Dr. Seacat, is always very pleasant and very thorough in testing and checking your eyes. My contacts are always the right correction for my eyes. I also appreciate his helpful pleasant office staff.

I have had nothing but a disappointed experience with Seacat Optometry. The staff was very rude and short with me every time I was there. I felt belittled and they were very condescending. The amount of miscommunication was extremely frustrating, I was misquoted 3 times on a 6 month supply of contacts. Originally one of the staff gave me a quote of $30 for a 6 month supply of contacts, I thought this was an unusual good deal but thought maybe my insurance covered most of it. Nope. I got home, only for her to call me and say she gave me the wrong quote and it was $205 for 6 months! For someone who has worn contacts for 5 years and has been to many eye doctors, I know that is pretty pricey for only 6 months when insurance was helping cover. However, I was running low and needed to get them, even if I thought they were pretty expensive. Once they came in, I picked them up and paid for them. They do not greet you or have any small talk with you. I mean, I guess you don’t even have to try to act like you are happy to see anyone or smile when you have a mask on. I went home only to have them call me again saying they misquoted me for a whole 12 months and that they will be ordering me another 6 months. I really was just looking for a 6 month supply, but I was so tired of dealing with there awful customer service that I just wanted to pick them up and never go back. Overall it was my first and last appointment at Seacat Optometry. I was treated poorly and will be more than happy to find another business who could do so much more better.

Awesome place. Needed eye exam and form completed in a very short time due to travel restrictions. Excellent exam, professional service all around. Technicians, optometrist, office staff all superb. Definitely recommend them.

I have been coming to see Dr. SeaCat for many years. I sometimes buy my glasses somewhere else such as Stanton. This is a big mistake, always buy your glasses with SeaCat because you get what you pay for. He makes sure that you get the best quality plus the girls there are VERY HELPFUL with choosing the right frame. NEVER STRAY AWAY FROM A PROFESSIONAL!!!

We moved to Las Cruces from Clovis, NM. Dr. Seacat was highly recommended by our doctor in Clovis. Today was my first visit. Hes wonderful! Very knowledgeable. He uses an impressive array of technology. His staff was friendly. I was able to choose glasses right after my appointment. The person who worked with me was great in helping me select my new pair and in letting me know exactly what each item costs.

This place has the family atmosphere that I left at the optometrist in Virginia. The previous place in town would not take my insurance for glasses so I was referred here. My experience of getting American Made glasses at a fair price was terrific and I will be switching Optometrist to Dr. Seacat and staff.

I contacted them five weeks before my desired appointment date. I waited and waited for a confirmation (or any communication, even something telling me they didnt want me as a patient), but they totally ghosted me.

I had a very poor experience here, It took over four months to receive my glasses and I received differing reasons for that. They couldnt use my original frame choice and I received numerous conflicting reasons why. When I finally received my glasses, they were much heavier than I expected. I honestly wonder if they used the wrong weight of lens materiel. From numerous lab errors to an uncaring Seacat office manager, the experience was poor. Stephanie, an associate, was very caring. Poor overall experience.

All staff members I encountered were extremely polite and helpful. Dr. Seacat included. Nice man, and took the time to explain things to me that I didnt know. It wasnt just things look good, it was things look good because... and I really appreciate that extra effort. Highly recommend Dr. Seacat and his crew!

I’m currently driving across the country, and woke up in the hotel this morning with very blurry vision in one eye. Naturally I was worried, so I looked for a local optometrist to get it checked out. The staff at Seacat optometry were so friendly and accommodating; they fit me in quickly and Dr Seacat examined my eye and did extra tests to make sure everything was okay. I was in and out in about an hour, and can continue my trip. I definitely recommend them to anyone, and would happily use them myself if I’m ever in the area again.

They will max out your insurance coverage to where you will still have to pay out-of-pocket. Im comparing them to my previous provider where I could get a 1-year supply of contacts and two pairs of glasses (even got some Ray-Bans) for a little over $140. If I got the equivalent here, it would be $400+

Ive been to 5 different optometrist offices my whole life, and I have to say, Seacat is definitely the best one Ive been to. I decided to come here and give this place a try, based on previous reviews, and also my insurance recommended this place. This office provides excellent customer service, as well as comprehensive eye exams. The staff provided explanation/ insight on each portion of the eye exam and were happy to answer any questions I had.

