The staff are very friendly and theyve added more female staff so the ladies locker room is much cleaner than pre- pandemic, although it also helps they arent open 24 hours right now so that they can keep the entire facility really clean too. It is very bright & purple (my favorite color) & the machines have QR codes you can scan with your phone to learn how to use the machines & find out about the muscles youre working. There are TVs on the cardio machines & big ones around the cardio area. There are many treadmills & ellipticals, 4 stair climbers, maybe 15 bikes and 12 arc trainers. There are free weights & so many other weight training machines that I dont use so cant even explain them. There is a room with machines specifically set up for a 30 minute circuit train, which Ive not done yet. If you get the Black Card membership, you can use the tanning booths, hydromasssage chairs/beds and massage chairs.

Kyle, he is the manager at Planet Fitness East side. I have been trying to contact him since last 1 month and left all my information to the associate to call me since I had concerns with the cleanliness of the gym. Guess what, no one called me back. A very unprofessional team running the east side fitness center. I would rather recommend the west side planet fitness as its cleaner and the staff is respectful. Id rather give a 0 star than 1.

Olivia is awesome. Always so cheerful and helpful, really makes being part of the gym a lot easier. Gym is always clean, staff is always attentive. Plenty of equipment to chose from.

I’ve always thought the gym to be a terrifying place, especially for a complete novice like myself. But with the assistance of the personal trainer, Olivia, I’ve become so much more comfortable and confident with working out. I’ve learned so much in such a short amount of time. I’ve never looked forward going to the gym, but now I wake up everyday ready to tackle my goals!

It was a nice environment to work out in and the only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is because I wish they had more machines but its understandable that they dont because theyll need more space if they want to buy more machines l.

Gym is nice, but the worker just didn’t come in one morning, and the gym never opened. So, we all left.

This a good gym w.r.t equipment! Great staff too.There are a few issues toh which if improved would be even better!1. There’s a bunch of people that lack any kind of gym etiquette i.e., they don’t wipe down machines, just hop on your machine if you’re in between supersets, have their feet on upper body machines etc.2. I’ve been traveling across the country and every planet fitness I’ve been to in other states is open 24 hours. Sometimes the schedule gets super tight and if we can’t get a workout in, then we’ll have to miss a day and that’s a bummer!!So if there’s a regional manager that’s looking at this review, you should try to get this location open 24/7 ASAP or atleast 24/5.

Great prices and great atmosphere for new gym goers

Location, location, location. Very close to my apartment and easy to access. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. This location is always pretty clean as well.

Best deal you can get and the facility is always so clean and the entire staff is so friendly and helpful. I recommend planet fitness to everyone- beginners and not. Huge place and the black card membership is so worth it

I visited fit the first time today. It was clean, well kept, and not super full. Everyone was doing their own thing. I was surprised by the quality of their technology. Everything seemed to be in order.Lots of diversity. People of every race, age, gender, and athletic ability.Ill be returning when Im feeling cooped up in what Im sure is going to be a long, difficult winter.

This is the worst planet fitness i have ever been to. They are cheap with the air conditioning, understaffed so you have to go hunt someone down for assistance, and now because i am a few minutes earlier than I was yesterday for tanning i have to wait? And by a few, i mean maybe five minutes at the most.

Very clean facility. Very welcoming and helpful staff! And the best treadmills in the entire Madison area, where you get your own personal TV to watch on your treadmill instead of having to look up at a bunch of distant screens. Best Planet Fitness in Dane County!

Good equipment with plenty cleaning supplies but 50% of people do not know how to where a mask. Many people where it below their nose and some people just where it as a chin strap. No employees go around correcting people who aren’t wearing mask correctly. One of the employees didn’t wear a mask for the first 20 minutes of her shift and then wore it below her nose the entire time. How are the customers supposed to wear their masks correctly if the employees do not. A little ridiculous.

They have so many exercises to choose from, and the Black card makes you feel like a god when it comes to the massage / tanning areas. I would highly recommend coming here, its cheap and its hard to find a place to stop at like this... Sorry for weird wording.

I was doing my regular work out Ive been doing. When a guy, Gaston came over to me, and very athoritarianly told me to not grunt and Im grunting too loud. Then proceeds to tell me if it happens to more times that I would be forced to leave. I simply said ok and proceeded to ask did anyone complain but he walked away in the midst of our conversation. I felt disrespected and targeted because I could hear others grunting. Not only that, but I may have preexisting conditions. I felt judged, not righteously. I wont be going back until I contact their corporate office.

