You dont realize how important a clean gym is until youve been to a gym during a pandemic. I was at LA Fitness before and never again! I cancelled after my first visit to Crunch Fitness! The gym is always very clean, they have great equipment and free weights, the people are friendly, lot of sanitizing wipes stations, and everyone seems very respectful about wearing a mask!

Then I herd nothing so I kept calling and front desk put me through to voicemail. I put a block on my cc so they could not charge me. I herd from there billing department, I explained the situation they put me on three way call. Still put me through to voicemail. The billing department gave me Heathers email. I sent her a email no response.I call leave her a voicemail no response. Then I open my bank account to find that they changed the name on there gym to take the money out of my account. Very very sneaky and deceitful. At this point I don’t want to be a gym member. I called and got another voicemail. So I write Heather another email. I have now received a message stating my email is blocked.I’m at lose of words of how to get refund and cancel my membership. I want nothing to do with this horrible, dirty practices, deceitful gym. This gym has good equipment but the issue is workers are always late in the mornings. Atleast once a week a worker is late and causes the gym to open way past its scheduled time. For the amount one pays it makes you question if its worth it. My opinion its not only reason I come here is my job is right down the street but ill be canceling my membership here and rather go down few more miles where the management is more on top of it

Cody - one of the Sales people at Sunset - is so highly unprofessional, inappropriate and extremely rude. Generally Sales people at Gyms are pretty friendly and helpful, should you need to speak with them. Cody didnt seem too happy with his job, or I guess - happy to have a job. He should be replaced. What a huge turnoff - especially in a gym at this time.

Overly crowded, subpar equipment selection, and unfriendly staff. Only 2 weightlifting platforms. A crunch trainer was coaching someone deadlifting... I asked if I could use the squat rack and he said no lol. Makes 0 sense to hog up a huge platform like that (especially when its crowded) when deadlifting can be done anywhere in the gym.

I just moved to LA, and I was looking for a place to workout that was reasonably priced and in a prime location. This gym checks all the right boxes! Great ambience, clean space, functional layout, towel service, and an amazing staff. Rob and Mike helped me sign up, and they were so incredibly helpful and kind. My only complaint would be that the lockers in the locker room require you to bring your own lock. There is plenty of new technology nowadays where you can enter in a 4 digit combo to lock your belongings, but hopefully that will be updated in the near future. Other than that, I definitely recommend this place. If you’re looking for a quality gym in WeHo, this place is it!

I cancelled my membership with Crunch Fitness on June 10th under the following California Law: California Health Club Studios Contract - Civil Code - CIV § 1812.85 section (c): I was owed $30.00 for a half month in March as well as $60.00 for the last month of my membership which I paid up front upon signing up (which was obviously never used). I received an email from Crunch on July 4th confirming that they would refund me and that it would take 2-3 weeks. I began following up with them in late July and then in August. They stopped returning my emails and it has now been 82 DAYS since I cancelled my membership and I still have NOT BEEN REFUNDED the $90.00 they owe me and AGREED TO SEND ME. Very disappointed in the way Crunch has handled this situation. Hopefully we can resolve the situation, otherwise Ill have no recourse except filing a small claims court case when e-filing becomes available again in the near future.

They decided to start monthly payments again in June with less than 1 days notice - in the middle of the pandemic. After requesting a refund they said the request was rejected because the request was made too late -- too late? I had less than 24 hours to prevent them from charging my card..... to put this in perspective, it took them over a week to respond to my email about this issue. Their team refuses to refund the money regardless of the situation and many explanations and request on my end. Theyre clearly using this as an excuse to grab more money during covid-19. Not cool and never joining again. UPDATE: their team has been ignoring my request for over 3 weeks now, regardless of the Response from the owner message below.

The reopening of Crunch Sunset is very dangerous during Covid-19. The upstairs main gym area is always very hot with very stagnant poorly ventilated air. People are struggling to work out in the heat and everyone is tugging on their masks including me to get air constantly and pulling masks/face coverings down or off to breathe! Its just awful. Theyve had ongoing AC/ventilation issues for years but lately since reopening its worse than ever. Its not a safe environment during this serious Pandemic. I stopped going and do not recommend to anyone.

I even met some celebrity crushes there, which obviously is a plus.Only drawback is that its always very crowded, but I guess thats to be expected considering the location. Also, you need extra strong willpower to succeed here - theres a massive McDonalds right across and pretty much every window overlooks it perfectly. ALSO, at some times they switch to Fox News on the cardio TVs, that should be a no-no in the current climate.Overall though, thanks for a great experience!!

