They are not reliable period. Called many times and they dont answer, have an emergency tablet and during crises they STILL dont answer! One time several weeks ago their phone system went down and because I couldnt call in my meds I had to go without because they didnt have a consistency plan. When Medicaid kicks in and I hope others apply for Medicaid too since they expanded their program starting July 1st I suggest get on it and get away from this place!

Phones are never working. Its either busy or it just rings a few times, then stops. You would think someone would be manning the phones or at least have an automated system.

Such amazing and caring workers! My caseworker Kim is so amazing. I love having her. Theyre such amazing people who understand what anybody with mental health goes through, and they do as best as they can to help. They are so helpful to find solutions when certain things dont work out and get situated. Theyre so helpful and they never give up on figuring out whats best for us who are clients!

First off, the environment is very tense. Supervisors are rude to employees and treat them disrespectfully. It is obvious that the employees are unhappy and dislike their job. And it seems as if the employees should admitted instead of us. To be a mental health facility, the company seems to be unconcerned about the well-being of their employees. Also check the heating system please, it is in need of repair. Food is nice though.

The worst for care! They also give you the runaround when obtaining records. They have to get the ok from medical director even if patient signed consent to release any and all. even with Medical POA. Food is horrible.

This place did not help my brother when he was having a manic episode. He was suicidal and tried stabbing me and my mom and try to cut his throat. We stopped him and called the cops they took him there and after only 6 hours they said all of their beds were full without even giving him mental evaluation. The cops brought him right back home and he killed his self that very next day buy overdosing on pills. I dont know why they didnt even look at him especially after what the police report said. He was Native American and from what I heard from other Native Americans in this area they will turn them down by saying their beds are full. His girlfriend was white and just a week before that happened she threaten to kill her self and the cops took her there and she was seen and held their for 3 days. So, please avoid this place because they are racists who will neglect people who really do need help.

Although i am but a current parient at taliaferro. I was about there years ago i recieved great care, and mental help there. I was so amazed at how Many people go through taliaferro and got great care. They are a state funded facility so they take everyone. My experience there was ver y postive. The staff was exceptional , and so was Dr. Strickland

Since it is all Lawton has to offer, at this level, they just get by. For starters this is A Mental Health Facility So it should be no surprise these are the type of patients that are there. I know I was there with a friend of mine, her son was being treated for bi-polar.The hours are varied as to what you are being seen for regardless the 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. hours posted. They also have a 24 hour EOD Area it is for Mental Health patients that are held for up to 72 hours for their own or someone elses safety. I did notice that the Drs hrs are not necessarily in sync with the times patients are allowed to pick up their meds but I think that depends on if the patient complies with their appointments on a regular basis. As an observer the staff just went through the motions with little to no emotion not smiling or lighthearted, it was indeed depressing.Where we thought we were supposed to be for her sons appt and where we ended up was all the way around the building. They could have mentioned this when the appointment was made. It is a very large facility. When we finally got to the area we he was to be seen it was loud and crowded. Seating was insufficient and people stood along the wall. There was a flat screen T.V. to make the time pass. The wait wasnt to bad about 45 min or so. The nurses that interacted with the patients they knew were warm and caring. The pharmacist actually made people around him forget where they were at & had people around him laughing, he seemed to really enjoy his job.Upon checking out the whole atmosphere changed, since my friends son had missed his prior appt. the person doing the scheduling was short & in my opinion rude. This kid was bi-polar, they are known for this type behavior, it is just what it is! When they come up with a cure for all mental illness we wont be such a problem for the people who work around us any more!I think the whole place should be replaced with a real Mental Health CenterThis is a poor excuse for people who did not ask to need this type of help in the first place. Just my opinion, please go visit I would be happy for you to prove me wrong.