Its bright and vibrant. Everythings well placed. Staff is motivated and pleasant. Also, its attached to a mall, so one can multi-task in the same trip. Where else are you going to find a gym membership for $10 - 20 per month?!

If you love working out and you want some where that has everything then you will love working out here. They have cardio equipment, weight lifting and trainers just like every gym does. What makes this gym stand out to me is the environment, the people and its only $10 to join.

They don’t enforce the mask mandate to keep their members safe

It is a nice work out facility I’m just very disappointed in how they handle trying to cancel your membership, especially right now. I have health problems and don’t feel comfortable going in to the gym I have chosen to do home workouts and they only way to cancel is to drive all the way there to the gym and cancel in person or write some type of letter and mail it to the headquarters? It is a 40 minute drive to the closest location for me as I have moved. In my opinion especially during a pandemic you should be able to adjust your membership or cancel your membership online or over the phone but no such luck. They offered to freeze my account so I won’t be charged for 2 months and that sounded great so I can hold off making the drive until I have another reason I need to go that direction. But then again they said in order to freeze my account I would need to go into the gym so that didnt offer any help.

I highly recommend Planet Fitness...If your not into working out joining just for the tanning is worth it!

I gym here. Its decent

The bald headed male who seems to be a manager is extremely rude. He picks and chooses out of everyone here to ask to put a mask on or to pull it up above their nose while he walks past numerous males lifting weights who don’t even have one on their face. He also allows employees to walk around without wearing their mask appropriately and they are standing next to him while he’s asking somebody else to fix theirs. Extremely unprofessional, if you’re going to enforce a mask in your business you need to be making sure everyone is following it in the same way. Otherwise, it’s just like any normal Planet Fitness.

Like quite a few PF they neglect the free weights. I know its not a gym, its Planet Fitness but the weight area is so tight people are walking all over each other and Im afraid the weights are going to be dropped on my feet. Yes 75 lbs would hurt.

OMG! I needed to get back here. After 5 years 7 days a week, they literally locked the door behind me 3/17/20. Working out at home since then, too scared to go back but thats just not the same. I bit the bullet and went in - and I felt safe! So excited to get back to my gym rat routine 😃

Has one cable machine for chest flys which is the only reason I would choose a gym over the other.

Staff is extremely friendly! This was my second day being there since the reopening and the machines are cleaned by members after each use plus they are cleaned very well every 20 minutes by staff members. Was very pleased with planet fitness being on top of their game.

I have been a member here for over 2 years and have always been very satisfied. The club is always clean and the staff is always friendly. There have been a couple of instances when there has been a water issue but I think that is more to due with the mall where it is located and not PF. Very satisfied and have recommended many people

Nice location and like all the Planet Fitness locations it has a large space to workout and lots of machines.

They are a nice growing gym service in the Madison area. Whats best about them is they dont suck you into contracts. You simply pay an inexpensive monthly membership fee that you can cancel anytime. And they are 24 hours. The staff is super helpful and friendly. They even offer massage services too. Its a very accommodating gym service!I came for a few years late at night. I enjoyed it. Im a night person and it was not busy in the middle of the night. The only downside is some of the locations are not in the safest areas for working out in the middle of the night. You have to be careful when traveling alone. I always felt like I had to look over my shoulder.

Really love the spa for black card members. Really clean, doesnt stink, and although it gets a little crowded sometimes, theres still plenty to do. I like that I can bring my (non-member) boyfriend so he can work with me to develop my workouts.

Extraordinary service and dedication to fitness is what I received upon entering this planet fitness, I have been to multiple planet fitness locations all great service I might add, but the Service and help I received in Madison’s Eastside planet fitness was beyond exceptional. Going into specific detail on two amazing employees, Kyle, and Ashley were very friendly and guest oriented and provided a lot of insight into the gym itself. Upon exiting the gym following my work out they helped considerably with there tips and motivated me, and because of it I will be returning.

Toilets were pretty gross and the layout seems a bit congested to me. Least favorite of all three in the Madison area

It’s pretty ridiculous that you have to go in to the club to cancel your membership during covid. Also ghosting your members emails is also a very unprofessional business tactic.

I Love PF! Been a member of PC for many years, and never used all the facilities, such as pool, classes, and daycare. All the staff is so nice and I have never seen a fitness center greet the customers and always wished them well when they leave. The staff are always cleaning! They pull out the treadmills and ellipticals every day and the dressing rooms and rest rooms are immaculate!

