I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and I understand that everyone has bad days (weeks or even months), so Im even less likely to leave negative reviews. But my experience with the Taper Imaging center was too extreme to not post about.My (Cedars-Sinai) doctor had ordered an MRI for a lower back injury I had recently sustained. The last time I had had an MRI was when I was a child, so I didnt realize that I had a choice about where to go or how many options for imaging there are out there (I just went where my doctors office told me to go) Had I been aware, I would have gone else where in a heart beat.First off, the soonest available appointment they had was in 3 or 4 weeks. Confined mostly to my bed, in pain, and wanting answers, the wait was very difficult to deal with. When I finally had the MRI done, the wait at the actual facility was long (over 2 hours for a lumbar MRI) and the staff was just okay- while they were not mean or rude, they were not especially pleasant either.It took about 2 weeks after the imaging (and having to call Taper a couple of different times) for the radiologists report to become available.At no point throughout the whole process, was I informed about cost or how much or how little my insurance would cover. When I got the bill later weeks later, I was shocked. Without my insurance, the MRI alone (without the radiologists interpretation) would have been over $5,500! With my insurance, it was a little over $1,500. For comparison, I since had to also have a cervical MRI and the new place I went to (a smaller, private imaging practice) charged $500 without insurance. My out of pocket was $80. That is over a 1000% difference!What pushed me over the edge was the following. After having my MRI done, I decided to see a doctor that wasnt affiliated with Cedars, so I wanted a CD copy of my imaging for my new doctor to review. I requested the CD on June 5th, which should have been plenty of time to receive it before my appointment with the new doctor on June 24th. (because of Covid, they wouldnt allow me to pick up the CD in person; they had to send it to me by traditional mail). 5 or 6 days before my doctors appointment, I still hadnt received anything, so I called the people at Taper. They let me know the CD had likely gotten lost in the mail and, because this wasnt there fault, my only other option was to for me to pay to Fed Ex the CD. Long story short, this ended up costing over $60! They absolutely refused to pay any portion of the extra cost. I was floored. If you charge over $5,500 for an MRI, I expected to have a physical copy of the imaging without having to pay even more money. I understand all businesses/health care facilities have been hit hard by Covid, but that was absolutely ridiculous. When I purchase a product or service anywhere else (Amazon, for example), its the responsibility of the seller to make sure it is delivered. The cost shouldnt be pushed to me because the carrier they chose to ship me the CD messed up!Again, for comparison, I recently had to have a cervical MRI in addition to my first, lumbar MRI. This time, I went to a smaller, private imaging place. They got me in the next day, I left my appointment with a copy of the imaging CD, and the radiologists report came in the mail 2 days later! The people were friendlier and more efficient than the Mark Taper workers. The MRI machine they had was newer and the radiologists report was more thorough. Again, the cost was about $500 without insurance and $80 with.I was shocked by this whole experience. I would suggest avoiding this facility at any cost for your imaging needs.

Ive been to the Center last year and each time the service was excellent. Wait time was very very short! I was taken inside within 5 mins. They gave 2 huge gowns to cover the back and the front and also yellow socks for e to keep. Altogether I was fully covered. Technicians and nurses were friendly and knowledgeable which made it a pleasant visit.

We all know that Cedars-Sinai Hospital is world renowned West Coast medical facility. S. Mark Taper Imaging Center lives up to its reputation. Its conveniently located on the corner San Vicente, you can use valet parking for $10 or self-park your car for $5. I parked my car across the street at the mall parking lot, $1 for two hours. Everyone from the receptionist to registration to x-ray technician were friendly, efficient, and helpful. With little or no wait time I was called for my procedure. During my visit everything was explained to me at every stage. When done, I was escorted back to the lobby which was kind of nice.

They quoted me almost 3 times more than what I had to pay at Beverly Tower Wilshire advanced Imaging for ultrasound. To be specific : $359 vs $127. Fortunately, when I arrived to my appointment the receptionist upset me and I cancelled my appointment, which I had been waiting for 3 weeks!At Tower they took me in two business days!And parking is easy and free, too.Thank you nasty clerk!

I was check in ER at Provident Sant John Hospital, due to Shortness of Breath issue, after fewer week of open heart triple by pass surgery by different facility hospital. Steven J Levine MD. with the team of doctors at Provident Sant John Hospital post critical care had correct Shortness of Breath issue, as well follow up for second opponent with Dr. Jame D Moriguchi. This are amazing follow up test at Cedars Sinai imaging center, and review result by Dr. Raj Makkar MD. Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute. The result of review by Dr. Raj Makkar MD. is my condition healing are amazingly with Steven J Levine MD. had done correction with my Shortness of Breath issue after third week of discharge from Provident Sant John Hospital. I am graceful with the result, and sign up with Steven J Levine MD. as my primary cardiology.~Warrent Satt™
