I had been going to this doctor since 2019, and I never had an issue with them. On the contrary, I always spoke with the receptionists politely and the doctor always took my physicals. Ordinarily, Id give them 5 stars just because they got the job done.However, about two weeks ago, I went to see them for a particular issue regarding work. Once I explained that I needed documentation, the doctor said I would have to write the letter because he was too busy to write it himself. I emailed the document to the office and actively called the office and the doctors personal cell over the next few days to follow-up on whether he had signed it. After three days of leaving messages, he returned my call and gave the phone to his wife. I explained that I would like the doctor to sign the letter for work, as he said he would if he approved of it, and she stated that it was policy to charge $100 for this service. Im paraphrasing here, but I essentially said its outrageous that you would charge me $100 to sign a letter that I myself wrote. The doctor said hed sign the letter if he approved of what I wrote, but he mentioned nothing about a fee for doing so. I explained to them on the phone that I would like them to reconsider charging me a fee, because if they didnt, they would lose me as a client. She said, go ahead and now I have a new PCP.I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. They lost a client because of their greed and they clearly have no loyalty to their existing customers. They would rather extort their patients for a short-term profit than have a returning client, which is more financially valuable in the long-run. They ultimately lost out.Its my intention to file a complaint with the appropriate government departments. Im usually a very calm and mellow person, and I very rarely let things bother me. But the kind of greedy behavior exhibited by this office is a textbook example of extortion, and they deserve to be reported. If I can save any future patients from such behavior, Ill consider it a good deed.
