We enjoy walking the track in the mornings and evenings as well. The distance markers are great way to gage your walk/ run. Its just a hair under a mile around the loop. Very picturesque with the ducks around the pond as well. There are an abundance of RV sites with electrical hook ups and shower facilities as well. Great place to spend the day with friends and family too for BBQ. Horse shoe pits and reserveable party areas round out the parks offerings.

Its a relatively cool park as far as open space goes (drone flying is recommended here). Theres a clean pond with fish and ducks, great for ambiance, aesthetics, picnics you know the deal.

They have signs everywhere saying that tent campers must camp in designated areas, and if theres anything they communicate well, its that you dare not camp in an RV spot with tents!!! So when you go to the tent camping area, the ENTIRE tent area is closed down. Registrations on the posts indicate several folks have been there for a very long time, with no intention of leaving.Meanwhile, unattractive, unaccommodating, unhelpful (no one there to administer/ help: its all done via envelopes and drop-offs).Itll be a hotel tonight: disappointed in Lompoc.

Apparently, it their policy to put a family of 5 out of their spot because someone in the family changes jobs...California is in a housing shortage and a pandemic. This is not how a paying patron should be treated. We have done nothing wrong and we attempted to pay a week early. The reason given was because my husband no longer works at the same company he did when we moved into the long term spot, our contract is null.Update, it would appear that the the ranger wanted our spot! She promptly moved in after targeting us...

This is a homeless encampment called a campground. I drove from Pismo Beach thinking I could stay here over the weekend and then head back to Pismo on Sunday. I cant believe this is operated by the City of Lompoc, what a dump. I felt unsafe even just driving through let alone staying the weekend. The sign clearly states there is a 21-day maximum stay, clearly, that isnt enforced because it literally looks like some of those trashy RVs have been there for years. Dont waste your time. I would have taken pictures but didnt stay.Anyone giving this place more than One Star isnt credible.I plan on writing a letter to the City describing my experience.

Campgrounds includes a hike and bike area currently under renovation. Has code equipped lcoks on communal his/ her bathrooms with showers that are coin operated. So bring quarters! Bathrooms really need better and more consistent cleaning throughout the times open to camp visitors. There is ony opinion a serious lack of consistency in regards to rules, regulations, and enforcement of rules that are involved with staying at this park. Campgrounds have R.V. sites with hook-ups but minimal. Camphost who resides there is pleasant but difficult to find as well as other staff. Rangers seem to pick and choose when they and who they enforce anything their paid to enforce. Some are helpful and accommodating. Theres a dumping site for non visiting R.V.s. Plenty of parking, bathrooms are wheel chair accessible. Playground and public and BBQ along with small lake style fishing pond beyond R.V. site area. Plenty of parking there and restrooms and playground and grassy areas. Landscaping is fairly kept up. Ducks and Geese reside near by lake. Gates to that area are open from dial until dawn. All in all park isnt the greatest but offers campers and visitors a place to come and at least get out of town who are locals and offer visitors. FYI, make sure you communicate with camp staff on all guidelines and space availabiltíes. I recommend calling or visiting their website for up to date events, rules and regulations

This is a fairly nice park to take a walk in. It has a walking trail located at the north end of the park. There are parking spots located in that area. If you walk in, please pay particular attention to the traffic in the camping area. Also, please be aware that there are rattle snakes in the area on occasion (cooler months mean less of a concern). There are public restrooms located here as well.

The park is nice and the RV accommodations are fair. Tent camping here is quite unfortunate. The class system is alive and well here. They will not let tent campers pay the RV fare to stay in a halfway decent site. As someone who enjoys camping but doesnt need an RV, River Park doesnt have much to offer.

River Park is a great place to stay with the family. Weather you are staying 3 days in the tent site or 21 or less days in the TV spots. I have noticed people who would like to live here avoiding the park ranger but let me tell you from lots of personal experience that the ranger wont break the rules for any one but they will work with you, if you simply ask your questions and present your concerns. Great location. Great weather. Love staying here. Neighbors are helpful and kind.

A rather nice park. I went there for my fiftieth class reunion. The pavilion we were in was neat and clean. There was a childrens playground right next to it. There was a good sized brick barbecue we put to good use. Even the port-a-potty wasnt bad. Seems like a good place for a picnic and a little family fun. I plan on going back the next time Im in the area.