The staff of this gym have always been great, and have always been professional and kind. What needs some manner of attention is the facility. It has been a long time that this gym has had issues with water, or really the lack of, since their has been flooding and closer. The lockers and showers went through a very long and exhausting renovation, only to realize there was a leak, the bathrooms were ripped out and redone. Now,,we are faced with the mystery of this gym having no water, and the lack of courtesy to its members. I come from far away to go to the gym, shower and head to work, to come to the gym and find out that the gym has no water is unacceptable. This is not the first time for it is an consistent issue with this gym. The owner and management need to be considerate and realistic to all its members, not only those that can come in the middle of the day to use the showers at Burk Williams. This issue is long overdue and needs to be fixed.I do have to say that the staff at the front handle themselves very well and professionally although they are not given much information to give to their customers. It is time to fix the pipes. You have come to the consistency that having no water and lack of consideration for your members is the norm.

Crunch Fitness cant be trusted with credit card details. They will rip you off and ignore your efforts to get a refund even after they have admitted their fault. My partner and I joined up after making a clear agreement with Casey that it would be for one month. We specifically said we needed a short term pass as would be leaving the country after the month ran out (we were visiting from Australia). He seemed really friendly and helpful and we were happy with the one time fee arranged for us.Since returning home we have realising that Crunch has been randomly charging our credit card to the tune of $460. After contacting them we were assured the charges were a mistake and they would be refunded. This was over 3 months ago and we have repeatedly been contacting them only to be assured that they are working on it and seeing no result. Its unbelievably frustrating and deceptive. The gym is solid, and if you have no billing issues, everything is fine.Original ReviewIf you sign up for crunch, watch your credit card bill like a hawk, and pray you never have to deal with their management because theyll just ignore you.I was considering getting six personal training appointments, and then decided not to. I specifically told Herman in person not to process them. I assumed he had done as I asked, until 2 months later I noticed a charge for $300 had been slipped in with my membership fee, in the same receipt so I had missed the charge. I figured, no big deal, it was a mistake, theyll correct it when I tell them. I clearly had not intended to purchase them, with both my instructions to Herman, and the fact that I never used a single appointment. I called Herman, and he dragged his feet and never did anything. I called Crunch and they told me to write to the fitness manager, Christopher. I wrote him and he told me to give him two days to research the situation. Hes ignored me ever since. Ive written him four emails, and he wont respond. I called Crunch again, and they gave me another manager. Same deal, never responded. PARKING: Free for the first couple hours. Pretty easy to park :)CLASSES: If you love classes, you will love this gym. Thy have the best classes of any gym Ive ever been to....by far.WEIGHTS AREA: This part of the gym is pretty small - there arent rows and rows of machines and weights. Honestly, I feel a little self conscious working out in the weights area - and Im not a shy or self-conscious type person.... I never ever ever ever come here to use the machines. Ever.TRAINERS: The trainers here are excellent, but pricey compared to my trainer in the South Bay. But, they run decent specials if you can afford to pay a chunk up front. I did 10 sessions with a girl - it was good, but Im not rich enough to do it all the time.VIBE: I personally like the vibe here. Yes, its a lot of pretty people in cute workout gear, but they all do seem to be working out pretty hard. Its west hollywood...there should be no surprise that its a bunch of models and actors, and a lot of ripped gay dudes. For me, that is a motivational drive that keeps me coming back ((to classes...))LOCKER ROOMS: These are so much better than most gyms, but not as good as the crazy expensive gyms. Honestly, if the locker rooms were any better, this gym would probably be out of my price range. Good showers, great eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, blow dryers, lotion, conditioner for your hair/shampoo, mouth wash. Theyre solid locker rooms.Overall, I like this gym. On April 4, 2019, I signed up for personal training with Davis, the personal training manager at the Santa Clarita CRUNCH FITNESS for a package of 8 sessions which also included 2 additional sessions for free. The cost was $480.00. Unlike a standard business contract, there was NO paperwork just Davis indicating for me to sign on the electronic signage pad for my training package. NEVER ONCE did he mention there would be a monthly recurring charge of $480.00. Of course I signed because I was purchasing my 8 + 2 training sessions and I wanted to pay for them. WHY would I question that? Any legitimate and ethical business would advise you that you were actually signing a monthly recurring contract. Again NOT ONCE was ANYTHING mentioned about being charged monthly for additional training sessions. On May 6, 2019 a company named ABC FINANCIAL took $480.00 out of my account and again on June 4, 2019 took another $480.00. A TOTAL of $960.00 was taken from my account that I NEVER AUTHORIZED.While under the impression that I was ONLY paying for my 8 + 2 sessions, I did sign their electronic signage pad. Though, because of their misleading, dishonest and corrupt business practices, in reality I was UNKNOWINGLY signing a contact that was allowing them to charge me monthly for sessions that I never intended to have.I went into CRUNCH FITNESS and spoke to Jabari Day, the club manager on June 10, 2019 regarding the unauthorized charges He then completed a “Request For Refund” form and informed me that I would be refunded the $960.00 in 7-10 business days.I did receive a check dated June 27, 2019 for $480.00. I immediately contacted Jabari Day inquiring about the remaining $480.00 still owed to me, and he said he would look into it. After two weeks of multiple phone calls and emails to Jabari Day, all of which were ignored, I started sending letters to the founders of CRUNCH FITNESS, Curtis and David Harman. I also spoke to Nic Soszynski, the Business Customer Service, Creative Coordinator. After all of this, I was informed they are not going to refund the additional $480.00. Their willingness to refund half of what is owed to me implies they recognize that they were guilty of poor business ethics.I personally know of others that have been deceived by CRUNCH FITNESS in the same manner as I have been. After researching I’ve found online what seemed to be a never ending list of complaints of the deceitful and shady business practices of CRUNCH FITNESS stealing money from members.

