My experience with Dr.Benson was atrocious. He was late to the telehealth appointment by over ten minutes. Despite spending only 15 minutes total with me (during which it became abundantly clear that he was not a good fit, and that I would NOT be moving forward to have him as my family doc) the charge to my insurance company, plus copay, was OVER $250 FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING—NO MEDICAL CARE OR ADVICE. He has no bedside manner, no experience with LGBTQIA+ people or their families. He said he prescribed me a medication WHEN HE ABSOLUTELY DID NO SUCH THING, and I would not trust him to be a good listener in general. My impression of him is that he is a money hungry, callous, uninformed, pompous asshat, who enjoys his privilege, and who is the furthest human removed from a compassionate physician as he can possibly be. I would give him NEGATIVE STARS IF I COULD.

Wish I could post ZERO STARS. First visit to a Dr. in nearly 10 years. Came in saying I have BP issues. He walked across the room...never touched me, and prescribed anti-depressants and told me to get therapy and exercise. My next visit...5 days later, my BP was 222/107. His first comment was have you been hiking, like I told you? Dude, its 102 in the shade...Are you trying to kill me? After finding a Real doctor, several months later, I was told I had a heart condition. I am now in the hands of an actual doctor. F-U Dr. Benson ... No wonder you were the only one with an open appt.

This is not a review on UCHEALTH but on Dr. Eric M Benson.I have been running 104-105 degree fevers the last three days and struggle to control them with Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I have no other symptoms pointing a root cause. I have been travelling to north Africa recently.On Sunday, I managed to get a regular appointment with Dr. Benson who is not my primarily but he was the only one with an opening. In the meantime, I was advised by an on-call registered nurse and a an on-call doctor to wait it out and not to go to ER. I arrived to my appointment with a 5 minute delay (9:20 to a 9:15 appointment). 5 MINUTES. in my condition, i have a little slower start plus was driven by a student driver. To my greatest surprise, I was asked to go to Urgent Care or reschedule for later in the day. Provided, I will be running another bad fever in the afternoon, I chose to go the UC route.It’s mind blowing to me that a 43-year old otherwise healthy patient with unidentified root cause, running 104+ temps, recently travelling to Africa is kicked out of a an empty (there was no one in the waiting room besides me) clinic for being 5 minutes late.

Best family doctor ever.
