she came in she looked everything over and had someone come in to give me some IV meds, which somewhat helped, but not enough. The nurse that put the IV in numbed my hands, which were pretty raw and torn up, because she said they needed to numb them so they could clean them and bandage them up since there was rocks and debris in them. After another hour or so they did some x-rays and everything was fine, but no one was very helpful with getting me in and out of the wheelchair and I was in pretty bad pain. The accident happened around 8:45pm and we didn’t get out of the emergency room until almost 1am. When they had got ready to discharge me, still nothing had been done with my hands besides the numbing. By then, they numbness was almost gone and all they did was put ointment and a bandaid on them both, no cleaning done at all.

Extremely dissatisfied with the care I was given. Woke up to a bat in my room, and after looking at the cdc website saw that I would need to be treated for rabies. After going to the ER, the doctor laughed at me, refused to treat me, and sent me home. After talking to my doctor and the health department, they were very surprised and upset that I was not treated as they said the protocol is to treat that situation as if you have been bitten and go through the rabies shots. They sent me back to the ER, since that is the only place that can administer the rabies shots, and I had to go through the entire process again and this time I was actually treated. I was not going to do anything about the care I was given until I got a text asking me to leave a review on Google for the hospital. So here we are. Very disappointed.

Went in for extreme sciatica pain. Once I initially went to the back they sent a lady to ask some basic questions. One of them being did I take any form of medication for the pain I was experiencing. I told her Naproxen but its been having little to no effect on the pain. After that an older male nurse comes and is asking me questions related to how I got hurt, how much does it hurt, etc. The doctor comes in after and it seemed like from the get go he had it made up in his mind I pulled a tendon in my leg. I try explaining to him Im pretty sure its my sciatica but he just brushed me off. He ended up prescribing me crutches and more Naproxen. I literally sat in that hospital for a little more than 2 and a half hrs and left with the same pain I came in with and a prescription for the stuff I was already taking that didnt work. As well as an outrageous bill Im sure. I forgot my nurses name but he was an older gentleman and by far the only reason I held my composure in that building. You could tell he cares alot about his job and wanted to do the best he could to accommodate me. He gave me some advice that is unfortunate but seemingly very true, unless youre dying there is very little that ER will do for you.