Great location, trendy classes (if that’s your thing), a smattering of friendly staff (there’s a super friendly guy at the front desk most weekdays, but he may be the only one who looks up from his phone when checking you in), and passable cleanliness keep me coming back to this cramped cathedral of fitness on the Sunset Strip. Widespread disorganization (let’s at least re-rack the weights before opening in the morning, please), comparatively limited weekend hours, and the absolutely unacceptable continued lack of running water in the men’s locker room (now for four and apparently at least for a fifth consecutive month) at roughly $70/month membership dues would try anyone’s patience—mine included— and make this a really tough sell. I find this gym most conducive to working out early in the morning (no-nonsense clientele), fairly welcoming mid-day to around 4-5 pm weekdays, and insufferable weekday evenings from 5 onwards, unless your bag is claiming a piece of equipment and taking endless selfies, texting, and cruising for an hour without necessarily ever actually exercising. Of course, if that’s you, ignore this review entirely and enjoy yourself!

Youd expect them to moderate enrollment to keep the load down but I guess GREED took over sense. On one occasion I was late because my credit card on file expired and i was charges a late fee ($15!!). I called the billing department and it seems like they are using off shore services. I was talking to a cold and unfriendly customer service rep. I could not convey my message and I got really frustrated. I requested to cancel my membership and i was told that there was a cancellation fee since they need 30 days notice (really!? Why!!? are you going to find a replacement for me and you need 30 days to do so!!). Try to FREEZE your membership and youd end up paying $15/month. Why? Because your spirit is still using the weights while youre on a vacation or something and somebody needs to pay for that. GREED!I (AND ANY OTHER MEMBER) HAD TO SUFFER 3 months of bathroom renovation without the gym even thinking of compensating us for having to walk 3 days a week to a public restroom, not to mention the lack of showers. But no the GREED is on, payment is as usual although the service is shameful. Stay away from this gym!

A man by the name of Ebenezer Lembe went into this establishment in a rude and confrontational manner. When a friendly employee by the name of Omari approached him, Mr. Lembe started demanding a pass from the employee in an aggressive way. While the employee was doing his best to de-escalate the situation and handle multiple customers, Mr. Lembe would become more impatient and threaten the employee demanding to see his manager. Mind you, the employee was trying his best and did not deserve the harassment generated by Mr. Lembe. Granted, Mr. Lembe did not inform anyone that he was recording video live on YouTube in a private establishment, so one could argue that Mr. Lembe intentionally started a problem with the employee to generate content for his YouTube channel. Please be aware that Mr. Lembe does promote violence on his channel and will go after people who he feels have done him wrong. He is a danger to the general public.

It’s been 4 months since I moved to the states and I still haven’t found the gym where people actually workout instead of staring at their phones. But what I find the most annoying is that whena person is resting is still sitting on the machine staring at the phone and occupying the machine preventing someone else to jump in and do a few reps. Anywhere in Europe this person would get a warning for that.

