Worst mental health place ever. They are lazy, unfriendly and unprofessional. They absolutely refuse to set an intake appointment....you have to just show up and sit for hours, potentially all day waiting for someone to cancel so a staff is available. They ask the most ridiculous, inapplicable questions...none of which is pertinent to anything other than their profitability.BEWARE! Neither this agency nor its staff care one bit about people, their health or well being. If you have to choose between hell or this place....hell is a safer, more loving, more rewarding place.

Absolutely terrible customer service. It took over 20 phone calls, multiple hang-ups, and multiple unreturned messages, just to make an appointment. The appointment itself was atrocious, and I was then gleefully told by the “CEO” that I was nothing more than a waste of her time.Go elsewhere. ANY where else for help.

I have Bipolar 2, and the staff are all friendly, calm, and treat me well. I go there for therapy as well as for getting my medicine checked and they do an awesome job. Most places Ive been to couldnt even help me with my mental illness because my moods were bouncing and they had no idea what to say or do. Just being here has helped me tremendously as they actually know what they are talking about. They also have options for people who cant get back and forth to the offices as well.

Most of their doctors are pretty good. Then theres Chuck Tilley. A year ago I met with him for the first and last time. He introduced himself as the guy in charge of the other doctors (hes not -- hes not even a proper doctor, just a PA). He then compared my medications to whiskey and suggested I stop taking one of them without explaining the importance of slowly weaning off the meds. I stopped taking it and had tremendous back pain and back spasms as a result. He also attempted to gain rapport with me by telling me he was going to talk to me the way he talks to his son. Needless to say, condescending to me didnt work any better than condescending to his kid. Naturally, none of this was reflected in the patient charts -- he outright lied about our conversations and painted me as an addict.I relayed this all to the person in charge of Plains, which naturally did nothing about it. Tilley still works there and is likely still doing his best to convince patients that maybe they shouldnt be seeking mental health treatment after all.

I love Plains in LeMars. When I moved out here 11years ago, I was having trouble finding someone to help with my meds. I became a patient of another well known facility in the area that over medicated me. I couldnt function anymore. So my regular doctor recommended PA Tilley as she called him. PA Tilley literally saved my life! I would recommend him in a heart beat. When I moved back home in 2014 I pretty much moved back out here in 2017 for a couple of reasons and PA Tilley was one of them. His cocktail as I call it worked for me and other docs wanna to mess with it. Nobody messes with my cocktail! 😉 Thanks PA Tilley, I enjoy coming to see you and love having a fellow East Coast native who understands me!!

In our family we have one with PTSD, Bi-Polar Disorder, Agorophobia, and our 2 sons have ADHD, Autism spectrum Disorder and our youngest also has Oppisitional Defiance Disorder. The staff at plains are great. They have helped us cope with some very difficult situations. We feel we are getting the very best care available to us.
