Elkae is my favorite place to get my hair done! I have been to many salons, and this one is the best I have found. When Stephanie does my hair, i’m never disappointed at all! Absolutely my favorite place to get my hair done, I’ve been coming here since I was 14 and they are the only ones I’ve trusted with my hair. I’ve gotten amazing crazy colors and styles for long hair. Just yesterday I got it cut shorter so it could regrow and I was amazed with the results for my first time ever having short hair. They are very nice and do wonderful work :)

Stephanie was my wonderful stylist. I honestly had no idea what I wanted except to lighten my naturally red hair. She ran with that and gave me the most beautiful blonde highlights I’ve ever seen. The tones in my hair are just so beautiful, and I feel beautiful 🤍Then there’s the cut! Absolutely stunning, she was so thorough with absolutely everything. EDIT: 7/21-Owner responded, mask policing is not their area. VERY aware that mask wearing is my choice/need, in fact, told the Stylist that when she said she didnt wear a mask because she isnt sheep. Agree policing isnt their job. Also, lets clarify, was charged $99 for $54 charge. Explain to me how $99 was pushed, the 9 was selected and pushed twice on the card reader, instead of a 5 and a 4. Neither 5 or 4 is close to 9 on any dialer. That was a huge red flag. Also, why would you book a client for a hair cut and brow wax on same day when you dont know how to do a brow wax? This wasnt my first trip to this Salon or the Stylist.Edit 7/8 Owner called, wouldnt allow me to speak and called it a bad meeting between two people. Was mortified that she considered my illness part of the problem and was making me take blame for wearing a mask. She never referenced her Stylist stating she doesnt because she isnt a sheep. Also, didnt speak of me being over charged. Did hang up on her because she didnt allow me to speak. Then she said it was a bad meeting between two people after not allowing me to tell her anything of my experience.Original Post: Waited weeks to post this as owner left a message stating she would call me back after I missed her call. Owner called only after posting. Amazed that she believes I was at fault for her unvaccinated staff member calling me a sheep and treating a client with disrespect.Called for hair trim and eyebrow wax, have been there before. Stylist made a same day appointment. After my hair was done I asked for the brow wax, she replied she didnt know how to do it, even though she was the one I made the appointment with over the phone. Had to wait about 20 minutes for another stylist to do the wax. That is just the easy part of the appointment. This was the most disrespectful experience.Wore a mask and gloves to appointment due to no immunity, survived Cancer four times. Mask and gloves are a part of my life. Stylist said she doesnt wear anything because she isnt sheep. Was told that tidbit within minutes of entering the salon. Told her I wish I didnt have to, having survived Cancer multiple times, I have no immune system. Told her she should have asked if there was a medical reason why I was wearing mask and gloves as it wasnt political. She bragged she wasnt vaccinated and she didnt have a mask on. She overcharged my card by $46, I caught it. She said she didnt know how to do a refund. Luckily another employee, Stephanie, stepped in and told her to call the the owner. Was refunded the difference. The owner called the next day, had the wrong information, left message, apologized and didnt know why, and said she would call back. Still waiting. Mask wearing isnt a choice, it isnt political, it is a necessity. Would have been nice to be treated in a kind and caring manner. Went out to be pampered and got peppered instead.

This was the first time I have been to Elkae Salon and it is the happiest Ive been with my hair in a long time. I went in with Black hair that wasnt in the best condition and previously had box dye on. I wanted to go blonde and Stephanie and Leah were kind, honest, and professional. I knew going in that there may be a chance I couldnt get exactly what I wanted because of my dark color, but Stephanie was confident she could get it as close as possible.Stephanie was the one to lighten, tone, cut, and style my hair. She did phenomenal job and was so sweet and personable during the whole process. My hair turned out beautifully!They gained my business and will be the place I refer people to because they go above and beyond for their clients and they are all very talented. This is a long overdue review. Leah has brought me many smiles, happiness, and confidence over the years. I love Elkae Salon! Ever since the 1st time I went there years ago, Ive been hooked. No one could ever get my hair to a nice cool blonde with all the red tones in my dark brown almost black hair, but Leah is a magician with color. Shes amazing. Shes correct my hair when ive screwed it up. Shes done other colors for me too and they always turn out beautiful. Her new stylist Stephanie also does great hair. She got my daughter from same hair type/color as mine to platinum gray. If you want amazing color, cut and styled hair at reasonable prices then I would highly recommend you go to Elkae.

