She was very professional, thorough and cares about my overall dental health. She explained to me everything that needed to be done and help me through with the process. She’s amazing! I had a great experience here. They were able to accommodate my schedule by giving me a Saturday appointment. Marie, the dental hygienist, is an absolute gem. She took such great care of me during my cleaning, was incredibly thorough, and managed to remove a few stains that other DHs at other offices hadn’t even attempted. They were fast, efficient, professional, and caring. No one looks forward to going to the dentist admittingly, but I dont mind going to Island Smile in Levittown.

Very clean & pleasant atmosphere. Detailed explanations of billing. Appointments made are followed through rather than patients being overbooked. Almost always will be walked right to the back. Save yourself the time of searching other places in the area, this one will be the right choice.

Everyone was very nice. Only had an X-ray and cleaning so far but I’ll definitely be going back to get some existing issues taken care of as well as some cosmetic work.

My daughters and I are clients at Island Smile Dental. They are very professional, courteous, and friendly. The facility is clean and free of Covid 19. When it comes to scheduling, George does his best to accommodate you.. My daughters are very comfortable having a procedure done. We have not felt any pain during a procedure such as; a cleaning or filling. We would recommend Island Smile Dental to everyone.

This is the first time I have ever gone to a dentist, and left feeling like I might actually like going back! Dr. Mekawy took the time to talk to me about my options for the work I need done. George at the front desk was super nice, as was the girl who took my x-rays. Highly recommend.

I walked in as an emergency with an infection. From the beginning they treated me with professionalism and care. I AM VERY AFRAID of the dentist. They were patient and told me what to expect. Everyone was so nice and calming. They made me confident to go back and get the additional work done I need. Just as an FYI the cost was so much less than I thought it would be. I would recommend highly.

Dr. Mekawy is an amazing dentist! She was very gentle and explained everything very thoroughly. The office is very organized and clean. The staff are very professional and kind. They have no wait time and were able to get me an appointment fairly quickly!

Love this dentist and staff so much! George the receptionist is the sweetest guy and always makes you feel at ease when talking to you. I have been going to this practice for sometime and everyone is friendly and professional, I just called them because I had some pain and they scheduled me within the hour and I went there and Dr. Mekawy took care of it. She is above and beyond.

Island Smile Dental has been my new place to go! The front desk is super helpful and personal. He made the start of my experience very welcoming! Maria is simply the best dental hygienist I have ever met with. She showed me my X-Rays and explained everything. She was super caring and personal. I received a deep cleaning from her and she was so gentle I felt no soreness after. She deserves endless amounts of stars! The Dr. was also very sweet and did a great job on both my filling and impressions for PerioProtect. I wish I knew about this place earlier! I think everyone should experience dental care the way I do at Island Smile Dental.

Just make sure you speak to your insurance company!!!!!! I went in for a consultation on Friday and to be honest the doctor was so nice and so was the hygenist... they went over the procedure to me and we over cost as well.Well here the issue! 1. George told me it would take him 2 weeks to get back in touch with me about my insurance and how much I would have approved! I called my dental insurance and they approved it same day!!!!!!!!2. Because I have really good dental insurance I called and asked questions they advised me that this dentist is actually apart of their PPO provider and thats great because they can only bill me a certain amaout!!!!! ( I called 2x spoke with 2 different agents)I called George back and informed them my insurance sent in the approval- He quickly looked and said oh they onlybwill cover 1000 so you have to pay the rest... when I explained what I was told about being OvEr charaged for dental work “ he simply replied” thats not how it worksI then called the insurance company that said well call him and we can explain it to him because He SHOULD KNOW! I just lost all desires to go there and now I dont truat themI was charged over $3000 of what I am suppose to pay!!!! so please call your dental insurance company to get the break down as well as review the explaination of benefits.... Just be careful!

Had to have caps put on my teeth here years ago. Terrible job. Couldnt floss between my two front teeth after the they were applied. Went back to have them fixed and still am not able to floss between them.One of the caps just fell out which I wish I could say was the first. Dentist I saw later was shocked at the horrible work. So now I have to have them all redone.Dont waste your time here.

Dr Mekawy at Island Smile Dental is a professional, caring dentist who explains the results of your exam and answers any of your questions. At Island Smile the dental assistant, Maria cleans my teeth manually which I definitely prefer and she is thorough and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this practice. Dr Mekkway is the best dentist I have ever seen. She fixed a lot of mistakes and problems with my teeth from other previous dentists. Once I had a lot of pain she was able to figure out the problem and help me out with it with the right treatment. I highly recommend her to everyone.

The office is very outdated and looks dirty. The staff is friendly and very nice. I didnt like how the Dentitsy told me what I needed without showing it to me on the Xray. I am going to spend hundreds of dollars on dental work I want to see whats wrong for myself or at least have it explained to me

I saw this dentist for pain in one tooth and a cleaning. I left being told that I need 8 fillings including the tooth that was in pain. I decided to first do the cleaning and fill the tooth that was in pain first. She told me that if I feel consistent pain after the filling then I would need a root canal. I did feel consistent pain in that tooth after the filling. The filling was also not polished and felt rough when running my tongue over it. I decided to get a second opinion before getting a root canal and 7 additional fillings. The other Dentist did a new set of X-rays and a comprehensive exam. He discovered and should me a live picture of my tooth on a wide screen TV, which showed that my gums around the one painful tooth that was cleaned and filled at this office was red and inflamed. The other dentist said that I need a deep cleaning on that side and there was tarter build up. This office did not do a good job at cleaning my teeth and should have told me that I needed a deep cleaning instead of a root canal. The other Dentist also told me and showed me that I had 3 cavities not 8 as I was told by this office. Do not go to this dentist if you want quality comprehensive work done on your teeth.

Dr nourhan Is awesome!!!! Had a dental implant done and occasional cleaning and Ive never seen a dentist that is more attentive to her patients, whenever I had a concern and wanted to get looked at they would tell me to come in anytime and on multiple occasions. Place was extremely clean and hygenic. Booking appointments was extremely easy and flexible and I didnt even feel the needle for the local anastethtic, I only knew it was in when she pulled it out!! Would easily and highly recommend island smile to any of my friends or family. Thank you Dr Nourhan and the team at Island Smile for being awesome!

I took my grand daughter for a root canal yesterday and asked Dr. Macawy to give her a prescription for pain as I have had many root canals in my lifetime and some of them did cause a great deal of pain once the novacain wore off. She refused saying that there is no pain after root canal. My grand daughter was in agony all night last night and we called her and found out her answering machine was full. What kind of doctor is this?When I called this morning I was told she was not in until 2 PM and would call at her convenience. Meanwhile my grand daughter is still suffering. This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. This is a dental mill who is supposed to be open 24 hours and is not. DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST!

I have been coming here for years and am always happy to recommend Dr. Nanavati. I never have a long wait, and the care I receive is top notch.

Dr. Mekayss profile on her website is FALSE. She has only been practicing dentistry in New York since 2010. She is not a member of any of the affiliations she has listed...not a member of the NYS Dental Association, not a member of the American Dental Association, not a member of the American Association of Implant Dentistry.I ran her name on all of these professional association websites and did not find her, so I called each of them verify what I didnt find. What a stupid mistake she made...especially knowing how easy it is to check this stuff on the internet.Now he NYS Dental Association is doing an investigation as well as the NYS Department of Education.Luckily, I checked her out before forking over thousands of dollars in dental work.Always do your research on the doctor before you pay for any medical or dental services ... especially if its self pay.
