My mother says that everyone is very kind and helpful. Just do not have your loved ones here if they have to go to the restroom frequently because they will just have to go on themselves due to such long wait times for a staff to help them. Also at discharge they sent no meds home and did not call in prescriptions for the new medications that their doctor put her on!!!

Ive had a family member staying at Homewood for a couple weeks or so, and I have to say, out of the three extended care facilities this family member has stayed at in the last year, Homewood is by far the best. Ill list the reasons why I like it.1. The staff. The staff is, without a doubt, the most friendly nursing staff Ive seen anywhere, bar none. This includes hospitals. The nurses, with an exception or two that I shrug off for a bad day, or a rough night, are always smiling and happy to help with any concerns. The aides are, most of the time, very quick to assist with whatever the patient needs (where in this case, the patient is my specific family member). The therapy staff is eager to assist, and excited to see even small steps being made in progress toward a larger goal.2. The level of care. Im impressed, and Im not easy to impress. During a meeting, a few concerns were addressed, and within 24 hours, those concerns were not only addressed, but solutions were reached that please everyone involved.3. The atmosphere. Many nursing facilities, including one other Ive had experience with, have an apathy to them. A feeling of one foot in the grave sort of atmosphere. Combine this with the stereotypical nursing home smell, and they are sometimes not fun to visit.Homewood takes these stereotypes and blows them away. Its a well-lit facility, spacious, clean, and smells like home. There are several areas for patients and guests to sit rather than shoved in a corner in their rooms.4. Lastly, but also important, is the food. Id say its somewhere between hospital grade and home-cooked. Some of it is good, some of it doesnt quite reach the bar, but overall, Id rate the food a solid 4/5 stars.Im impressed by Homewood, and will update my review if anything changes. In my experience though, the first four or five days, the first week, says a lot about a facility, and I dont feel like my family member or their frequent visitors (myself usually), have worn out our welcome here.

They have been known to transfer calls to individuals on lunch. This facility is number one in customer service for a few years in a row with the Lebanon Reporter however my experience wasn’t so good. When conducting an interview individual should know the name of the person that they are interviewing as well as have their resume or something available . I have talk to seniors and they filled it it’s a good place for care however if they can’t treat potential new hires with credentials with respect then how are they going to treat these individuals once they are employees .

My mother has been there for 5 days and still has not had a shower. They tell us the next shift will take care of it, nothing happens. The therapy staff is great but nursing is not good there nice but just dont get it done. Medicare pays for these services and then it doesnt happen Im sure they would not be happy.

My mom had surgery and was put in this place they were nice during admission the physical therapists r great but the care is terrible 5 days no shower our bath. I would never treat their parents under any circum stance like they r treating my mother. Her laundry has still not been returned to her my sister finally took it and washed it maybe when they asked us (and we said no we don’t want my sister having to do it we choose for you to do it) they really don’t want to do it they r hoping you will check the box saying patient does own laundry. can’t sit up in her bed because there r no bed rails and pull her self up this still hasn’t been done. I think they would have them on for fall risk with some one who has ha pelvic surgery to protect yourself from liab but apparently they r not concerned.

They say that their focus is on your loved one in superficial adjectives. But, when it comes down to business, they will take every advantage of you.The head of nursing was very abrasive and wasnt willing to listen to how we felt the care of our father should be handled. The staff seemed very disjointed and the do my own thing to keep out of trouble attitude by management. The 1 star is to reward the very few staff members that did care and went out of their way to make it tolerable.

I cannot disagree more with the previous post. My husband is there for rehab after hip replacement. The staff is kind and very responsive to his needs and any concerns Ive mentioned were dealt with promptly. The food is very good, the place is clean and well kept. They have very nice seasonal activities for residents (Thanksgiving meal, Halloween TorT arranged for children/grandchildren of residents, with residents participating). He is getting the rehab he needs. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

Patricia Monnett is a great worker and is a good nurse. I liked it when she took care of my grandmother.

If you have anyone you care about, even the slightest bit, and theyve been placed at homewood, get them out immediately! One can call for assistance and wait 15-20 minutes before anyone arrives. My grandpa was in this place for a few days and in addition to 20 minute wait time for any help, he wasnt given his meds for a couple days, and, per doctors orders, should be made to walk every couple of hours, for which he seldom got the appropriate help. Grandpa himself said he felt like he wasnt making any progress at all and asked to change facilities. It is a clean and well-kept building though.