Very Rude and Unprofessional. It is a shame the owner Leah does not care about customer service. Leah actually attempted to make me feel like it was my fault that the hair Stylist Stephanie did not show up to work. Leah phoned with with every other word out of her mouth being profanity, verbalizing Stephanie owed her time, partied too much and had not shown up I had no idea how to respond or what she wanted me to say. I was disappointed of course, I had the appointment scheduled for two weeks. Leah, called me back stating that she would fit me in and style my hair herself. I was thankful. When I arrived at the salon, the entire time , Leah and who she referred to as her helper, went on and on very negatively about Stephanie. They openly spoke about other stylists and how Leah had to fire them; that she was going to fire Stephanie.Leah colored my hair, then the helper, (As Leah referred to her.) performed the actual hair style. The entire time I felt like there was no care or interest in what I was desiring for my hair style. I finally had to tell the helper to stop cutting , let me pay so I could get out of there. When I got home and looked in the mirror my hair was so uneven and shorter and looked like a disaster cut by a toddler. I took pictures of myself and sent them to the Leah, the owner. She phoned me and said she felt horrible, asked me if I would come back and she would fix it. I did return on my next day off a few days later. I was surprised that Stephanie the one who Leah spoke so horribly about was there, and it was her who was going to fix this horrible hack job that was done to my hair. It was so bad that Leah offered to add extensions in the areas that were cut too short and uneven. Stephanie, worked with my hair along with Leah and eventually they did get it as even as could be done. I am a polite person who does not make a habit of speaking ill about anyone. I stated that I was thankful they fixed my hair, ( while in tears about the occurrence), In addition, I did not want the helper to touch my hair again.(Very fair since I was the victim to this horrible hair cut.) I decided not to get the extensions and allow my hair to grow out a bit and then have Stephanie style my hair nicely since Leah obviously did not fire her and she was good.Weeks later I scheduled an appointment with Stephanie. I arrived for my appointment, Stephanie was still finishing on another customer. While waiting, Leah was on the phone, very angry with someone, loud and using a lot of profanity. I decided I would wait outside until Stephanie was ready for me. I politely asked how much longer she would be. If she was going to be another 20 minutes or so, I was going to window shop at the nearby stores. If shorter, I would just stay close to be available when she was ready for me. While I was outside, the helper who was at the front desk came out and said to me Stephanie, is not going to see you, no one is going to see you, not after the episode from last time. I was shocked and speechless. This is the woman who completely hacked my hair, who is now being rude to me. ( I paid her out of kindness and even gave her a tip. which I should not have, due to how she made a mess of my hair.) I asked her , then why was I not told this when I made my appointment with Stephanie? she replied, I did not make the appointment.Wow, somehow, I am at fault for her the helper hacking my hair and she does not want the hair stylist who fixed it; to style my hair properly. With this type of attitude, eventually it will not matter how good you are; poor customer service and treating people like they are nothing will stop people from returning. Nothing lasts. Obviously, there is something very broken. The person who referred me was so apologetic and said to me, she will never return to Elke, or refer another person. It is not o.k. to treat a paying customer like they are wrong, when your business is not running smoothly.In response to your reply. You are a liar. You obviously have issues. Others state same experience.

I had a wonderful experience! Leah and Stephanie are both sooo nice and made me feel so comfortable! I had a great time while I was there! Stephanie did my hair and she listened to what I wanted and really executed it amazingly! I am so impressed and its really given me a confidence boost! She is such a great hairstylist!! A true artist! They definitely know what theyre doing here! I recommend 100 %! !

