After getting quotes from three companies we chose Wasatch Heat Cable to do our heat cable on the backside of our roof, which is notorious for getting 3 foot snow drifts in the winter. The sale person was professional, the company was extremely responsive and quick to get us an estimate that was very thorough. When we hired them they coordinated with our schedule to get the job done quicker than we expected. The installer arrived on time and did a beautiful job on the project. I heard good things about this company from friends. The problem with me though, I wasnt able to get an estimate, the estimator didnt show during the time they said they would. No call or any follow-up. Not really happy that I had to leave work early to accommodate their limited estimation window and no one showed.At any rate, Im sure theyre busy because I hear they do good work - I just wish they wouldnt have wasted the vacation time I had to take to meet the estimator that never showed.

Last Fall after having a new roof installed on one of our properties we had Wasatch repair the heat cable system damaged by the roofing company. Throughout the winter, the heat cables have worked flawlessly just as expected.

Let me start by saying I was a professional estimator in Film & Television for Universal Studios for over 15 years. Beware if you get an estimate and then decide to decrease the amount of coverage. I am attaching both estimates, the second of which should have decreased my coverage area by more than 2/3. The revised estimate by Kyler was padded with excess heat tape (for 35% of the coverage area we need 70% of the material?) and gutters (exactly the same on both estimates?). As this was clearly an egregious error, I sought help from the company and was referred to Eric, the estimator manager. Eric did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation except ask me how much material I wanted (like, what?), tell me there were 100s of people in line and that I should go to another company. As a current local business owner dedicated to serving the public, I am literally appalled and would never in a million years dream of conducting myself in this manner. But dont you worry guys, we absolutely will go with another company! I just hope you remember us little people.

Had Dave come out this past Fall and take a look at the heat cable installed on my newly purchased home. I have never owned a home with heat cable so I wanted to make sure it was in good shape and get some advice on operating the system. Dave was awesome. He was professional and extremely helpful. He inspected the system and provided recommendations. I will be replacing this system with a better system and of course will have Wasatch Heat Cable do the installation.

I had Wasatch Heat Cable give me a quote to re-attach my heat cable. After I had some water damage repairs done, the crew doing the repair of my residence had cut several area of the heat tape, thus making the heat tape inoperable. The quote from Wasatch Heat Tape estimator Dave Tanner, was fair and I immediately scheduled them to come and do the work. Jose was the first to come. He was prompt and efficient. He did 95% of the work, working well into the dark, and completing the all the work before he left. There was one downspout that I thought would need a cable installed, I called their office and talked to Lisa. Boy what a knowledgeable and is truly concerned about making sure their customers are completely satisfied with their work. Since they had done work for me, they rescheduled another crew within a few days to complete the work. Kile, Canvas, and Bryce came this morning and completed, and thoroughly tested the system to make sure it was all in working order. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Wasatch Cable for your Heat Cable needs. They are fast, efficient, knowledgeable, and their prices were very competitive. Will definitely be calling them if I require any additional heat tape work.

If you need deicing cable or tape this is the place to go. I had bids from two other roof and gutter outfits and Wasatch was less than both for cable; they did not offer tape. Since I live in the mountains I chose tape. Bryant did the install. He knows his job and does it quickly and efficiently. He fully explained how the tape system would work and is a pleasant fellow to boot. I can recommend Wasatch without reservation.

A gentleman from wasatch heat cable was next door giving my neighbors a quote to install heat tape. I just happened to be installing my own at the same time. He noticed and came right over. I thought he was going to try and get me to buy theirs, but instead he dropped everything he was doing and educated me and helped me install it correctly and efficiently. It helped me immensely and I was more than impressed. Any company that takes time out of their busy season to help educate and ensure the job is done right (even though I didn’t buy anything from them) gets a great review from me. Quality business.

Called in May to get a quote. They came out in a timely manner, but it took almost 2 months to get the quote back. I called 4 times to get them to get me a quote. finally when the quote did come it was not correct or the correct places on my roof. I called the office slightly frustrated at this point and said that I asked the quote to be broken down. I would like someone to please call me back. I still have not heard back from them.Their bid was extremely high compared to the other 2 quotes that I recently received this week even with their sale.

Wasatch Heat Cable was amazing. I called 4 heat tape electricians and none of them even bothered to call me back. Then we called Wasatch Heat Cable. They answered the phone when I called, scheduled the estimated appoint for the very next week. Eric was very informative and helpful. They were able to steam all of the ice out of the gutter and now I do not have to worry any more. My heat tape is installed and easy to use. Everyone was professional, polite and knowledgeable. We haven’t tested our heat cable because we haven’t had any snow. The installers were courteous and seem to do quality work. The installation looks great, having done it myself on my previous home. We can’t wait to see how it works.

