We wanted to go here for a few years. Finally got up the courage to go. We absolutely love this place. My wife and kids and I had a great time we had to go back a second time. 2 weekends in a row. Im thinking were going to have to make this a new stop every weekend. Tent sites are nice and clean and ready to go when you arrive. Parking for 2 cars done of them have more parking. Campers are welcome with power hookups.

Stayed here in a 40-foot fifth wheel for 14 days in June, on Site 167, in the Plum Grove area. This site is a 50-amp hook up, which looks very old, but worked just fine. Overall, this a nice, natural setting park and campground; however, there are some things to keep in mind. Weekends will be totally packed out. Lots of children having a good time!!! Weekdays were nice and quite. There are no water hookups at most sites, but there is a potable water spigot approximately 110-feet away from this particular site that you can use to fill your fresh water holding tank. Also, there is an “older” style bathhouse approximately 200 feet from the site. If needed there is a small camp store located about 300 feet behind this site, but it is only open on a limited basis...check the campground website or call them for specific times. Lastly, I have to address the park roads... DO NOT enter the park from the Harlem Road entrance pulling a camper...the potholes at this entrance are unbelievable! Instead, use the entrance on Highway 173.

Rock Cut is a great park with excellent camping facilities. We stop here every year on our trip to see family in Wisconsin. convenient to I90, the main highway, yet secluded and quiet. Beautiful beaches and boating.

We had a GREAT weekend at Rock Cut! Sites were big, lots of great walking paths, friendly staff! Bathrooms could use some love but you’re camping... I don’t usually expect luxury bathrooms at a stare campground! Can’t wait to go back!

Spacious RV sites, tent sites at waterside. No water hookup. Showers and SLOW check-in leave much to be desired.

Electric hook-up did not work. Tried two different sites, no one came to help us. They told us it was our trailer that was the problem. We took our trailer to Camping World in Rockford and they let us hook up there to test our tralier. There was nothing wrong with our camper. Camping World was nice enoughto let us park there for the night.

Like most Illinois state parks, there arent many people around on weekdays. No complaints at all about maintenance and operations in the park or campground

Its a well-maintained forest preserve Campground. They have BBQ Pits. Its great place for hiking and biking! Also you can drive right alongside the beautiful glistening Lake. There you will see fishermen in their fishing boats pulling in their catch. Theres a Pier you could fish from the pier or perhaps launcher boat there. Its a place to go and relax and enjoy the fresh air and nature.

The staff was very nice considering we arrived during a shift change, didnt have a reservation and they were book to near full capacity. They found a spot for us and even offered an alternative if we wanted it. Im very happy with the Rock cut State Park Campground Permit office and their staff.

Being from Texas visiting Illinois Im used to camping in areas where nature dominates. Well this place was overcrowded with families whooping it up until past 10pm. No social distancing here. I must say the bathrooms are some of the most revolting I have ever seen. There are mosaic tiles missing all over the floor. With Covid19 you would think the state would maintain the facilities. Texas State Parks put this place to shame. Never again.

Great camping park. Staff are doing well to keep Rock Cut Park operating up to its typical high standards. All this despite covid-19 restrictions in place at this time.
