Dropped me for missing appointment when I have been seeing him for 5 years. Having extensive trama I expected my doctor or someone to reach out did not even get a reminder call. They usually do give automatic calls for reminders. After 5 years you think the doctor patient would be a little harder to dissolve than a missed appointment. After all I do have issues with memory. Like altimeters.

Hands down the best psychiatrist out there. Dr. Mays is insanely good at working with you to figure out which medicines will help you and also tweak things along the way to find the perfect balance of what you need. He has helped me and a few other people I know so much. This doctor knows what he’s doing and it really shows. I have not trusted a doctor‘s decisions regarding my health as much as I trust Dr. Mays. I 110% recommend him to anyone looking for a great psychiatrist.

He is amazing. Took my daughter to KU for three years and they kept saying ADHD and would not listen. Friend of mine told me about Dr. Mays he addressed all concerns and everyone is seeing a brand new child. This year she is able to focus, pay attention to details, and may be able to back off if special needs services. What an amazing transformation. Highly recommend this entire group.

I have been seeing Dr. Mays for at least 10 years. I started seeing him because I was pleased with the clients I saw who were being treated by him. He is a VERY smart man who listens and processes information very quickly. I am so grateful for his compassion in addition to his excellence as a psychiatrist.

I had been seeing Dr. Mays for approx. 8 years. He is very hard-working and appears to exhibit a genuine care for his patients. Note that in checking him out it was found hes accepted a large sum of money from drug companies for presentations, lunches, travel, expenses. Is this a conflict of interest - you decide. Its not uncommon, but there is a wide variance from Dr. to Dr. The office staff can be less than helpful. They are a large practice and the service you get is what you get. I got poor service from an office staff member, spoke up, and was promptly dismissed as a patient. You may be poor, you may be suffering emotionally, but if you are not quite willing to accept whatever treatment you get, without complaint, you will be promptly and summarily dismissed.

Dr. Mays is a caring and compassionate person. Very easy to talk to and listened to my concerns. Added BONUS...Hes a JAYHAWK FAN💙
