I was treated for stage 4 brain tumor. It was a long time ago. Only 4% with that tumor at stage 4 lived that year. The nurses were typically quite nice. Though I would say that some of the staff might not have been particularly friendly, the medical treatment was excellent. I think that as much as a pediatric hospital may want to provide a totally child-friendly staff, it must be difficult for thoughtful people to work with severely ill children day in, day out and keep a cheery manner, aside from whatever challenges they may be facing themselves.

I would expect a clinic that deals with children that are diagnosed with cancer to treat these children better. They do not care about what families are faced with and provide no comfort to the kids. Children that are going through chemo and so much pain sit in the lobby and aren’t even provided anything to do to ease the worries. Yet the other clinics treating children with less critical issues have book, activities and are given toys.
