Had a Nema 14-50 plug installed outside of my garage for my car. They were quick with checking my home, giving me the quote and contacting to schedule. They easily got the permit for me and took about 6hrs to install my plug. The two gentleman were professional, and did the job quickly. Plugged in my car and charged perfectly. Even helped out with ideas to secure my car charger. Would recommend, especially because they’re call center were easy to talk with and very prompt with responses. All this was done within 2 weeks, from the quote to my plug being installed.

TopTec is terrible!!!The technicians who completed our work unplugged our second refrigerator to charge their cell phones and to run a vacuum to clean up their mess. They failed to plug the refrigerator back in at the conclusion of their vacuuming and charging. We didnt notice this until two days later. We lost three garbage bags of frozen food and groceries from their negligence. I called to report the incident and that the work completed had dislodged sediment into our pipes causing them to rattle when water was running. The receptionist could not have been kinder. She said someone would call me on Monday. They called on Monday and offered to have a technician come back out to check on the rattling. We declined the offer and asked about compensation for the groceries. She said the Director of Operations was in a meeting and that they would call me back. I did not hear from the Director of Operations so I called again. The Director of Operations was in another meeting and would call me. It must have been some meeting since I never heard from them.It is not four months later and since I never heard back from the Director of Operations, I called today to inquire about the situation. They reminded me that they had offered to send a technician out. When I asked about compensation, they said no because I didnt have any photos of the lost groceries and five months had passed. At no time was I asked to take photos of the lost groceries.My advice is to call any other company you can find. TopTec has zero professional accountability!

TopTec the way to go! I had them clean my dryer vent earlier this year, so when my AC went out, I gave them a try. The call center was extremely courteous, just as friendly and helpful when I spoke with them last when I had my dryer vents cleaned.The tech, Dre, was punctual and extremely knowledgeable and friendly! He walked me through the entire process, went over the possible issues, diagnosed the problem, and fixed the issue. He also walked me through how air conditioning actually worked. He even gave me tips on how to save money by maintaining my air filters differently, as well as keeping my rooms cooler! And to top everything off, Dre and my dog couldn’t get enough of one another.If you’re in need of HVAC work, TopTec is the way to go. If you’re able to request a tech, Dre is the way to go!

Mostapha came to our house today and helped us so much! He replaced and fixed our dryer vents and air intake vent. Adam came to fix my AC. Did not fix anything, possible leak but did not fix it. Just changed the capacitor, added Freon and racked up charges more than $1300. A few days later, AC doesnt work, Adam says hell come back but doesnt. Called Maria who says you had AC for a few days. Very shady practice of continuous charge which only encourages their techs to rack up charges without fixing the real problem. These people do not care about customers. They only care about price gouging you. They charge 3-4 times more than others. AVOID!!!

They were brought in by our insurance company to replace an attic unit that had caused a minor water event less than a year ago. the new Lennox system doesnt seem to be designed for attic use as it is short cycling and freezing up. they keep coming up with silly things to blame it on. I feel bad for their clients that dont happen to know a little about HVAC. For minor repairs Im sure they are fine. they have fancy trucks.

Dre Latiolais came out this morning to check on an issue with our heating unit. He got here super quick, he was friendly and informative. He was quickly able to assess my heating unit and was able to give a thorough and clear explanation of what the issue was and how he fixed it. He also went above and beyond to remind us to change the direction of our fans with summer approaching. Overall great service and no complaints!

Dre was so knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. You can tell he likes his job and is good at it. So many other men and women Ive encountered over the years who service my HVAC are lacking his positive energy and enthusiasm about their job. TopTec installed a humidifier last month and their pricing was competitive, installation professional. I did not sign up for their HVAC biannual maintenance agreement as it did not seem to be competitively priced compared to other companies- Another company I have used in the past offered free labor and discounted parts if we paid into their maintenance agreement, but unfortunately Top Tec still charges labor/ charges for the call and only offer 20% discount on parts if needed. Their maintenance plan costs more per year than paying each time for bi annual HVAC routine maintenance. So Im not sure its worth it.

Adam was our technician for the past couple visits. He is very professional and thorough. He also gives helpful energy saving tips each time he comes out to service our AC/furnace. I appreciate that the scheduler tries their best to send someone out ASAP when I do have a problem. Adam is also very calm and methodical which puts me at ease when he arrives to troubleshoot any HVAC issue.

