WE had appts with Dr Patel and when its time, I will certainly return there for my cataract surgery. Everyone was friendly and polite and went above and beyond for us both. Even though she is out of network of my glasses vision insurance we are both returning for a glasses exam as shes very good at her job,as was all the staff,we felt very comfortable there,and after a phone call to my vision ins plan,it appears she is saving us quite a bit on the eye exam. We are very happy with the practice. Wish we could get our glasses there! But we will check on that too,further

As many people,, I was a little afraid of this surgery. I had mine performed at OSF. Right from walking in the door to the operating room I was very at ease and impressed. The staff at the hospital were very polite and thorough. Very efficient. My anesthesiologist was polite and I didnt even know that I was having it done. Last but not by any means the least there is Dr. Yoon. He talks you through everything at his office and before surgery. He is all business but in a good way. Him and his staff at his office are to be commended on how well they take care of you. Hands down I highly recommend him. Good luck.

The Dr. Yoon, Dr. Patel and the rest of the staff were wonderful as I had cataract removal in both eyes. They eased my fears greatly. The procedures were so much better than I expected...and the results amazing!

Went for a visit with my husband. Wow this place has gone down hill! The doctor berates staff right outside the door. Very unprofessional. I feel bad for those nurses. Will be going elsewhere in the future.

I liked this place. Ive had Glaucoma for 30yrs. Unfortunately, my other eye doctor had retired. I went to Malik Eye center, n 1st thing he wanted to do was surgery. Anyhow, long story short, Rockford Eye & Laser didnt make me wait for long periods of time & Id told them about Malik & No, no reason for eye surgery. Yes!! Absolutely knew what they were talking about! Great doctors & staff!! Ive also researched my Glaucoma...theyre GREAT!!

Rockford Eye and Laser is highly recommended! Dr Yoon knew that I was really scared about my cataract surgery, and he was caring and calming during the procedure--so much so that I had the second eye done a few weeks later rather than wait. Dr Patel, whom Ive seen for follow up exams, is wonderful. I hope to keep her as my regular optometrist in the future. The entire staff at the Center has been great, very professional and accommodating. Also, Ive never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a scheduled appointment! Once again, highly recommended!

I don’t understated why Dr. Yoon or his staff has any bad reviews. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Yoon and his practice. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful.I had Lasik done November 10, 2020 and I couldn’t be happier! It really is the best thing I’ve ever had done. Dr. Yoon is very thorough in his pre surgical exams and won’t risk your safety if he feels you won’t have a good outcome from Lasik. I definitely believe it’s worth the price. (I paid about $1,800 per eye)The day of surgery the techs/nurses help to make you feel relax before surgery. Dr. Yoon then comes in and helps answer any last minute question and goes over what to except in the laser operating room. Once in the procedure room Dr. Yoon and his team walk you through what to do. Dr. Yoon was excellent at reassuring you that you’re doing excellent or if you need to stop doing something. (Note- it’s hard to not want to look at what he’s doing, you need to continue staring straight ahead) When he had to correct you for doing something wrong, he was very nice about it. The nurses in the room were very helpful in explaining what was happening and explaining what the sounds were. They would then count down how much longer each step had. (This part was really nice especially on the steps that were pretty uncomfortable.)10/10 recommend Dr. Yoon at Rockford Eye and Laser Center on Mulford to anyone who is considered Lasik.

