Ashlee was a wonderful stylist — she had such a calm and cool demeanor, which made me feel calm and excited for a much needed change.I have very curly hair and was hesitant to get a much needed chop, but she handled my hair and concerns with care. She used great products on my hair, and recommended some products to use to better nourish my hair - which I did take her up on her recommendation. About two weeks ago, I had a photoshoot for engagement photos, and I let my hair be down and natural and curly, and actually felt confident and pretty - which I had not for a while … all thanks to Ashlee. I will be coming back to here from here on out !

As always I received an amazing haircut from Joyce today. She always listens to me and will not hesitate to tell me what she thinks will or will not look good. After spending time seeing what I liked or did not like with my hair Joyce delivered with a exactly what I was asking for. On top of that Ashley (another amazing hairdresser) and Joyce spent time giving great recommendations on products and styling tools. Truly great, sweet, and talented girls at this salon!!!

I have been going to Blue for years and have always had a great experience. The hairdressers really know their stuff and are pleasant to work with. When I get a cut and blow dry they explain the process and reasons for choosing different products etc. and its clear they know more than I knew there is to know about hair.

Beautiful service and atmosphere, the girls at Blue will treat you with kindness and respect. I came to get my hair styled for a civil ceremony/e-shoot. I ensured my stylist knew that I would need the style to hold at least until 4-6 PM (hair was being done at 11 AM) and she ensured me she would secure the style with enough product to hold. While I understand that it was a hot day, my hair style fell apart by the time I got my make up done (just 1-2 hours later) and by the time I had my ceremony and did my photos, my hair was unfortunately frizzy, the curls had fallen out and the front pieces had a stringy appearance due to the product. While normally Im pretty laid back about beauty, this was upsetting since my civil ceremony photos will hopefully be with me a lifetime and my hair was not what I had hoped for.

My daughter has very curly hair and super dry too. When I called the staff was very helpful and Joyce was giving my daughter the cut. WE LOVE IT. VERY PROFESSIONAL, HELPFUL, NUCE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. We definitely come back there and also for me next time. JOYCE IS AWESOME

Joyce, the hair technician cut my hair, partially highlighted it, toned it, glazed it, then blew it dry, and did a most outstanding job. I am very pleased with the outcome. This is a great salon, with affordable prices (for Lexington).Joyce is able to take my unruly wavy hair and make it look so good. She listens to my hair needs and then gives me exactly the cut I want, and the best advice on how to care for it. She also is a brilliant stylist -- just bring in a picture, and she can do it!She also cuts the 4b curly hair of the nine-year-old in my life. So if you have waves or curls, Joyce will take amazing care of your hair, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.Also, shes just fun to chat with. I look forward to my appointments.

My first time getting hair colored and Stephanie gave me exactly what I was looking for - a way to cover up just enough of my grays without making it look drastic. The cut was great, too. Finally, their COVID precautions were just right - temp check, sanitizer, socially distanced seating, everyone in masks or shields, wipe down of equipment, etc.

Ive been meaning to sit down and write this review for months, but I think that it even more powerful now that Ive witnessed all stages of the cut. I am not the typical Blue customer- I usually spend about 20 bucks on a haircut and have had the same hair style since high school. I had no idea what I was in for when I won a gift certificate to Blue. As others have said, they treat their clients extremely well and the stylists work as a team which was fascinating to watch. Paula really styled my hair to fit my head and hair and it was radically different from any type of haircut I had had before. They cut more hair that I had expected and Im completely embarrassed to say that I absolutely freaked out about it initially. It was such a new way of thinking about my hair that I wasnt prepared and gave poor Paula the full force of a mini midlife crises. I include this mortifying detail because what happened next speaks to the integrity and professionalism of the salon. They immediately contacted me via phone and email, scheduled an appointment to show me how to style it, and gave me the tools to do it. Long story short, I LOVE this haircut. Because each of Paulas styles are specific to the client, she was able to cut my hair in a way that freed me from hairdryers and hot rollers- an amazing time saver. She told me that the cut would grow out beautifully and she was correct- I still get compliments on it months later. So if you are looking for a place with the vision and skill to bring out your best hair, this is a great place to turn. I just wish Id had Paula cut my hair decades ago!

Gabrielle is the best hairdresser I know. She spends time working with what you, the customer, want and also how she sees would look best. She cuts incredibly well and will give a lot of feedback and then even some tips at the very end on how to keep your hair looking how you want it to look everyday. All in all, Blue is a salon that will cater to all of your needs. From the beautiful decorations, to the music, the cleanliness, the care, the talented Gabrielle... there are so many amazing things that Blue has to offer. They even provide complimentary drinks (including wine if youre above 21).

I love blue!!!!! Six years ago I left a famous hair salon in Newton. At that time I wanted a great cut and color at a much lower price. There are no deals in the salon world. I won’t go anywhere else! I have no concern when they do my hair and I’m extremely picky, and I’m also a cheapskate in general but they are worth every penny to me! And with complimentary wine and amazing staff it really can’t get better!

I have male pattern baldness in the front. I have been struggling for a while to find a stylist who is good at managing this problem. Tanya Rose has been excellent at helping me with this situation. Hip salon in downtown Lexington, great for all ages. They helped renovate my look to one that was a better fit for my style, coloring, and natural curl.

Tanya Rose was kind and treated my 8 yo like his own person. He was very happy-- and the cute was AWESOME!

Not coming back… Expensive and lacking focus on customer needsI was looking for a place close to my work and just recently had my hair colored at Blue. The color was fine but for a single processing (Nectaya Goldwell color) I paid $125 , whereas at Newbury Street you only pay only $60. They also don’t offer few highlights and force you for a partial highlights, so I can’t say they are customer focused, it feels that driving the sales is more important to this salon than customer requests and new customers.In summary, I will disagree that Blue worth every penny. I has been coloring my hair for the last 10 years at the high end salons and … I am not coming back to this one …. very disappointing .

Already got a compliment just 30 minutes after leaving the salon!
