0/5 stars, do not go here...Where to start?First, I was paying out of pocket because they did not accept my insurance and so I asked for a ballpark prior to making the appointment. Long story short, it cost me twice what I was quoted and no, they did not give any discount for paying cash/out of pocket.Next, despite having an appointment first thing, they were very behind and it took much longer than I had planned for.When I was called back the nurse (who had her mask not over her nose) asked me to drop mine for a patient profile picture. I refused as I have health issues and global pandemic anyone? To her credit, she fixed her mask after I said that.Not so fast! In walks the dermatologist with zero mask on. In a hospital (Geary) that requires you to be wearing a mask to enter, in an exam room the size of a broom closet..So he sorta does his thing, doesnt really seem very interested in what I have to say but settles on 3 places to biopsy. Fine. Does that (still no mask, Im not even sure if he had gloves on [back so couldnt see]) and then tells me they are understaffed and should hear back in a few weeks. Ok...I call the following week to see if anything came back. Yes! No nurse to talk so will call me back later. Didnt. I call again the next day and get a result. Ask they send the results to 2 fax numbers and am told they will [spoiler: they didnt].Make a consult appointment with surgeon at Geary since they take my insurance and I am not giving another cent to these people.But wait! In the meantime, get another call from dermatologist and get a different report/result.Go to consult with surgeon to get an action plan and hopefully find out whats going on as he is supposed to have the report. He doesnt.... he has no idea whats going on and neither do I [still].They/surgeon will call when they get the report (I called the dermatologist after I left and had them send it, as neither numbers they were supposed to fax the report to got it).Get a call from surgeons nurse who was amazing and went over it. Surprise! According to the report, all spots needed evicting which is not what either of the two dermatologist reps told me in two different phone calls. So had I listened, Id have left things that needed to be taken care of.So. Unless you want to waste your money, be exposed to someone who apparently doesnt take public health seriously (as an aside, everyone in the waiting room was old enough to be my grandparent and no I am not old), doesnt take basic sanitation seriously, cant accurately read or explain a lab report, doesnt listen to you, I would highly suggest going elsewhere.That said, I would 1000% recommend the surgery office at Geary. They took the time to explain the report (once they finally got it), I had an appointment to take care of things immediately (literally next day), they were very clean, masks, made sure I was not in pain, closed the wounds cleanly and made sure I had antibiotics due to past history. I also have an appt with my primary to look at other potential biopsy spots which I wish Id known before because I could have used that almost $400 on groceries, or rent, or Christmas..

I went in for a skin cancer screening and had two biopsies done. I was told I would receive the results in a week. It’s been over two weeks, and I haven’t heard anything. I called the office twice today to check the status of my results (once in the morning, once in the afternoon), and was told the nurse would return my calls. That has yet to happen. Clearly they need to hire more staff, because “the nurse” is either overwhelmed or not doing her job effectively. Regardless, this is no way to treat patients, especially when they’re waiting on such sensitive results. I am beyond frustrated with and disappointed in this office.

Ive been to quite a few doctors offices over the course of my lifetime. Some quite good, and some mediocre. This place is in a realm of its own--Totally Abysmal. This place sees a lot of veterans who would rather not travel to the Topeka VA. The VA pays Dr. Adams for his services. You see this man once, on the first appointment. After that you will deal with his inept staff, who biopsy spots that even I could tell were not in need of a biopsy, and when returning for the follow up visit they cant determine the location of that biopsy, and so set out to disfigure my body with liquid nitrogen in the myriad of spots where they think it might have been. They openly tell you that they dont make much off of VA payments and that its more of a public relations and advertising thing. They spent $9 to send me a registered letter, which said that I should never return to their premises again---as if I ever would!

I saw Dr Vincent Adams. He was unprofessional with his words and clearly didn’t know what I had so I think he just made something up. Thankfully I got a second opinion she knew what I had right away and how to treat it. Had I listened to Dr Adams and not gotten treated properly this could have turned into something I would have to live with the rest of my life.

I was treated courteously and compassionately by professional staff. My treatment was long but very bearable with the comfortable room, movies and even lunch. I wasn’t expecting that at all. Thank you.

Dr Adams and the entire Staff are extremely professional, kind and compassionate. I always feel that they have my best interest in mind and I really appreciate the patient education they provide.