When I rejoined Crunch Fitness in September, Amita, who was the manager at the time convinced me to purchase a 5 pack of training sessions and recommended a trainer. After 3 (not amazing) sessions, my trainer abruptly left the gym, but she did not tell me nor did Crunch call me to let me know. Instead, the gym gave my personal number out to rando trainers who would reach out to me to see if I wanted to training. Confused, I asked what happened and thats when I learned of the trainers departure. I dont want to invest sessions in another trainer when the first one wasnt that great and Crunch didnt even bother to contact me when she left. I think this is borderline fraud and constitutes unfair business practices. Ive now reached out to the general manager, Jonathan E. several times about the situation without a response. Ive also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and now the California Secretary of States office. The facilities arent that great. The gym often stinks and the bathrooms are under construction. And some of the people who work at the front desk are just downright rude. I watched the gym receptionist chew out an elderly gentleman who was frustrated that he didnt have a bathroom to use because the bathrooms have been being remodeled forever. My boyfriend is a member also and we are now looking at other gym options. Save your money or give it to a company that does good and treats their patrons right.

Worst - joined was working out with my wife and they walked over and told us to stop. Claimed one of us was a trainer. We both have worked out together for years at Golds and other gyms - still do - never a problem. When I explained the situation to the manager he did not care. The actually told us not to use the same machines together. So every time we went in they would come over if we were switching off sets. Amazing attitude. Real jerks - all of them are idiots particularly at this location.

I used to go to LA Fitness where I was paying $20 less a month. However after that gym got even more disgusting than it was went I signed up, I decided to return to Crunch. The gym is mostly spotless, the equipment in great condition, the DJ on Thursdays plays awesome music, and I love the towel service!I dont really take classes but I have taken abs and yoga in the past and theyve been great. The showers and sauna area are super clean and never lack shower gel or shampoo and conditioner. They even have moisturizer, mouth wash and blow dryers in the lockers. The mats could use replacing and the music from dance classes is sometimes too loud (I could hear it even over my in-ear headphones), but for the price, Crunch really delivers! And you get free two hour and a half parking!P.S. Lots more attractive people than my previous gym and yet zero douchebag or creepiness factor.P.P.S. The new locker rooms were a big disappointment. After suffering alternate days (boys/girls) for access to lockers, the renovation is kinda meh. They used to be kind of cool looking, now they look like public toilets, covered in tile. Also, the gym got colored lights everywhere and it can be a bit... Studio 54-ish.

Crunch gym did not honor my request to be opted-out of their annual marketing solicitation of a complimentary training session which is just a marketing ploy used in order to upsell personal training services. I opted out last year via phone and apparently the employee made a mistake as I received another marketing e-mail the next year. The e-mails come from the personal trainers personal gmail address and as a result you cant opt out of them by unsubscribing as you can with the regular corporate e-mails which are fine. I suppose I could have set up a filter in g-mail to automatically delete e-mails with certain trigger words but I feel like I shouldnt have to do that, know what I mean? After I told this specific trainer via e-mail that she was spamming me (as it is indeed spamming in order to e-mail someone after theyve asked your company not to do so) she revenged by entering in my email address in to various e-mail subscriptions. Within a matter of minutes I received at least 50 e-mails from different organizations. She thought it would be funny to enter my email to Christian subscription sites where they spam you 10x a day with bible verses. In addition, Crunch employees looked up my address on file and signed me up for actual physical junk mail from In Touch Ministries which was mailed directly to my home address.I am pretty sure that doing so is in direct violation of Crunch corporate regulations as well as state and federal laws. It cant be legal to look up contact information of a CUSTOMER and use that persons private information in order to harass them just because you dont like that person; its a complete violation of corporate privacy policy and illegal. I am certain that I have sufficient grounds for a lawsuit should I wish to proceed. What these Crunch employees did is illegal.Obtaining my home address and using it to have physical junk mail sent to my home is completely out of line. I know for a fact that it is a member of Crunch gym who did this as I received the mail to my nickname Jackie and not my actual real name.Just be aware; the employees at this gym stick together and if they feel as if you have disrespected one of them, they will obtain your PERSONAL INFORMATION from their computer records and utilize it in order to harass you. Frankly, it does not matter what I wrote to the trainer or how rude I was, even if I had cursed her out or called her names, obtaining your customers personal information for this type of use is illegal and unethical. Good customer service means taking the higher road; not every customer is going to react favorably to you but thats part of the job. Lashing back by signing me up for spam junk is just petty and unprofessional. Can you imagine if every business just obtained your personal information and started signing you up for junk mail just because they thought you were difficult or rude? What kind of business does this?FYI Crunch employees; whenever you enter someones e-mail into a form (in order to sign up for any email subscriptions) IT LOGS YOUR IP ADDRESS unless you were smart enough to use a proxy (not likely). An IP can be traced back to the computer or electronic device used to sign me up for all this junk (every device has its own unique IP). Its very easy to trace and you could be held legally responsible.I informed the operations manager (Lian Duke) of the situation and she simply ignored my email.