Absolutely terrible.They give you a questionaire to see if youre a candidate for lasik. Had me do about 5 different tests, and Doctor Patel comes in and says I am a candidate for lasik. She tells me she is going to put drops in my eyes to which the technician says hold on and shows her something on my questionaire- since neither of them had looked at it before this. Blatantly tells them my medical hx. Doctor Patel and tech say uhh hold on and they both go in the hallway where I can hear them talking. The tech tells the doc that this condition is a contraindication for lasik. The DOCTOR says Is it? Im glad you caught that because I didnt even know that. The tech says Yes, its even in the video we have them watch. Then the doctor sent the tech back in to tell me that Im not a candidate after she just told me that I was. Tech says Dr. Yoon is very conservative and wont do the surgery because of possible complications and promptly showed me the exit.So...1.) You dont even look at the questionaire you give people before telling them that they are a candidate for lasik.2.) The doctor doing the exam isnt even the surgeon who will do your lasik surgery.3.) The doctor there isnt even aware of the contraindications/ disqualifiers for lasik that I am being evaluated for.4.) Your staff talks in the hallway right outside my exam room, where I can hear them talking about their lack of knowledge.5.) The doctor sends the poor TECH back in to tell me I am not a candidate? You cant even come back in and tell me yourself that you were wrong?!

Theyre getting one extra star because the assistant was great. I came here on a referral for a second opinion because my right eye had suddenly become more blurry and I wanted to get to the bottom of it. The doctor was very apathetic and told me I just need a prescription and that he wouldnt make up lies for me. I was simply asking how my vision could suddenly be blurry. After he told me the lies line he was done having any kind of conversation and I had to get out of the chair and walk out without any more words said. I wasnt even being rude! I was just asking questions concerning my eyes. I was also dilated and I wasnt even offered protective glasses until I asked the front desk.Very disappointed in the way I was treated.

I was really looking forward to this appointment- it was made over a month in advance. I showed up the 15 minutes early (for an 11am appointment) like requested to fill out to paperwork. Still hadn’t been taken back by 12:10. Being told it could be a 2 hour appointment I couldn’t wait any longer and had to leave. Although the front desk workers were very nice, waiting for an hour for an appointment is ridiculous.

Paid 500 out of pocket after they did procedure and then find out wasnt covered. Then...they told me my new insurance covered it so I made appointment then came in AGAIN and they tell me they dont take my insurance. The girls there really need to know what theyre talking about.

Dr. Yoon was great. April and his staff were wonderful. I was comfortable and informed the entire time. As someone who is naturally anxious they did everything in their power to make me comfortable. I would recommend to anyone. Dr. Yoon and his staff are all kind and personable yet professional.

I recently had cataract surgery done by Dr. Yoon. Through out this process all of his staff at the Mulford office & everyone at Rockford Ambulatory were top notch people. I was very nervous with the first surgery but the staff did their best to put me at ease. When going into have my second eye done I knew what to expect and the nervousness was gone. And BIG THANK-YOU to ALL the STAFF !!!!! Best of all I dont need glass all the time now. Makes me very happy.

Dr. Yoon and his staff are excellent and incredibly knowledgeable. Always up on the latest technology and techniques. Ive been very well taken care of (as has my mom and my husband!) at Rockford Eye & Laser Center.

I had my LASIK done with Dr Yoon 12 years ago. All went well. His practice as grown and the office has lost its compassion and personal touch. They called ME to schedule an eye exam because its been awhile. I agreed and set up the appointment. A tech took me back in a room and had me read the letters projected on the wall. A few minutes later, Dr. Yoon came in and started to set up the machine to check my eyes. Asked if I was having any issues and we discussed my poor night vision. He then said, we need to dilate her. I was going back to work, so I could not be dilated. He then said well I cant check your retina without the dilation. I then replied, when YOUR staff called ME to set up the appointment, they never said anything about dilation.. I walked out and rescheduled my appointment. It get my EOB from my insurance company and they charged me $142 for a doctor visit. REALLY? I didnt even get the eye exam I went in there for. So I called the office to talk about the charges. I was directed to their billing company. Their billing company told me that they would contact Deb at Dr. Yoons office. Then told me that that most likely they would not overturn the charges. I am still waiting for a call back. I have cancelled my next appointment until this is worked out. I am disappointed with the unprofessionalism.