As a small business owner myself, it pains me to leave negative reviews. I requested a quote for a preventative maintenance contract on two HVAC units on the roof of our building. The technician told me Id get a quote by the end of the day. That didnt happen. I waited two full days after before following up and was told upper management needed to get involved and this would stretch into Monday. Its now Monday and I called again to find out they still arent done and it would be Tuesday. Im now looking elsewhere as Im led to believe my business isnt important to them. As far as Im concerned, its important enough for me to leave a review.*Update - the owner responded to my review and asked me to call and speak to the [completely unapologetic] office manager who couldnt get a quote completed for me in four business days. No thanks, my time is too valuable. You had your shot and Ive already found someone else to get the work completed for me.

For years i have had problems with my a/c going lukewarm for a couple of weeks and then randomly getting cold again. i have paid hundreds of dollars to many places over the years to come out, with no real solution. today Robbie came out and identified 2 wires that were not screwed in all the way, causing them to be loose and unstable. he tightened them up and it immediately fixed the a/c. he was very professional, skilled, and made sure that the issue was truly resolved before leaving. thank you so much!!

Way over priced. I have an older AC unit recently repaired by TopTec (Adam) and was charged TopPrice. A dual capacitor replacement (including diagnosis) is ~$500, and a quick google result shows $120-$250. R22 Freon was $210 per lb, where $90-$150 was found normal. The phony excuse was everything is more expensive because of Covid... and if I replace my unit with them, cost can be credited to the final total. This sounds, looks and smells like a trap... will not come back.

After several sessions of appliance disconnection and reconnection we finally got our kitchen floors relaid correctly. I didnt realize that TopTec had added plumbing services several years ago so when our regular plumbing company couldnt come out to reconnect I called TopTec. Alan was great, he came in, checked our hookups (I couldnt live without a sink for one more day), and reconnected my much missed range! Thanks Alan and TopTec, you were a lifesaver.

Overall TopTec did a great job installing a new refrigerator line, with a double shut off valve, plus they replaced my secondary main water supply cut off. Work was top notch, plumber was on-time and cleaned up well from the aftermath. Their rates are on the higher side @ like $200/hr but I felt it was worth it.

Our water heater started leaking including no hot water on New Years Day, not the best way to start the new year. Called TopTec the next day, Saturday. Alan, their tech was here in a few hours to replace the water heater. Alan was very efficient, professional and did a great job. I was very impressed how quickly they responded and the quality of the work preformed. I would highly recommend TopTec.

Ive used Top Tec in the past for a pluming issue, so i thought id call them back for the issue I had with my furnace.When I initially called I was told that no one could come out until the following day. I expressed that i was concerned about how my furnace sounded and that I didnt want to be cold overnight. I was asked if I could hold so that she could check to see if someone could possibly come out the same day. Sure enough, there was someone and they came out diagnosed my problem. Gave it a temp fix until the part could be picked up and my issue with my motor was fixed the next day by noon.My technician was professional from time he was at my door, until he left.He told me (as soon as he took the cover off of my furnace), what parts were what and what they did, how they all connect and why I was experienced the problem with the motor. I gained a lot of knowledge and information about furnaces and learn a little bit about my Top Tech as well. Hes a top A professional!! Warm, friendly and knows his stuff. He didnt mind my questions, gave me my pricing upfront and worked efficiently to get the job done, just as he promised!Dr. Dre (thats his name) wore his mask and shoe booties. both days, for the entire visit. He has old school values and in my opinion, hes truly the real deal!!Bottom line: This company as a whole, cares and serves its customers well. You are sure to get the best service from beginning to end!

We had a water problem that needed a quick solution, a plumber from TopTec in Libertyville, IL. (Kenneth H.) came and provided an estimate. This guy is a clown. He insisted in changing something that needed repair for a new system (that he could provide) and rerouting some pipes. Kenneth provided incorrect/misleading information about the problem and a ridiculous estimate. Later in the day we had a second plumbing company. They were able to make the repair and explained that we did not need a new system and/or rerouting what we had (as Kenneth, the clown had suggested). The plumber from the second company was here for a little more than an hour , the total cost of parts and labor was about $330 and everything has been working well for more than 3 weeks. Plumbers and plumbing companies providing incorrect and misleading information should be reported to BBB (which we did). I have posted the information about my experience in my neighborhood site as well a my Facebook page so people in the area are aware of this company practices.