When I called to make the appointment, the staff that answered the phone were pleasant and helpful. I was able to make an appointment more quickly than I had imagined, so that was a big plus! Upon arrival to the office for my appointment, I was greeted like they cared that I was there. The entire staff and Dr. Adams were very attentive and I had a flawless experience! Thank you!

The staff at Advanced Dermatology Center is very professional and kind. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to have their skin care health examined. Their office is clean, organized and they are respectful of their patients time. (I went on my lunch hour and was out in 30 minutes). Thank you for taking great care of your patients!

They’re here to take your money. Bought a laser treatment package with them. Was told that after the package was completely used, I could come back for additional treatments for $50 to maintain results. While at my appt for the last treatment, I was told that the next Appt would be $75. Ok sure. Schedule it. Show up to Appt and was told that it would be $150. What a freaking joke. Cant keep consistent staff who are properly trained on equipment either. Will never give them another cent.

Both office schedulers were very helpful and while the VA is throwing up roadblocks, the office staff are very understanding.

If I could give NO STARS I would. I would NEVER go to this place! The NP Brenna spent 5 minutes with us. Without looking at the nodules with a magnifier, not using any light or taking a biopsy! We went to a pediatrician dermatologist in KC and it was biopsied. It was NOT what her diagnosis was!! Then when trying to speak to Dr. Adams, no returned call! My spouse is a surgeon and he doesnt automatically diagnose people without throughly looking into all medical possibilities! Hopefully, cancer isnt missed. I have been going to Advanced Dermatology for several years and have always been treated with much kindness and the best of service. I usually see the PA for 6 month check-ups but have had Dr. Adams do some skin cancer removals. They are all highly qualified and very skilled. The faint scars I have from the surgeries are not at all noticeable unless I point them out to someone. It is a top notch place!

Another professional visit completed during my semi-annual skin cancer screening screening at Advance Dermatology. I am always greeted at check in with a positive good morning. Riley, Aprils RN for the day was friendly, engaging and professional. April as always, explained her findings and concerns for the day with detailed descriptions and recommendations.

Went in once for consultation. They said we can definitely help you just get your labs. I did. They called me out of the blue to say that two indicators were abnormal. That got me freaked out and I wasnt told what it was or if I should be concerned or anything. They wanted to know my PCP to fax it to them. So i gave it. I called back numerous times to no avail. Every time, I was lied to. The PA was in a meeting, every time. At this point, its several days and I dont know whats wrong with my blood. Never had blood work before. My PCP calls me telling me its nothing to be concerned about. Thank God. Still zero call from the PA or a nurse, even though they ordered it and are the ones who should discuss it with the patient. Days later, I get a letter in the mail from the MD saying they are cancelling me as a patient, not just treatment. ZERO reason listed on the letter. These people are awful. They dont care if you are worried to death and will even cancel you for literally no reason.

I have been a patient of Dr.Adams since he took over Dr. Cathy’s practice at least 22 years ago.This shows my trust in his practice in every respect.Thank you for the best care ever.

The office is beautiful. The receptionists are quick and kind. The nurses are thorough and caring. The doctor I’ve seen really knows her stuff! I wish they were a bit more timely, but that probably just proves how much time they’re willing to spend with each patient. Fantastic office overall!!

This was my initial visit for a consultation on multiple items. Ease of entering family history and patient info was remarkable. The staff was very attentive and informative throughout the process and assessment and recommendation of treatment options. Glad I was referred here!

My experience with this location was negative at best. The business practice lacks customer service satisfaction. I prepaid for a service without the procedure consultation and when I refused the process for the procedure I was accessed a $50 charge when refunding my monies which I was told that refunds are only processed once a month. I do not think this business and their current practice of customer service belongs in the Manhattan, KS community. I had Basel cell carcinoma under the skin on my face which is agressive. I found this lump on my face and dr Adams he doesn’t mess around say let’s test it it was quick and numb.Got a call scheduled an appointment.They took care of it with love and care treated me very kindly and gentle my care was at the top of there priority’s.Would highly recommend this Doctor and clinic the know what they are doing are on top of there game.!!!!

Ive been a patient for the past several years and have always had a positive experience. The entire staff has always been very professional and courteous, whether it was for a regular visit or for a procedure.