Great staff, good installation. always on time for appointments and easy to work with. Waiting for winter to truly test the system :-)UPDATE: Weve had great success with our system. It has snowed a lot and been really cold and the system works. We had an issue with freezing water on the gutter clips and guys were out here the next day to adjust everything and make it perfect!

This company is fantastic. Their bid was by far the best, they were the most responsive after our original call, and Mikey and Bryce did a great job with the install. They really took their time and made sure we were happy with the way the tape and electrical cords looked. My highest recommendation!

They also use high quality cable that lasts for years. Not the cheap stuff that you have to replace in two or three years.

Though mine was a very small job for Wasatch heat cable they treated my job like one of their larger clients. Installers very efficient and explained every detail of the installation. All in all from start to finish this company covers all aspects of what needed to be done.

These guys are great. We have had a few sections of heat cable added over the past couple of years and they have taken care of us no matter what the weather conditions are. We had heat cable installed at our townhouse during the fall. The customer service is FANTASTIC.The initial contact was to obtain a bid. They came out to evaluate and measure. The bid was professional and prompt. The bid was commensurate with other companies; however, the Wasatch Heat Cable’s experience and thoroughness far exceeded the other bids. The installation was performed on scheduled date and was very professional. The job site was left clean and there were no surprises or hidden fees.Once winter came, we had two minor problems. Wasatch Heat Cable did everything they said they would do, and showed up when they said they would. I pinged them on the internet and they responded with 24-hours of my pinging them. I found them to be very professional and would work with them again.

I have had problems with my heat cable installed by my electrician and has caused more problems than fixed. Wasatch came out listened to my areas I have problems with and installed new heat tape. It has not snowed yet to see if it is working but they guarantee their work so I am waiting to see how well it works and happy to know they will come fix it if it does not work this year but Dave was great to work with.

This business is very hard to find. Once you do find it, there is no one on the first floor of the business. You have to walk through the first floor office through the garage area then up a flight of stairs to where they are actually located. Not very customer oriented.

WHC installed self-regulating heat cable with a thermostat at our house. They did a great job, the employees and electrical sub-contractors were a pleasure to interact with, and the cable+thermostat combo was working as expected.A couple of weeks after the installation, we noticed icicles forming underneath a short stretch of the cable. I emailed the company and the next day they sent workers to fix the issue. We werent home and the workers left a detailed note explaining that the issue was caused by a downspout incorrectly installed by the previous owners. They fixed it anyway, free of charge.As a side note: for anyone looking to install heat cable, I strongly recommend doing it during the warm season to avoid the inevitable wait caused by an influx of desperate property owners who remember that they have problems with ice and snow only after it starts snowing (which was the case with us). And if you get the job done while its still warm, you will avoid the snow melting charge.Back to the WHC: this was my only experience with them, but my conclusion so far is that they do quality work and have a very ethical approach to business. I would definitely recommend them.

Highly recommend!UPDATE (11/2019) - After the first snow season with the newly installed gutters and heat tape from WHC, I started noticing issues with the gutters leaking at many points. I contact WHC multiple times and sent multiple photos showing leaking behind, in, and around joints and flat areas where they installed new gutters. After multiple back-and-forth conversations with WHC and one of their technicians coming to inspect the issue I was reporting, WHC told me the issue was with my roof and not my gutters. Two issues with this, first being that I never had the leaking issue before they installed the new gutters (aka no leaking with 10+ year old gutters that were there before). The second issue I take with their stance is that after having 3 different gutter services companies in the area quote me on repairs/replacement they all conclusively stated the leaking is due to improper installation of gutters.While I have no issues with the heat tape work WHC provided, I am extremely dissatisfied with their gutter work and inability to replace the bad job they did.

This is a long review but I think it will be helpful: After doing a ton of research on all the different companies who do heat cable installation, I decided to call Wasatch Heat Cable. They have solid reviews and use the best product. Raychem and Drexan are the market leaders as heat cable manufacturers. Drexan is more innovative, contemporary, smaller and better customer service (yes I called both). Oh and they have a way better warranty than Raychem.Fast-forward, after all my research and also having Wasatch give me a bid, I decided that I could do this on my own. Im fairly handy around the house. BASIC plumbing and electrical, get up on the roof and clean out my gutters, etc. Nothing impressive--I work at a computer all day. Anyway, the Drexan website has a design guide that is helpful, you can call Drexan and ask questions, and ultimately Wasatch Heat cable will supply you with the materials you need. This is not a go to Home Depot and pick up the accessories you need. Wasatch has this down to a science and you want to make sure you do it correctly! Cable, clips, adhesive, etc.I cant say that my install is as good as Wasatchs--its probably not. You should probably just have them do it. But as a penny pincher, I saved well over a thousand dollars. There is considerable planning involved, with a bit of a learning curve but its doable if youre motivated. Bottom line is if you have the time and skill to plan out this project, you can buy everything from Wasatch Heat Cable and know that you have the very best material.