We recently purchased a house in Gurnee with a newer ac unit. But after just 11 months we had the AC serviced 3 times. Initially we used a company besides Top tec. They claimed they fixed the issue and filled the coolant and left. 2nd time(Early 2020) we called top tec and they did a full check and walked us through the options and what would fix the issue for summer and then end of summer schedule a simple cleaning and we could access if everything worked or bigger issue. 3rd time (AUG 2020) system did not make it the entire summer and multiple issues now coming to light. With the help of Adam Baker, we laid out all the options and what would be best for the long run. Eventually, we just replaced the entire unit. They were able to install the NEXT DAY; Full AC unit (OUTSIDE), coils (inside), and through on a humidifier in just under 6 hours. Once completed the crew informed us about the PM program and how to make sure you register the new unit for the extended warranty to protect our new unit.Everyone we have dealt with at Top Tec has been so knowledgeable and helpful through these stressful issues, we will be sure to use them again.

Adam from TopTec came out to my hole to service my furnace and humidifier. Besides doing the regular maintenance, he updated the wiring to my humidifier so that it would run even when my furnace wasn’t actively running to continue to help the humidity levels in my home as the temperature drops outside and my home gets dryer.Great Service

I have used Top Tec for the replacement of my furnace and now I called them to replace a toilet flange with a a toilet install. Brian King came within an hour and did a professional repair. It was done right and Brian had my flange and toilet installed. I know who I will call if I need a plumber.

I called TopTec to replace another toilet wax seal that has been leaking. I am a repeat customer based on my prior experiences with TopTec employees. Mostapha and Jesse were both professional and courteous while they were in my house working. I highly recommend this company for plumbing issues and will be calling them to for some electrical repairs we will need fixed. The owner came over and looked at my sump pumps and heating system and recommended a certain unit and how it would operate. In two days they completed everything. Neat clean had masks and gloves. The system is great and the pumps are quiet and efficient as I had requested! Cleaned up everything without any mess. Would recommend them for heating air conditioning and sump pumps and back up battery systems!

As the temperature was soaring into the 90s, our AC stopped working. We still had a Service agreement on the unit through Sears. They came out 3 days later and after checking they replaced the capacitor and the blower kicked on, so they left. Two hours later the unit stopped working again. Sears said they could come back in 2-3 days--UNACCEPTABLE. I called TopTec and they came out the next day. Juan, the Service Technician, was very thorough and quickly diagnosed the problem as the Blower motor. He left to go pick up the correct motor and returned and installed it within 45 minutes. The AC works perfectly now. Juan was great!! TopTec was the right choice--very responsive, professional, and fairly priced...overall a Great Value!! So glad I called TopTec! My AC went out late Monday night during the hottest week of the year, TopTec had it fixed before lunch the next day! When I called in the office was very accommodating and the tech that arrived, Dre, was very professional. He took the time to explain what was wrong, how it would be fixed, and gave tips on how to set up my home to most efficiently keep it cool. They were also very up front on what everything would cost before taking any action.

Living so far from my mother, I worry about her safety. During my most recent visit, I discovered that the A/C unit needed repair and the ducts needed cleaning. Being in town for only a couple weeks we needed quite a bit of work done in a short amount of time. Understanding my situation, they did their best to work with me. What I appreciated most was their willingness to communicate their limitations, listen to my concerns, and explain the technical issues in a way that was patient, professional, and understandable. In the end Mustapha and his team George, Tony, and Jake did a very professional job that my mother (hard to please) was happy with. I can have a sense of peace that the air she is breathing is clean and the work done was professional and complete.

Dre came out to clean and inspect a 10-year old Carrier. He came in the time window we had arranged. He called 25 minutes before arrival. He showed us everything he planned to do and explained it as well. He gave us recommendations for future considerations but told us why these wouldn’t be necessary for at least several years. Finally he had several tips about operating the unit at peak efficiency. Totally impartial and objective. Finally, the price was very fair. 100% peace of mind was the result.

Great Service by Adam , he was very professional , patiently explained us what the issue is and what is needed to fix the problem. He ordered the part and came back in couple hours and fixed it. I have called few other companies and they are at a higher rate and were asking for one and half charge for coming on Saturday, TopTech has reasonable rate and did not overcharge.

EDIT: I stand by my original review of Adam being fantastic, but when my AC went out again just a few weeks later I ended up calling a different company and found out I was grossly overcharged by TopTec. The service that I paid TopTec over $300 for would have cost me less than $90 by the second company. Lesson learned!Original: Adam was amazing! Can’t say enough about our tech Robert. He was very thorough at explaining what the problem was with our furnace. Fixed it without any problems. Got us up and running with heat and under an hour. Extremely knowledgeable and polite. Without a doubt what do use top tech again.
