We got a room block here for our wedding and it was an incredible experience - so easy to set up! As if that wasn’t enough, when we checked in the hotel and facilities turned out to be amazing. Our guests raved about the incredible spa, gym, and sports facilities and the hotel rooms and staff were also top notch. Also, the included breakfast every day was delicious! We recommend using them for your next event and hope to be guests there again soon.

This hotel is like a castle. I love how the building looks especially at night. This is very accessible for me, and the rooms and foods are very affordable. Their customer service and the experience were greatly appreciated and very commendable. The rooms were quite large, comfortable, and clean. I strongly recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay at LAAC. The room was clean and large - the king bed was very comfortable! All of the staff were kind! Although the neighborhood at night is a little sketchy, we found the central location to all the metro lines and great bars and restaurants to be really helpful! We’d definitely stay here again during our next trip.

Going to this hotel was like going back in time. The hotel and gym area are very 1920s/1930s. Never would I have guessed that a gym had a hotel on top. This is definitely a place for athletes in mind although all are well. The front desk attendant was so awesome in explaining the history of the hotel to me. Hotel has been around about a hundred years, really hard to believe. My room for the night was perfect. Great view. My only complaint would be that I believe a water cooler is used instead of air conditioning. Some of the items in the room felt kind of damp.

The general manager here is very unprofessional and not fit to manage a property of this nature. He cannot even conduct himself like a business man and take a phone call. His name is Steve Hathaway. I hope this is brought to the owners attention and it gets taken into consideration. The front desk staff is very nice and much more fit to handle such a position!

For what its worth, this is a beautiful gym both inside and out. While I have not been able to work how on the inside of the gym, I have still seen it and I cant wait until the quarantine lift so that I can enjoy the inside. However, these people more brilliant enough to master mind and Outdoors gym, and which they took some of the equipment and put it Outdoors. I get such great workouts from the way things are set up, and I dont have to worry about my health being compromised.Their parking structure is essentially set up for social distancing. Even though the gym is outside, the customer service skills and Hospitality are still up to par. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone that is looking for some state-of-the-art gym equipment, and some respectful employees.

I checked in and everything seemed to be perfect. Then we got up to our room and found no sheets on the bed and crumbs all over the desk. I called the front desk to only be told to come down and they would take care of us. We went downstairs and they let us know they had no more rooms. After a long flight back to LA we had to find a place to stay. I am so disappointed on how they handled everything.

I booked this through a third party. They didn’t disclose that check in is at 3pm. Im here for a Dr’s appointment. Literally waiting in the dining area to check in at 3. I’m cranky and tired. Lesson learned....next time I will call the location myself. Instead of listening to what hotel.com says. Because on the website it said check in afternoon. So I’m thinking 12pm. I booked my flight to coincide with the check in. I’m highly annoyed.

My review is for membership of the LA Athletic Club, not the hotel. I have been a member for the last ~1.5 years and have been very impressed by their response to the pandemic and health and safety of the members. The gym has largely moved outdoors into the parking garage which is considerably better equipped than other fitness facilities currently operating in DTLA. Their staff is highly attentive to the wellbeing of their member and I am grateful to have a place to safety work out during this pandemic.

Relaxation for guest is clearly a priority. If your staying as a guest make sure to pack your swim suit so you can enjoy the wide range of amenities from an Olympic size pool to the Neptune spa. In the morning enjoy a nice morning cup of coffee or tea at the poolside cafe. Wind down in the evening with any one of the multiple kinds of massages at the Neptune spa. Want to do something with your significant other. Why not try the restaurant on the 3rd floor. Want to have drink after dinner before heading to the room? A great athletic club! We were members here for years (pre-COVID). I used to swim a mile every other day in the gorgeous indoor pool on the 6th floor that Ester Williams used to swim in. It has a lovely view of the LA skyscrapers. I met Kobe Bryant here, when he was filming a commercial. There is a beautiful basketball 🏀 court. There are full workout facilities and a beautiful ballroom where they would have elegant events and fabulous buffets. Years ago, the buffets would have a gorgeous ice sculpture as a centerpiece, with caviar and champagne 🥂 🍾 . Also, the 8th floor is a fun place to hang out and shoot some pool. Parking is validated if you are a member. Some day, we’ll join again, after this COVID mess is over. Those were the days💕It has reciprocity with the New York Athletic Club and the Olympic Club in San Francisco, as well as other athletic clubs around the country.

The history of the building and the club is all around you, from the dark leather furniture to the trophy collections to the Wooden and Chaplin memorabilia. But the best amenity of the stay was the access to the gym, pool, and courts. Lots of equipment, barbells, and dumbbells for any type of workout, and a running track to keep your heartbeat up. The building itself is so so cool. Theres so much to explore here and so many offerings - restaurants, cafe, gym, bar... All nestled into a very cool looking building with different aesthetics on each floor. Staff is nice here and the room Im staying in is... Fine. The room was nice enough and they mixed the old with the new when it came to styling. Parking was only $20 a night with in and out access which isnt bad for downtown. They also offer a complementary shuttle service for the downtown area. Breakfast is included and the available hours were fairly long.Staying there also gives you access to the athletic facilities. Judging on the free weight equipment I used it was a bit old but in good enough condition. The weight of the weights available were heavy enough to get in a workout but there could be more weights and the free weight area was a bit cramped. A major inconvenience though was related to elevator maintenance. There are 4 shafts but there was only one working elevator. And it seemed like it was an ongoing issue.

LAAC is now so much better than a few years ago! I was a member here until about 5 years ago when it was dilapidated, in a sorry state: the jacuzzi in the mens side was not working and the lockers were gross. My only suggestion is to get better towels because they can easily replace sand papers.

Amazing location, incredible history, and comfortable rooms. We stayed in a single king room on the corner of the building and the view was beautiful. You can see the beautiful downtown Los Angeles skyline, as well as all of the beautiful, historic architecture. Our room had great amenities, but it is a little older. The tile in the bathroom is faded and the bathroom is small, but it was fine for the two of us. The bed was enormous and incredibly comfortable! We had a hard time waking up because it was so lovely. We did have a little trouble sleeping because it is in downtown, so there are bars and sirens throughout the night, but the LAAC doesn’t have control of those things so I don’t feel they should be held accountable for them.We did do a lot of exploring of the building and that was pretty incredible. The range of rooms for different sports, the sixth floor pool and basketball court, the Ballrooms and Bar and hidden speakeasy; there was so much to see!We went up to the roof in the morning and it was absolutely stunning. The skyline was gorgeous and it really was very quiet and peaceful (this was Sunday). We only had a little bit of time to walk around, but there is tons to see and do in downtown! We walked to Pershing Park and a little cafe, but there was much more we wish we could have seen. The staff was super friendly when we arrived early. They let us leave our bags and walk to lunch.Overall, lovely hotel, wonderful facilities, loud at night but don’t hold it against it!