River Park is the perfect place to take young children. There is a large pond that has its own fishing tournament every year! Ive seen large catfish and trout caught. Of course the pond comes with its own gaggle of geese and ducks! But watch out for the geese! Those birds had my son and I stuck on top of a picnic table screaming for help when we ran out of bread to feed them!! The park also offers r.v. and some tent camping, horseshoe pits, an exercise walking path, a toddler playground and a bigger kid playground, and all sorts of picnic tables with BBQ pits beside them so you can make dinner at the park. And if you forget anything a Circle K store is just a 10 minute walk to town! It a day of family fun!

Riverpark can be a beautiful place to Camp especially when the flower fields are in bloom. The park has a couple things I like they have a small Lake where you can fish and the riverbed itself where you can walk. The only issue I have is that its located on the outskirts of town and there really isnt a safe way to walk into town because you must cross a bridge that is not pedestrian-friendly. Otherwise its a great place for the day or a couple days they have both the camp site where you can pitch a tent and they have places for RVs with full hookups.

Heads up for CYCLISTS: the campground has closed their tent camping until February due to maintenance. Theyre having a transient problem. We arrived Christmas Eve, planning on staying 2 nights, to find a sign posted that tent camping was no longer available, which they did not state on their website. Its been unavailable since October. After calling the host, who called the ranger, we begged if there was any way we could stay just 1 night since it was Xmas eve. After the ranger calling his supervisor, they finally agreed to let us pay the RV Price ($30) and stay just the 1 night at a RV site. We had to get a motel the second night since we wanted to take Xmas off. They were kind to let us stay the first night, but it took a lot of convincing and theyre very strict that no tents are allowed. Bummer for cyclists.

Sadly, this park has fallen into disgrace over the years. There is only weeds, dirt, & dying trees. The roads have huge lumps from umkempt tree roots. The pond is scummy & full of garbage. The Ranger never comes around, so people terrorize the ducks. The rvs that park here have broken down cars on the lots. There are random pits in the ground here-&-there, throughout the park. The restrooms are just atrocious & rarely have tp, let alone soap.As much as I hate to say it, this should be sold & made into a nice gated community or something. Atleast that would bring tax revenue, since this town is broken. Nice houses also wouldnt be an eye sore.

Still same issues with RV spots, they actually HOLD spots for contractor employees from VAFB. Official policy is NO RESERVATIONS. It has always been the rule since the park opened.Rangers and camp host are very, well, discriminating with anyone that is not in a new $250,000+ rig. I have had owners of those new rigs tell me how they act toward regular folks.A few years ago had a pair of, since fired, rangers flat out say the rig i had just returned with after buying from an RV dealer in Colton, CA, of not being the owner, no registration in my name and flat said we stole it. They even denied the validity of that temp registration paper the dealer puts in the front window. I simply said to kick me out, write a ticket and tow it away....and while they would be busy dealing with that Id be happy to ask LPD yo come and assist them. I mean do they hire based on what? The applicate found the parking lot that day? Plus they gave these steller examples of Santa Barbara County Parks dept law enforcement. Sigh, it was funny.Rangers are much improved but keep an eye on them and the camp host. Honest but not the deepest thinkers who carry a gun.

The park itself is getting better from days past. The play structure is a new improvement for the kids and this place has always been good for large gatherings for events or birthday parties. The lake there is cool to fish in and feed the ducks that are there. Only thing is there hardley is any fish and when they do finally get around to stocking the lake nobody practices catch and release for fun. I saw a guy haul at least 20 big fish anywhere from 5 to 7 lbs. At that rate the lake is dry of fish within a couple weeks. Catch and release people, please the kids want to have fun. The trout have too many bones in them anyways. Other than that its a nice trip with the family when not windy if its howling wind out forget it this place gets terrible blockage from the wind and it will ruin the day in a hurry.

A beautiful park with a small lake and play place for kids. Plenty of room to stretch your legs or play a game of football. The park is huge....on the opening side of park there is camping available for tents as well as RVs and travel trailers. They have BBQs throughout park in case you cant bring your own. And they also rent out space for a party or get together. With a large BBQ pit. Dogs are welcome and almost everyone around there has one....lol. The only reason I gave the park a 4 star instead of a 5 star is because they have limited restrooms. Sometimes you have to walk a ways to get to the restroom. Anyways if you stop by the River Park make sure you bring some bread to feed those ducks....lol. And be prepared for a great time.