This place is a gem! Im so happy that I found it. Leah is the best colorist I ever had. She turned me into blonde from brown and my hair stayed absolutely healthy. Plus she does hair extensions. Im going to her for few years already and they never fell off. She is the true professional, so even if live faraway, you should take your time and drive here. I feel like when you leave a salon youre supposed to be in love with your hair, that was not the case for me. I wanted dark roots with platinum blonde everything else. I also let them know this is for my wedding so it was especially important to get it right. I was told the price beforehand, which I appreciated and was reassured his techniques would work and it would look great. My hair is grey with yellow blonde throughout the grey and the Shadow root he did bled or something because I have black spots also throughout where its supposed to be platinum blonde. I wanted to love it, I even waited a day to see if Id get use to it, but Im not satisfied. Also both stylists that were there that day talked badly about every client that came in while I was there for 4 hours so its safe to say they did the same about me when I left....Thank you for reaching out to me, but all I kept saying about my hair while there is that it is grey and the reply that I got is thats how platinum looks and that it will lighten each time I wash it, did not see the black spots until I was home. You also left a voicemail on my phone after seeing this review and told me I was wrong that you didnt talk about other clients when you did! You talked about some russian lady, you talked about my stylists next client and how she is a columbian that wishes she was a white girl with ash blonde hair and yes you did talk to and after she left about the client you were working on. Im not the type of person that is going to cause a big scene because I dont like something but I did express very politely its not what I thought it was going to be so no thank you I do not want to come back in and trust you guys with my hair.

I had the pleasure of having my hair colored by Erica. I dont have easy to color because my hair has red undertones and I dont like red in my hair. This was my first visit with Erica and she was fun and easy to talk with while providing quality professional service. After Erica finished coloring my hair I noticed some of my red undertones showing and I told her I didnt like the way it turned out. Erica was super sweet told me no problem and went to work to adjust the color to my liking. After that attempt I still wasnt happy with my own hair picking up some red hues. Not only did Erica tell me no worries she added more highlights and fixed it to more of what I wanted and with no more red. Erica really seemed to care and be understanding to what I wanted and she never got frustrated with me instead she really listened and together we figured out what it was I was trying to achieve and she was knowledgeable enough to know how to get the stubborn red in my hair out and not turn it green, believe me Ive had that happen to me at another place it can happen if they dont know what theyre doing. This honestly was my best experience at a salon and Ive been to many all over the world. I loved how nice, funny and yet professional all the ladies were. They were very accommodating to help me with my walker because I just had knee surgery too. Erica gives the BEST shampoo Ive ever had! I truly felt comfortable, was able to relax and actually felt pampered. This salon staff are good people and truly want their customers to be happy. Come check this gem out!! Leah has been my hairdresser for several years. After trying many establishments in the area from budget to high end, I have found the perfect balance at Elkae Salon.My hair requires coloring (without damaging my very fine hair), Keratin treatments to relax the curl, and of course maintaining the length and style. Leah was able to fine tune my hair color to achieve the best shade to suit me, and has consistently maintained the style I prefer.My schedule does not allow me to schedule appointments more than a couple of weeks in advance, and Leahs services are in great demand. Nevertheless, she always manages to find a time slot to accommodate me when I call.I could not be happier with the service I receive at Elkae Salon, and would highly recommend the establishment to anyone.

I started going to Elkae Salon 2 years ago. My first appointment with Leah was amazing. She looked at my hair and said you have thyroid issues, dont you....wow, that really surprised me. The fact that she knew that without me telling her was amazing. She really knows her stuff. Our hair changes every seven years or so and mine has evolved into a thinning mess that strongly responds to warm weather and humidity. I searched web sites and printed pics of age appropriate styles said to work for thin, sometimes wavy hair. I also searched for highly rated salons near me. I was not comfortable at the first shop I visited and moved on to visit the 2nd salon on my list - Elkae. Erica greeted me warmly. We sat down, reviewed the pics I brought and she offered insight on which style would work best with my hair and why. When it came time for the actual cut, she suggested that a razor cut would give my hair a little extra life. Wow! Although my preference, I had given up on razor cuts years ago as most stylists arent trained to do them or cant do them well. Erica did a great cut that is easy to manage and, according to my husband and friends, makes me look younger. Thank you so much, Erica!

