The office is nice. Modern. Clean. Organized. The Staff at the front desk are professional, considerate, and helpful.I even personally like the doctors and PAs here. I just dont like how they provide care. I often feel like not enough time or consideration is taken to address health issues.Example:I just found out that my step-son, who just turned 18, has a serious genetic disorder. He had physical and mental symptoms that were obvious do other doctors we saw outside of Pinon... symptoms that should have been caught by our family doctor LONG LONG ago. But little to no time or effort was spent to dig into the causes of his symptoms. Instead our copay was collected, another prescription written, and we were hustled out the door like cattle.

Absolutely love Dr. Scheeler!! Ive been seeing her for close to 15 years and I consider her a friend as well as my physician. Very easy to talk to about ANY medical issue. She takes the time to get to know you as a person - a rare find in todays medical world. Darcy found a lump during a routine physical and 13 years later Im here to tell you my survivor story!

I saw Dr. Scheeler as a faithful patient at their old office by Southwest plaza starting in the early 2000s. I SWORE by her care and genuine concern as a Dr., I never felt overlooked or unheard as a patient, and the front office staff was a dream....fast forward to the office growing and moving... All I can tell you is it is not abnormal to wait an incredibly long time (45 minutes was my running average) to get placed into a patient waiting room, then wait another half hour, then get rushed through your time slot with the Dr, and be treated terribly by the front office staff, it is altogether frustrating and completely ridiculous. It used to be that I knew I had time to actually sit and talk to Dr. Scheeler about my health, but once the office grew, I was lucky to get a few minutes before I was rushed out of there. Im just appalled at the lack of patient care and discourteous patient treatment. I wish Dr. Scheeler would break out in her own, because she is just lovely. I have found a new provider that is reminiscent of the old pinion offices and Im happy to say that there are still very caring and attentive providers out there.

Im a nurse, which you would think would make me an incredible advocate for myself, but in fact has always been the opposite as Ive always been more empathetic towards the MD and their staff - knowing how busy they are. In the past Id go to my Primary care physician with health concerns and leave feeling like I was crazy or a hypochondriac - with little investigation or insight from the physician. Id inevitably return to my life continuing to deal with these symptoms that were probably just due to stress. When I moved to Colorado recently I was very proactive in researching physicians - not only their credentials but personalities and overall health care philosophies. I though that Dr. Scheeler would be a good match for me and I wasnt disappointed. Dr. Scheeler has a great energy, she was truly engaged with me when we were speaking and not rushing out to get to her next appointment. Furthermore she was very clear and concise about my health care plan and what role we would both be playing to help me reach my health goals and address my symptoms. She investigated my complaints by examining me and drawing labs (whod have thought) - and guess what? My symptoms that Id been told for so long were stress induced were not. There was actually something going on. Im going to be a life long patient with Dr. Scheeler and I highly recommend her and her colleagues at the Pinon Family.

Learn from our mistake. My sons cardiologist (prosthetic heart valve installed when he was 3 months old) requested we get a DVT test due to some pain he has been experiencing in his legs. Not only did Dr. Quick argue that he should not have to do it (because he thinks he knows better than my sons cardiologist that has been watching my son since he was born), but he asked how long my son had the sniffles wrote a prescription and just handed it to my sons mother. When she asked if this was going to interfere with his warfarin his response was I dont know, that is a good question and he walked out. After enough arguing my ex wife finally managed to get them to order a DVT at swedish, but when she got there he had ordered the wrong test. We did finally get it all sorted out.The pharmacist warned me when i picked up the Azithromycin that it should not interfere with his warfarin, but encouraged me to look online as he saw several blurbs online of interactions.Sure enough when I looked online i found no shortage of case studies that had found correlation indicating that Azithromycin can inhibit the bodies ability to metabolize warfarin and skyrocket the effects of the drug. Needless to say, I just tossed it in the trash. (i am also wondering why he would prescribe antibiotics without verifying it was at least a bacterial infection as it would be useless against a virus anyway)The next week we had an appointment with my sons cardiologist (one of the instructors of cardiology at childrens hospital) and she did express concern about his actions and said it was a good decision not to give him the medication.Considering the appointment was made at request of his cardiologist, for concerns about his heart, which requires carefully monitored medication regimen of warfarin (which is generic for coumadin and probably one of the most common anticoagulants you will find) that he would be so cavalier about writing prescriptions which he admittedly did not know would affect my sons warfarin, when we never asked for medication, and were there for a test of which he (unqualifiedly) argued against. Also when asked about the interactions, he could not be bothered to even check. Despicable, negligent, and incompetent would be generous terms to describe his abilities.I cannot recommend Dr Quick to anybody, I would not even let him stitch my dog. I have heard good things about the other doctors, but we have fired them as our sons primary care group as i refuse to give another penny to a doctor office who employs such a doctor. The good thing about Pinion Family Practice is they have a well run scheduling desk. Aside from that i have had repeated other issues (minor but frustrating) and this is the straw that broke the camels back.