Dr. Goon was apathetic and later even seemed agitated toward the concerns of my referring Optometrist. I was dilated to undergo an exam (Co-pay + insurance claim #1), then immediately told that I would need a second appointment because the next portion of the exam cannot be performed while dilated (Co-pay + insurance claim #2).

Dr. Yoon did an amazing job on my eyes. I now see 20/15 in both eyes after my Lasik surgery. The staff was very nice and professional as well. I would recommend to anyone!

I had laser eye surgery done in January and was very pleased with the entire process. The doctors did a thorough and timely series of tests prior to the surgery, got me in quickly, and the surgery went really well. All of the follow up exams have been quick but I feel like Doctor Yoon has been completely available for any questions I have. During my appointments before the surgery I had plenty of time with Dr. Tylka to address any concerns. Both doctors were knowledgeable and competent. I would definitely recommend this office to others.

I really enjoyed my time with them. I have made them my permanent home for eye care! The doctors are sharp, the staff is extremely efficient and relaxed and most times Im in there they are smiling, laughing or joking with each other or patients! You can trust Dr. Yoon and his crew.

I wouldnt trust my eyes to anyone other than Dr. Yoon and Dr. Tylka. The staff is great! Always smiling and making you feel at ease.

Had an appointment at 3, showed up 20 minutes early. Was taken back 10 minutes later. At 4 still hadnt seen the Dr, had to ask what was going on. Was told the tech was having problems setting up the machine for my lasik surgery that was scheduled 3 weeks earlier. 20 minutes later still no update so I left. Next Dr.

I was referred to Doctor Yoon by my optometrist due to a metal piece that struck my eye while doing yard work. Doctor Yoons office scheduled the appointment for later that day and although the procedure was terrifying because of what was involved, I was comforted by Doctor Yoon throughout and he helped ease my anxiety. I ended up needing a procedure to remove damage to the surface of my cornea and I am glad I went to Doctor Yoon. He is the real deal and I trust him with my sight.

If you want to be treated like a number this is your man. I don’t know how else to put it. I did have a great experience with the staff at Rockford Eye and laser center but I was very disappointed with the service the Doctor provided. I went through all of prescreening twice and my surgery was changed three times. I had to change days off and reschedule rides with family in order to come home every time. The day before the third date that surgery was scheduled I had a preconference with the Doctor and he said that I was no longer a candidate for surgery! It was like he never looked at any of my information until that date. Isn’t that was the prescreening is for? What happened to the five other visits that I had with him before that day?He showed me little consideration for anybody else but himself. If you don’t believe me just look at the other complaints, they say the same. He is there to do a task on his time.

First I appreciated getting worked in by Dr. Yoon. However he minimized my condition and treated me with no respect. Maybe if you have a condition that generates $$ you might get better treatment.

I had PRK laser vision correction eye surgery performed by Dr. Steve Yoon (the best eye doctor!) at Rockford Eye & Laser Center back on April 19th, 2018 and I couldn’t be more pleased with the final results! I recently went back on November 13th, 2018 for my 6 month follow-up appointment with Dr. Christina Miller (super nice!) and I now have 20/15 vision! Dr. Yoon is so knowledgeable, professional and is a perfectionist when it comes to making sure you achieve the greatest results possible from surgery. Both of my parents had their cataract surgeries performed by Dr. Yoon in recent years and couldn’t say enough good things about him which is why I originally decided to go see him for a consultation because as an active individual I was tired of wearing glasses since the age of 16. I had often thought of having laser vision correction eye surgery, but like most people the fear is what kept me from going through with it, but the entire staff at Rockford Eye & Laser Center put my mind at ease and calmed my nerves enough for me to finally decide to go through with it and I’m so glad I did because having PRK laser vision correction eye surgery was the best money I ever spent! My only regret was not deciding to have this done sooner! I want to personally thank Dr. Yoon and his staff for giving me the ability to see the world clearly again for the first time in a long time minus glasses. I also want to let Dr. Yoon know what a great staff he has! Everyone is always so warm and welcoming especially Elizabeth when I come for my follow-up appointments which makes me feel very comfortable. If anyone is considering PRK and has any questions at all about my experience feel free to message me anytime. I highly suggest Rockford Eye & Laster Center because you won’t regret it!