Erica did such an amazing job on my hair - I need someone that can take charge and let me know what would look bad or amazing on me and she did just that!! Love the atmosphere and all the chandeliers plenty of seats for for hair washing - the head massage was amazing!!!! (My favorite part) my hair turned out exactly as she said it would I’m very happy and will be returning!!! 😁😁😁

I paid $120 for a hair color that I hated. Left the salon in tears. I dont know how we miscommunicated so badly I showed them a picture of exactly what color I was after. Ended up leaving with two tone highlighted hair and was still RED which I did not want to begin with. Ended up paying a ton to get fixed at another salon but at least its back to mostly normal. Probably should have not paid or reversed the charges on my card. Complete waste of money. Thats what I get for picking a place at random and going with Google reviews. 👎👎👎

I wanted to leave a 5 star, Leah has done my hair color/highlights/cut for the last Ten years, every time she goes above and beyond! She knows her colors, and my limits! I always tell her to do what she feels best, and Im never let down! Always feel great when I leave, and the color lasts a long time! She uses great products so its definitely worth every penny!

I went home with a cut and decided to go elsewhere to fix. I didnt even want to try to have her redo it because she showed me such little regard, in the first place.I do believe that this person is truly wonderful at deciding color and cut...if her and situation is not divided on everything else. Called them yesterday morning to give my hair a little “pick me up” haircut and to see if Leah had openings but they didn’t. They called me back and was able to get me in with Misty (I believe that was her name) and she did a phenomenal job and I’ll be coming again. After my first visit I felt I had finally reached the life achievement of hair perfection.Prices are great, especially considering the quality of service.The top layer of my hair is bright white/silver, which isnt the easiest to do and many colorist dont even have any experience with it. You can trust completely Leah with your hair. When she is done it is so incredibly soft and the perfect shade. :DStaff is great. Very friendly and welcoming. Very comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.

I started going to this salon because of Maria. She is amazing. Last week I needed to get my hair done and I needed to come in early. So Jen ended up doing my hair. All I can say is WOW! She is a color specialist and took time to analyze exactly what was best for my hair. Not only that, it was very important to her to put the healthiest possible color on my hair. She discussed so many options with me. Including my cut and what would work best for me. She also gifted me with 2 fab lipsticks just out of kindness...wait Im not finished!! She gave me a head and neck massage when she washed my hair! She took great care in styling my hair as well. Her warm personality literally changed my day! Thank you Jen! I came to salon to have my colored fixed better. I have been to many since I moved to this country. No one understand the blonde I want or can do for me. I sat with very nice girl and the owner put me with Erica. She is a blonde expert. I booked with her and when I come to my appointment she listen to me and was very smart. She did what I wanted and told me what was best for me and my money. She always checking on me to see my color under dryer. I very very happy and am blonder than ever. I book with her every 6 weeks. I had the pleasure of meeting Deveny last evening at Elkae Salon. It was my first time at the salon and my hair was a mess. The hard water in Largo FL made my hair dry and lifeless. Not to mention, caused my color to fade badly. Deveny was fun and lively and it eased my mind immediately. She turned my hot mess into soft locks. Her knowledge of products was amazing. I’ve been going to Leah for years and every time she’s done a fabulous job. Her salon is so clean and beautiful! She’s the best!

I had hair extensions put on for the first time in Europe and they lasted 6 months. Leah was recommended to me from the place I bought the extensions from. She is the one that directed me to buy the hair I bought. She told me that she is been doing keratin tip hair extensions for a long time. She also said that they should last me for at least 4 months. I had them put on on August 21. A couple weeks later I lost about 5 strands. They just slipped right out. I called her (it was through the hurricane Irma) and she told me to stop by and have her check them. I couldnt go and I left for Europe on September 17 and came back on October 22. In the mean time I lost almost half of the hair. Just slipping right off, no pain, no pulling, just slipping right off. The hair that I had put before that never ever did that. I went to see her, she said. I am a professional, I have been doing this for a long time and I dont know why this happened. It must be the hair (the hair she told me to buy). She said, if you want go get some more hair and I will do a fill. And of course charging me again the same price she originally charged. No, thanks. Bad attitude, terrible customer service.
