Coming to Laurence’s African Hair Braiding has been and amazing experience. This is my fourth time coming. Rose is amazing with the Senegalese twists and Panda is super amazing with the box braids… She took out my twists washed and braided my hair in under 4 hours… Both ladies are super nice and braid so neatly. Let me also add I did not lose my edges…. This place is a must come…. Thank you again ladies ❤️❤️❤️ Laurence, thank you for making it all happen.

My sister had her hair done here and raved about the service. So I came in from out of town as a walk in and was blown away at how fast she cornrows and installed my crochet locks....OMG... I will have to come back and visit NYC and take a train to do it again!! Love my hair!!

My Hair came out Beautiful.. But Wish they Spoke with their Inside Voice.. And Less Chatter.. They Talked Too Much!! And Too Dang Loud they gave me a Headache...

Literally just came from this place and I don’t normally leave reviews but I’m irritated. I simply got cornrows to the back and my hair washed. Shouldn’t be more than $40. They charged me $20 to take out 8 big braids and decided not to tell me that until afterwards. To get cornrows was $60! FOR WHAT?!?! No design nothing. Next time they need to tell you exactly what everything cost BEFOREHAND. I even asked about the price of the wash so I’m confused why she didn’t think It was pertinent information to include the ridiculous price of the hair removal. Annoyed.

Thank you ladies!!! I love my hair!!! They were fast... I was in and out of there in no time!! (Pluss they dont braid too tight🥴🙌🏾) It was a very friendly, clean and safe environment... Plus!! Alllll of them had there mask on 😷... And they treated me like family 🥰 love it! Ill be back soon ladies!! Next month!!!❤️

I love this place. I have been coming for over 4 years. They are very fair with the prices. They make sure you love your hair when you come. I love the fact that I never have to wait when I come. I call and ask when can I come and it’s always a great experience. One time she went out of her way to take me and we didn’t finish until 1:00am.

I have been coming to Laurence’s hair braiding for years! She is family oriented and down to earth. She works with your schedule and hair type. I travel just to have her do my hair. I feel comfortable in the atmosphere that she provides. She is honest and understanding. Not to mention her work is always neat and put together. Thank you Laurence and staff!

I came here to get box braids and I regret it. It was too tight. My head was still in pain for a week. The lady had an attitude because I came in with my own hair and she wanted to overcharge me to use the hair that they had. Left it in a month and I have bald spots. Im never going to this place again. They dont know what good hair care is.

Came for Marley twists, thought I would like it thick, but changed my mind. Spent 20 minutes arguing over what could be done. No refund just told to come back the next day to have it re-done. I dont want to waste money so I didnt have much of a choice, but to go back to have them fix it again. Was told to pay an extra fee for them to fix it the way I want it. Unprofessional and they braid wayy too tight to where you lose your edges. My scalp hurt so much I couldnt sleep at all. Definitely wont be coming here again. I see why business is not booming here .

I’m the type of person to read the reviews because I like to experience things for myself and I called and spoke to a very nice woman named Mrs.Laurences who was super polite and listened to what I wanted....the other women in the shop are nice as well...I received beautiful long box braids and I can actually say I’m super pleased and happy about my decision to come here and check it out for myself, you can’t always believe reviews about a place because it can be other ppl or stylists bashing the salon just check it out for yourself ....Thank you again Mrs. Laurence I’m so in love with my hair I will be returning for a touch up and to bring my daughter

These people will definitely try to get over on you when it comes to pricing hairstyles. I came here some time ago and got box braids, due to their unprofessionalism I stopped coming but one day I needed my daughter’s hair braided bad and the location was convenient at the time for me plus I was last minute- taking a deep breath I went and asked how much they charge for box braids to see what they say and to prove my point they upped the price. I told the lady that is not what I paid before. If you decide to go there please remember your prices. Also, there’s a lot hairstyles they can’t do but will lie and tell you they can just to get your money. If you have an issue with something they did wrong, they get mad like you’re the cause of the problem and start talking in their language. They only get 1 star because I had to select one in order to write.

The place is ok been there twice for 2 braids One of the lady’s talks on the phone the entire time which diverts her concentration. She is kinda rude when she speaks to the client zzz her focus is on the phone when it should be on the client ! Not personable, the other lady seems way more into the client

I called they told me to come in at 5 I told them I wanted two jumbo braids. The lady kept saying ok as if she understood. I got there a little before 5 still waited almost an hr. A customer in the chair. Before me only had the back row of her hair done n she walked out. They never understood what I was saying the lady who was supposed to do my hair caught an attitude because I didnt want box braids n she proceeded to do someone elses hair who was getting box braids so someone else took over. The person who did my braids applied way to much gel n the back looks very sloppy. Not to mention the young lady that walked out her dad came to see why her hair wasnt done n they were very rude to him. This place is a mess. Dont waste your time

If u want hair follicle damage, this is place to go! No reason why you should feel pain for days during to tight braiding.

I got here at 9:15am just now walking out at 2:08pm there was no one here I was literally the first and only customer. The girl who greeted me couldnt do my hair and I waited 2 hours for someone to come. The style is not what I showed her a picture of and even after waiting all that time she still charged me full price!!! So unprofessional...she talked with her hands so she was ny doing my hair the whole time and on top of that she wanted to stop and talk on the phone and buy stuff off a man that came in to the shop! I will never come here again I should have definitely stuck to my original place...waste of money! My name is crystal idk why the review is posting under a new name. However I will not be back

I never EVER do a review! But Im here now. Ive been here since 10am and I am STILL here at 5:36 pm. Im only getting cornrolls!!!! One girl started my hair. Got sick. Laid on the couch. Another lady tired to finish. Didnt know what she was doing. When another worker walked in... the girl that was sick got up and took out the braids the lady took out and almost finished my hair NOW another lady took over! I ONLY gave one star so I could leave a review! Please do not come here a waste of time and money! Oh and the girl that was sick stopped braiding my hair to give out Halloween candy when there was two other workers present!!!! I thought she was sick!?

You walk in and they yell at you then you get your hair done and they are overly aggressive and inconsiderate to your pain Ive been slapped in the face multiple times as they prep the hair even worse they pull out your edges. I dont recommend this place to anyone
