Dr. Barkoff was awesome. Got my son an appointment same day for an ingrown toenail. He went over everything with him, asking many times how he was doing while his procedure was going on! My son & I really liked him. Will be going back when needed & glad I found him!

I came to Dr. Barkoff with bunion pain and flat feet issues. He has been a great help, always optimistic and suggesting options to improve my foot pain without surgical intervention. He advised a course of laser treatments which, along with insoles and stretching exercises, reduced my pain significantly. Although my issues are not completely resolved, I appreciate how patient the doctor is, and how he is willing to try new things. He listens, and genuinely cares about addressing foot pain and its impact on quality of life, without jumping straight to surgery as the only fix. I am glad I found him as my podiatrist.

Dr. Bark off really new his stuff and I will be returning to them as I need to go there. He gave me some medicine for my gout and it is helping tremendously. Dr. B was so nice and caring.I will give the a A plus!

Dr. Barkoff’s orthotics have changed my life. Every pair of shoes that I wear I must use his inserts or I have trouble walking. With the inserts, I am good to go on long walks with the dogs, hiking, tennis, and even walking the mean, hard streets and concrete of NYC: Thank you Dr. B.

Dr. Barkoff came highly recommended to me by a friend . I could hardly walk when I got out of bed in the morning due to Plantar Fasciitis. Dr. Barkoff explained that he wanted to treat it conservatively and he gave me some exercises to do. He said that if that didn’t work , there were a few next steps we could take, but that I should try some ibuprofen and the exercises first. It was MAGIC! I was diligent and sure enough, my pain started to subside. Within 10 days it was totally gone . I had this once before and the podiatrist I went to immediately recommended cortisone shots and other expensive therapies. I was thankful for Dr.Barkoff’s conservative approach. I was also impressed with his friendliness and professional manner which followed through to his entire staff. I would highly recommend this practice.

Been suffering for my ingrown toenail infection for months already. I’ve been advised by my primary care to see a podiatrist, but I’m to scared to see one, not until I met Dr. Barkoff today. He explained the process very well before starting the procedure. And now I am very happy, I don’t need to worry at all. Great medical office, fantastic experience from start to finish. Starting off, the receptionist worked patiently with me trying to get an appointment as soon, as possible, but also that fit into our crazy schedule. Then, when we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff, and taken right in. Dr. Barkoff was exceptional, taking time to be very thorough during the examination, and answering my many questions with patience and grace. In a time where many medical offices can feel cold, and impersonal, this office felt warm and inviting.

I met with Dr. Barkoff for a pain in the heal on my foot. The staff was friendly and I was seen promptly. Dr. Barkoff assessed my foot and was very thorough in examining me - after taking an x-Ray he ruled out any stress fractures and diagnosed me with Plantar fasciitis; he provided me with adequate stretching instructions for how to try and get rid of this pain. I’m happy to say that so far it has worked! I highly recommend Dr. Barkoff and this office.

While New York is a fun place to visit, when we arrive our first stop is to see Matthew Barkoff DPM of New West Podiatry on the upper west side. Dr. Barkoff is the best! We found him through a friend referral, and I actually travel from Texas to New York to visit his office and receive treatment. I have had problems with both feet for several years now. Not only was it affecting my ability to exercise, but even my everyday activity. Dr. Barkoff has given me the freedom, and most importantly, the comfort, to do all of these activities again, pain-free. Thank you Dr. Barkoff and New West Podiatry!

I have been having sporadic ankle pain that would not go away for several months. I eventually decided to see a specialist (my GP would only mention physio therapy, which I did myself at home but wouldt fully resolve the problem). I checked Dr. Barkoff based on a family recommendation. I was happy to get an appointment within 48h. When I arrived at the appointment, I was met with a nurse then with Dr. Barkoff promptly. He listened to my description of my problem attentively. After taking X-rays, he arrived at a diagnostic and suggested several treatment options. I selected one, which he began to implement immediately. So far it seems to be working. I am very happy with the visit. The NYC practice is small and low key. There was no wait time. The doctor is attentive and to the point. I would definitely recommend to others.UPDATE--I am now down to my third visit. We started another treatment that is based on laser therapy. This seems to work. I am still very happy with Dr. Barkoff and with this particular practice. I especially appreciate the fact that appointments start on time and that the NYC practice is pretty convenient to access.

My children have been seeing Dr. Barkoff for almost 10 yrs now , since they were little for ingrown nails .I just had a 5 yr lapse since we saw him last and his office (Nicole) scheduled me almost immediately and helped me gather all I needed to get the proper referral I needed from my primary . She stayed on top of it and informed me on every step knowing my son was in pain and needed the appt ASAP. Once there Kayla was great for the intake and Dr. Barkoff was informative , friendly and attentive. He handled my sons issue with ease . I am Very happy with the treatment , the office and Dr Barkoff.I Highly recommend

My 12 year old daughter saw Dr. Barkoff this morning for a long standing painful wart on the ball of her foot. We both absolutely loved him! He was understand and informative. He was patient with her and put us both at ease. We were recommended by friends who are also patients who also feel the same way. We are so happy we went to him for a second opinion!!

After the retirement of our familys long time podiatrist, I was at a loss for finding the same level of skill, care, and concern elsewhere. At the recommendations of several of my friends, I made an appointment for my 100-year-old mom with New West Podiatry. Since my friends had used both Dr. Barkoff and Dr Ferguson and had equally high respect for both, I took the first available appointment which happened to be with Dr. Barkoff. He treated my mom skillfully but extremely gently. Since it was just before the Covid lockdown, I was able to see how pleased the other patients seemed with their care also. So, my husband became patient number two and I soon made an appointment for myself. Between the three of us, we have had nail care, orthotics (the most comfortable I have ever had), and even a series of laser treatments, and we have been pleased with every single visit. They are extremely open and honest about the cost of care and what results can be expected vs what cannot be guaranteed. I was happy that I went ahead with the series of laser treatments which was successful in restoring feeling to my foot, allowing for better weight distribution with a very bad knee on the other side. One other thing - my pet peeve is being put in an exam room and feeling that you have been totally forgotten. That never happens at New West. If there is any delay at all (which is rare), the staff and even the doctor make sure you know your status and that you have not been forgotten. Having worked for doctors for many years, I now use only those professionals I feel I can trust. New West Podiatry has earned that trust for my family and I.

We turn people away all the time as she smiled at me enjoying denying me my appointment. The doctor was there and also said all well to me. They enjoyed turning me away and laughed when I explained how I had to miss work to make the appointment.