Get it right, get it tightWork it, work it!!OMG they have such an amazing class selection! What I tried :Power Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga based class, with powerful and vigorous overtones.)- Boy did I feel the burn! It was such an intense class but the instructor was more than supportive. She adjusted my body a few times as she saw I was completely lost with the poses.Bati (Fuses yoga and dance with circuits of plyometric and conditioning. BUTI® dance moves taken from various styles that focus on an intense shaking of the hips including Miami Booty Dance, Brazilian Baile Funk, Hip Hop, Crunk and African Tribal). This class and it was SOOO much fun. Booty shaking and rump twerking is always great. Its was a bit hard coming straight from Power Yoga, but its something I would LOVE to try again. If you like to dance this would be a great work out for you.Red Velvet (As smooth and satisfying as its cupcake counterpart, this fluid dance class incorporates luxurious red silks suspended from the ceiling and gorgeous choreography that inspires grace, strength, and beauty.) Sounds better than actually was. I totally felt like Goldie Locks in that I couldnt find a red silk that fit my height. Some were lower or higher to the ground, which made the exercise either extremely difficult or too easy. We had a sub teacher so it was less indicative of the real class but its entertaining at most. I did feel my abs burning the next day so some of it helped. Just wasnt as sexy as I imagined it (hah Im too awkward for sexy).Overall great location2.5 hours parking validationFree guest passesShowers, steam room, sauna and mouth wash.***I WOULD LIKE TO ADD EVERY CLASS I ATTENDED THE INSTRUCTORS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE MUSIC. I WOULD SUGGEST THEY GET UPDATED SOUND SYSTEMS AS IF EVERY INSTRUCTOR IS HAVING ISSUES ITS THE TECHNOLOGY NOT THE PERSON.***

Its better than 24 hr fitness, but not as nice as David Barton Gym in W LA...DBG will slay the competition if it ever gets the go ahead to come to Weho. Many pluss ...ok cardio section and the weight room is not bad with free WiFi. Would be nice if it opened til midnight and later on weekends.Crunchs main problem is that its resting on its former glory, like it was 1999! The mens bathroom is badly designed and acts as a cruising spot for pervs....This gym is 90-99% gay male...some of that is good, some not so much.A haven for straight women (see above). Tons of em flock here. When it comes to paying $200 per month at Equinox just for the experience ....Crunch is the best choice for the area.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to redo the lighting similar to a gay dance club - youre totally barking up the wrong tree. Yes, this is pretty much a gay club, but you have to be able to see what youre doing - weights, treadmill, etc. Gaaaaaah. Please fix. Please, please, pretty please fix. I need to be able see myself! :)Please get new music and mic equipment for the group fitness. The equipment is outdated and the music isnt easily controlled, the instructors (still) have problems with it and all. Its either too loud or you cant hear -______-They have a new validation system -good- takes less time for the front desk to swipe your cards. EH wrong! Its just as long. Bleh. Please anticipate towels when its hellva busy - on Mondays when there are concurring yoga, stretch, abs, sculpt, and spin classes between 5-8? ya? There is always a shortage of towels, both small and large. One time I had a half-assed dried towel. Taken out of the dryer prematurely. It was still wet. Thanks :PAlso, thanks for redo-ing the bathrooms. I kinda miss the old showers and the pervy shadow shower walls. But thats what made Crunch Sunset awesomeness. Its cleaner - and thanks to the staff to keeping it awesome. And the steam room works. WOOHOO. I think that alone deserves a bump up to 4*If I didnt love my instructors and classes so much - I would have left eons ago. Shout outs to - Tommy D, Hiro, Tanja, Peter, MaDonna, Colin, Kristen & Cristina, Kristina, Gerald, Jena, Tess, Amber, Harmonie. Also, my favorite gym rats...that make my life bearable here. Please, please bring back LaBlast and Willem!!!