This office, specifically April, is always very professional, very thorough, and concerned about my skin. They found skin cancer in 2010 and Im cancer free thanks to their accurate diagnosis, quick referral to M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas and follow-up preventative treatments at EuroMed Foundations in Phoenix, AZ. I return every six months to have April check my skin. Thank you April!

My semiannual exam for skin cancer by April. Minimum waiting. Reception and nursing staff were friendly, courteous, and professional. Exam revealed 2 precancerous lesions that required freezing with liquid nitrogen. Minimum pain and discomfort. Total duration of appointment was less than one hour.

Please be aware! If you don’t have insurance or if your insurance is out of network for this provider you will pay your bill in full. They do not offer any cash discounts nor do they take any kind of insurance write off’s. I have never come across a medical office that does not give us some kind of discount if you are required to pay your bill in full. As we all know insurance always takes at least a 40% writeoff. For a skin cancer check my bill was over $400, I will never return to this facility again as they are ripping off the patient!

Nice people, snacks in the waiting room, answered questions with normal people words, what more could you want from a dermatology office?

I had schedule appointment to see the doctor for a rash that was on my neck . When I got there I was first seen by what seem to be two students, after asking several questions and giving information. A young woman came in which I thought was the doctor but she was not she was a nurse practitioner . When I scheduled the appointment I pacifically asked to see the doctor. The nurse practitioner showed no interest or concern about the rash on my neck . I felt she was talking down to me. She kept repeating herself that I must be allergic to something that I need to go home and figure it out ,she was absolutely no help whatsoever. I expected to see professionals that specialize in skin care to help me figure out what is going on with this rash. What I got was a very unprofessional staff treating me as if they didn’t have time or care . I paid $89 for a 10 minute office visit to walk out Not knowing anymore than what I knew walking in . No answers no suggestions Just to go home and figure out what I could be allergic to .....

I have been a regular patient with Advanced Dermatology for several years with no complaints. My last visit I requested the same treatment as the previous treatment in April. This did not occur and instead I was given the treatment from two visits ago from January. The office had aparently updated their systems and were not able to pull up my previous injection amount.I was unaware of this until I called them and they told me they went with Januarys which was more expensive. I was told they would call me back with an explanation. After a week of no return calls my husband called for an explanation. He was transfered several times and put on hold for over 20mins. Upon speaking with a supervisor she explained that every patient agrees before the procedure and that is their stance. (I did not agree to Januarys treatment, and was unaware they were giving it to me but I had agreed to Aprils treatment which they did NOT give me.) It is very sad after all the business my husband and I have done with them that this is how we were treated. They would rather lose a customer and our continuous referrals for their mistake which would cost less than $90. The whole customer relations process was handled very poorly and basically called me a liar. Sad!

Not a bad facility. They try to stay up-to-date on new technology and trends. Their staff and accounting need improvement. Staff couldnt properly tell me how I was going to be billed. Then I get a call a week after my appt to be told that I made a mistake and didnt pay the full amount. When I confronted them about the mix-up and that it was caused by their staff, their billing person could only tell me that it was a mathematical miscalculation and that I had to pay.When I asked the billing person for an itemized bill, she had the wrong amounts than what I was quoted so she had to go speak to someone else.Long story short, dont trust medical professionals that cant do simple math.

They removed a small basal carcinoma from my nose..only one layer I had cancer...They put in approximately 20 stitches possible more....made my nose look like a roadmap..I went back for dermabrasion,,and he only made the scar look worse..Went back and asked this Dr to graph it and he refused!Being more interested in a history lesson for his patients than helping patients to look decent!Now my nose looks like a mans with the nose disease.My nose looks is lumpy and large.it was perfect before and Im very self consious of it because of this !Ive gone to another dermatolgist who told me that it was a really bad scar,and he couldnt fix it...He referrred me to a Plastic Surgeon and now I have to pay out of my own pocket for my nose scar to be revised...!.Advanced Dermatology screwed up my nose..terribly,and they should have to pay for my Plastic surgery!I gave them a 1 only since they did remove the cancer..But Im giving them a 0 for screwing my nose up so badly..I will never recommend them.

I wanted to say thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center. Acutane was intimidating to me, but you made the whole process so smooth and I couldnt be happier with the results. After struggling with acne for years, I feel much more confident in my skin.

I love how caring the staff are here and how careful with what they are doing for me. The stitches they used on my skin, the healing process, you can barley see anymore.