Been to several other locations, this one has the newest equipment. Relatively clean for how dirty some of the people in there are 😏. Staff is nice and very respectful. Tons of cardio equipment and enough free weights for everyone. Haven’t been kicked out yet so overall a great place to workout lol, Especially since it’s half the cost of anywhere else around. Would be 5 stars but mall parking sucks and locker rooms can get a little on the gross side.

I truly appreciate how well run Planet Fitness East Madison is. Always a friendly hello when you walk it. Clean! Someone is always cleaning. Good variety of up to date equipment. I dont have to wait for a machine. Stephanie is a great personal trainer. Finally, the massage beds are a perfect way to end a workout. Thank You

2018 baby! - planet fitness has been my go to gym! Affordable and great if you’re trying to burn off those calories and shed that winter weight. The staff is friendly and it’s a great atmosphere. I would def recommend planet for those of you who are looking for an affordable gym!

Always friendly and accommodating. The facility is very clean and well maintained. I love that the Black Card area is separated by frosted doors and feels a little more secluded. Equipment is kept clean and in working order. Love it there!

I have always been into working out and keeping my body in shape. I once had a membership at the Princeton Club and also the Sun Prairie Athletic Club. Both were great gyms; however I havent ever been more motivated to work out a gym more than I am with Planet Fitness. When you read the signage around the gym, you really feel that you belong. Just a wonderful atmosphere.

Place is nice and big. There is usually a couple of people taking the benches and sometimes you wont be able to use one. There are a LOT of treadmills and so thats usually not a problem. This place is usually busy which means you may not get to your workout machine/equipment right away. Staff are nice but they arent as nice as the South Planet Fitness of Madison. Itll be nice if they provided a hair dryer like the South P.F as well! Overall a nice place.

Love it, average Joe gym, with great equipment

The good: Low price and no commitment. The staff at the front desk is really friendly and makes you feel welcome. The gym and locker room is always super clean. Tons of cardio machines. Even when it’s packed I’ve never had to wait for a treadmill. There are group classes offered though I’ve never participated.The bad: This seems like a smaller footprint than other locations, and there is not much floor space for people stretching or doing exercises that aren’t tied to a machine/large equipment. This location does currently have any rowing machines which is a bummer. Worst of all, the trainers for group classes have ZERO respect for other people using the space. They have even sent classes on sprint circuits through the main gym! Ridiculous and unsafe.

This is like a playground for adults! A playground that will make you healthier and happier, that is! Terrific, supportive staff, top of the line equipment and a judgement free place where everyone can feel they belong no matter what their condition. I highly recommend not only my East Towne Planet Fitness, but by all means, go for the Black Card membership, and enjoy all kinds of fabulous benefits in the Black Card Spa! My favorite is the Hydro Massage Loungers! Best fitness club ever!

I enjoy working out there a great deal. The drawbacks are that I cant go alone because I always get hit on and it makes me really nervous, they dont really offer classes even if they offer coaching, and I definitely would prefer more amenities. Still, for being very reasonably priced, they have a nice locker room with plenty of lockers, the staff are friendly and helpful, the massage beds are lovely, the equipment is great in its variety, and the showers are fantastic.

Very good price monthly for the equipment and services they let you use. To be honest I hate the color scheming of Purple and Yellow that Planet Fitness does but this is what my ex-girlfriend at the time and my friends all use so this is what I use too. It gets busy during the day but I go late at night when barely anyone is there. Since this building is relatively new its nice and Id rather go here than the South side location. My only gripe is they dont have a sauna or a pool like the Princeton Club, though then Im sure they would charge an arm and a leg for a monthly membership.

I enjoy the work out; like that people are there to work out too; like the showers and locker room; great showers! Good machines and well maintained; clean gym; friendly people. A good price for sure!

I like this gym alot. Would 5 star but lately every 3 of 5 workouts I cant get in the room to stretch or use the lower back machine. Would be great to move them to another location considering there is 1 of each of these in the entire place and can never use them because there is a training class and they block the entire room. Not fair to the 50 other people in the gym for 10 people in the class.

Its a solid gym, only issue can be certain staff who would rather mess around on their phones in the corner of the front desk than clean or wipe something down.Otherwise the gym is a typical PF, machines work, rarely have I seen anything broken. Some locker locks are bent but thats all.

Its modern, clean and has all the amenities I need to stay focused and work out! The staff has been friendly and helpful. The personal trainer Stephany was awesome to work with and helped me develop a workout plan and goals to stay motivated! Great place and so glad they are on the east side! The message beds and tanning are a great all in one perk as well!!
