Review №1

Dr. Gidday is well informed but lacks collaboration & bedside manner. She moves so quickly and misses things. Example - my last annual blood work showed ALT was significantly elevated and LDLs are elevated. She didnt mention either one while reviewing my blood work. Her words were everything looks great. I am grateful I asked to have it printed out.

I was looking for a general practitioner because my doctor had retired. I found Dr. Gidday at the end of 2018 and liked her on my first meeting. She did some routine blood work and I also provided her with the last 5 years of medical records and blood work results. At the beginning of 2019, Dr. Gidday asked me to do another blood panel and when we met about the results she informed me that I had a medium case of chronic kidney disease. I was extremely shocked because I see doctors on a regular basis and not once has another doctor indicated they thought I had chronic kidney disease. Dr. Gidday said that 2/3rds of people aging have chronic kidney disease, there really isnt much we can do about it and that we should just keep monitoring my situation. I asked if I should do anything with diet or exercise to help my situation and Dr. Gidday said I am already doing what I should be doing. Because I was in shock when I left, there were other questions I forgot to ask like, should I go see a specialist (Nephrologist), should I stop taking certain vitamins or taking powdered collagen, etc. So I called back the next day, spoke to Dr. Giddays medical assistant who took my questions to ask the doctor . After leaving messages over a 16 day period of time, I finally got a call back from Dr. Giddays medical assistant and she basically said that the ultrasound of my kidneys came back healthy, that I should say hydrated, they will keep monitoring me over the next year but there is no need to see a nephrologist. I was surprised that they would not recommend that I see a nephrologist so I told the medical assistant that I am the person who would like to be collaborative with their doctor on my health and to please ask Dr. Gidday again if she thought I could benefit from seeing a specialist. I got a call back 2 days later from the medical assistant and she said that Dr. Gidday says I am fine, that there is no need to see a nephrologist and that I should stay away from ibuprofen and Alieve. I was pretty upset when I heard this so I spoke to a friend of mine who is a nurse at DaVita, a company that specializes in kidney dialysis and she said I definitely should see a nephrologist because they call chronic kidney disease the Silent Killer because people dont exhibit symptoms of kidney disease until it is too late. I went to a nephrologist who after looking at my current blood work said that he was doubtful that I even had chronic kidney disease but he did some tests over a 4 month period of time and I got the call this last week that I do not have chronic kidney disease. So long story short, I have spent the last 8 months worrying that I have chronic kidney disease from the diagnosis Dr. Gidday gave me, unbelievable! And all of this could have been prevented if she would have just said, I see something in your blood work that doesnt seem right, I would like you to go see a nephrologist so we can get some more data. Needless to say, I will not go back to Dr. Gidday.

My wife was really not feeling well this morning. We called to see if we could get into to see Dr. Gidday. We were lucky to be able to get into see her this morning. Dr. Gidday couldnt have been more kind and patient. We were really worried. Dr. Gidday assured us everything would be okay and prescribed and over the counter medication that has worked wonders. Tonight my wife feels 100% better. We are grateful for Dr. Gidday.