Two of my co-workers came to work with the cutest glasses and I asked where did they get them. When they said Seacat Optometry, I quickly made an appointment. The doctor was respectful of my time and he performed a thorough examination. Then I was really blown away by the selection of frames available. I found Seacat Optometry on my insurers website and called them to confirm that they took my insurance. They confirmed that they did, but did not have an appointment available for over 2 months. Based on their excellent reviews, I agreed to an appointment 2 months in the future. Two months later, on the morning of my eye appointment, I received a phone call from them asking about my insurance. Confused, because we had been through this when I first made the appointment, I shared my insurance information again. They then informed me that they did not accept that insurance and, apparently, never had -- despite telling me they did when I first made my appointment. After waiting over two months for this appointment, and living with an incorrect prescription so I could see this specific optometrist, I was forced to cancel my appointment. I am so upset and disappointed by this situation. I wasted valuable time due to their ignorance and/or negligence. I am not sure why they would even bother calling me the morning of unless they already had knowledge regarding the mistake they had made with the insurance. Do not recommend.

I went to Dr. Seacat due to pain and vision difficulties in my right eye. He stated that my eye looked healthy and to see my PCP. I went to four different doctors to find that my optic nerve was swollen. Dr. Seacat missed the swelling in my optic nerve which he absolutely should’ve notice upon dilation. This caused me enormous frustration and hundreds of dollars in medical bills when he could have referred me straight to an ophthalmologist. They have been rude and uncaring as far as my health and vision goes. I would not trust this office with anything. Walmart is, by far, better than this place.

Dr. Seacat is our families eye doc. We have used him for nearly20 years. He is very attentive and careful and knowledgeable. His staff is always helpful.

Im new in Las Cruces. I didnt see Dr. Seacat, but I saw his new(ish) associate. She was absolutely wonderful. Shes not only charming and a careful optometrist, shes also excellent in explaining her findings. The selection of frames is excellent. This might be long, but I promise it is worth the read.I have used Seacat for the past few years while living in Las Cruces. They seemed like a professional place that would provide quality care. Unfortunately, that hasnt been the case. After a few issues with their office, I am moving on.1. My wife and I both placed an order for glasses during the same visit. Mine came in within the time frame provided, however, my wives were still missing. I asked about the status and was reassured they would be on their way. I waited over a week to follow back up because I didnt want to rush them. When I called I was notified that the order was never placed. Apparently that day they were having issues with glasses orders going through. This is completely understandable, what isnt is that they were just going to wait until I called to see the status of the order to reorder instead of seeing who came in that day and contact us.2. I decided to make the jump back over to contacts after wearing glasses for a few years. I met with Dr. Seacat and had a pretty good appointment. Then the assistant came in to talk about my options in contacts. When I say options I mean one brand for monthly and daily contacts. Like most people, I dont have extensive knowledge of the different types of brands out there so I went with the monthly lenses. I was provided a sample for me to try out then come back in for a Contact Fitting the next week or two.When I came back for my Contact Fitting I sat down and was asked, how do they feel. I said they felt a little weird still but mostly fine. And that right there was the end of my Contact Fitting...I forgot to mention this second appointment cost $35...This brings me to today and why I am spending so much time writing this review. I recently ran out of my 6 month supply of lenses. Like any good millennial would do I decided to do some research on other lenses offered (UV protection, blue light reduction, etc.). I found some I really liked from a few online retailers. I called Seacat to get my prescription and when I got it listed Miru as the brand, the BC code and the prescription itself. What isnt included is the Diameter of the lens...strange. The company I was going through noticed that it listed the Brand name so they called Dr. Seacat to see if he/the office would be willing to let me switch to a new brand. You guessed it, the answer was not unless I went in for a new fitting for another $35.I decided to call Seacat myself to see what the issue is. I brought up everything above and was told the same story, it would take another $35 fitting. The issues are the brand they prescribed me is only offered through Seacat. I have searched the internet (1-800 Contacts, Sams Club, Walmart, and many other retailers) and cant find the monthly version anywhere. This feels like a great way to make sure you only purchase your lenses through them. I refuse to pay $35 to be sat in a chair and asked how do they feel just to try another brand.At this point, I did go ahead and reorder for the next 6 months. However, when my annual check-up comes around I will be going elsewhere and advise others to do the same unless you dont like to have options for your contacts.4. Customer services has always been lacking. I feel that the assistants are short and condescending.3. Not open on Fridays...strange.