I have now had cataracts removed from both my right and left eye. Dr. Steven Yoon did a magnificent job. I experienced no pain whatsoever in either surgery Dr Barbara Tylka and staff were also very kind and patient during my vision test and measurements. Though I opted not to have implants to correct astigmatism, my long range vision is remarkably improved and glare from night driving has been greatly reduced. The follow up care has also been excellent. I highly recommend Rockford Eye and Laser Center.

I had LASIK surgery done by Dr. Yoon and had a great experience. The nurses were very friendly and helpful regarding any questions I had. Dr. Yoon was very knowledgeable and helped me in deciding whats best for me regarding which procedure would best fit my lifestyle (PRK vs LASIK). I was very comfortable here and would recommend them for anyone considering LASIK.

If you are looking for kind & compassionate doctor, this is not the place. He may be good at eyes. He was very unfriendly, uncaring. Was unprofessional. I went in for what I thought was an eye issue for my corneal disease. He said it was not my eye. I asked him for suggestions. He said he didnt make things up that my eye was fine. I said ok I am in pain what should I do. He said it was not his problem. I left in tears. Felt humiliated and belittled. I completely lost respect for him.

Dr. Yoon and his staff are friendly professional and very knowledgeable. Dr. Yoon ordered extra measurements of my eye to ensure I have the best outcome from my cataract surgery. I appreciated his attention to detail and commitment to providing me with the best vision afterwards.

For many years I was told that I was at high risk for Acute Glaucoma. I was monitored closely by my doctor during the entire time. When my insurance changed, I was forced to go to another provider. I chose Dr. Yoon. Dr. Yoon ran many tests, took scans and imaging of my eyes, and thoroughly examined me. When all results were in place, Dr. Yoon told me that I was not at risk for Acute Glaucoma and that my eyes are healthy! I will continue my eye care with Dr. Yoon and his staff. They all are very caring and knowledgeable.

Stay away from this place, they change eye doctors very often and each of them has a different way to handle the treatment, and no good results they care just about the money, i tried to call the office manager to bring my concerns and left 3 messages and she never called me back, she has a nasty attitude, several times I hear her screaming and complaining to her employees in front of the customers, very unprofessional place . Stay away.

I would not recommend this place to anyone! The free consultation cost me $200.00 to see if I was a candidate for Lasik eye surgery. They charged me after they told me I was not a candidate and told me they would prescribe me glasses even after I told them I did not want glasses and I just wanted to know if it was possible for me to fix one eye with Lasik. I was kept waiting around seeing multiple people for over 2 hrs. At one point I walked out of the waiting room to find the employees standing around chit chatting and asked for help. I was treated very poorly. I called to ask why I was charged and was told I never asked for Lasik and that my left eye was the problem then I corrected her and said actually it is my right eye I came in for. I requested all the papers that I signed be faxed to me and they would not release them to me, said they would call me next week. They never did. Dont waste your time here!

Great experience with PRK. The staff explained exactly what would happen and were caring and concerned for my comfort.

My grandmother had caterac surgery performed by Dr. Yoon. The first one was painful and when it came time for the second one she wanted to talk to the doctor before hand and ask questions and explain to him that it hurt. When he came into the room and we tried talking to him he told her he couldnt talk he had surgery and that if she wanted no pain he would have to stick a tube down her throat and then he walked out. This made her even more nervous. After surgery he asked her if the second eye hurt less. She told him that it hurt more and he ignored her and gave her a dirty look. He never came to check on her after either surgery and at her office visits he rushes her out. He was very rude to her and inconsiderate. When you are doing surgery on a person you need to make time to make that person comfortable and answer all their questions. I would NOT recommend Dr. Steven Yoon.
