Changed to a new practice after close to 20 years as a patient here. Incompetent doctors, couldnt figure out my joint pain was from the meds they put me on, sent me for physical therapy and a biopsy instead. Has become a revolving door of doctors, I havent seen one regularly in the last 5 years. They hold your essential prescription refills hostage until you come in and pay for a visit. Done with this place.

10/22/2021Wednesday I received my drive-up flu shot. It was quick, easy and painless. I was actually 45 minutes early for my appointment since another appointment I had just down the street was over earlier than anticipated. I decided to stop by to see if they could take me early, and they happily accommodated me. I even received a lollipop!! This is the 2nd year I have done drive-thru and love it!!

This is my second year of using Detweiler Family Medicine’s “drive-by” flu shot service and I love it! In literally 2 minutes both my husband and I had our flu shots without even getting out of the car—couldn’t be easier! Also, the office has always quickly responded to questions and medication refills I’ve sent through my patient portal.

This practice is phenomenal. I have been going here for years. I love being able to go to the walk-in express care and receive quick yet professional care, have my questions answered and medication prescribed. Every single provider is knowledgeable and caring. The care provided here is immaculate and super convenient. Pleased at every visit. Call, go online, or walk in - they are there for you!

Worst ever. I had appointment with assistant doctor today at 2:00 noon. Right after 30 minutes i went Rite aide farmacy to pick up my medicine.they check & medicine not send by Detweler family. Then i call back ti doctor office. They said we are sending now.Then I went to back Rite aide farmacy.but they dis not received yet again.i call family doctor office again. They said it is system processing now. It will take time. Then i get tired. I went home without medicine.Then i feel bad without medicine. Evening time at 6:00 pm i went to Rite aide agin . They check system & found there is still no medicine yet . Then i call back to family doctor office. Receptionist said same thing agin we are sending prescriptions to Rite aide.Then i got mad i said please i want to talk with your supervisor or manager. She put me on hold 30 minutes then hang up, i call again and same girl picked up phone but she pretended like she was not that girl. Then again more conversation and it was 7:45 pm. I did not get. Now final they said they sent prescription. I went again farmacy and they again said no,Now i am going home back without medicine.

Worst service I ever seen. Requested for doctors referral 3 times. Every time they said they already send referral but they didn’t. As a result they canceled the appointment for referral. It was urgent. But they don’t care.

Detweiler Family Medicine is such a great doctors office. I usually see Dr. Shearer and she is amazing. She is super knowledgeable but always makes sure I am in control of my decisions. I had to go in for a work paper and it was so quick and easy.

If I could give zero stars I would. I don’t know what happened to this practice but it’s NOT the same as it was when I used to come here as a child. They make you fill out an updated HIPAA form every visit but NEVER actually update your information. They had my old address and number from YEARS ago still in their system even after I filled out a HIPAA form with the updated information multiple times before. Not to mention the complete and total lack of communication in this place. No one communicates with anyone in here and the wait time is HORRENDOUS. No wonder they’re constantly having the good doctors/nurses leave!

I am amazed at how easy it was to use the Express clinic they have at the office. On a Friday afternoon I had a medical issue that could have waited until Monday, instead I made a left turn and went to the walk in.very happy , and satisfied with my experience

Ive been a patient here since 2010 and Im very happy with the care Ive received from Robert Davis, and then Dr Parke. I think Dr Parke in particular has been great - hes diagnosed a few varied issues over the past couple of years quickly and accurately, but i never feel rushed in our appointments. After initial discussion and any physical exam, he always asks what else i would like to ask or talk about until hes sure i dont have any other questions or issues. Ive also needed to be referred to several specialists over the last year and that process has gone smoothly. Dr. Parke has diagnosed and treated more straightforward things, and didnt hesitate to send me to highly rated specialists in the philly suburbs when needed (that the office confirmed were in my insurance network).I think some of the issues i saw in other reviews from a couple of years ago arent accurate or have been addressed. For example, when I call to make an appointment (and Ive made many) Ive only been on hold for a maximum of a few minutes and then i make an appointment for a specific doctor i choose - and then my appointment is always with that doctor. Ive also never had to wait more than 5 days (and usually less) to get an appointment with my chosen doctor, and often there are same day appointments if you are flexible with who you see (in addition to the expresscare).

I went to this office to get my first Pap smear, being led to believe that their staff was “ trained” in gyno care. However, the PA that attempted the exam left me with more issues then I came in with. She went up to scrape my cervix twice, did not listen to me when I expressed pain, left me bloated and swollen ( unable to sit at work), bled for two days and now have a yeast infection because of the irritation. And, they apparently didn’t get a good enough sample even though she scraped repeatedly and roughly. Their office was completely unprofessional when I called to explain my discomfort. I received vague statements of “ that shouldn’t have happened, I don’t understand why you’re in pain, etc”. I had to leave the practice and search for an actual ob/gyn office to remedy their mistake.

Due to some unknown factor(s) my primary doctor is leaving this practice and I and other patients are not being notified professionally. Instead of sending letters to their patients to let us know of the changes we have to find out by calling to make an appointment.Being someone who does not deal with change easily I found it upsetting and annoying that a practice I have come to trust would do this to valued people.

Detweiler Family Medicine is a fantastic family medicine practice. Very efficient and comprehensive. Their electronic notification and sign in is very streamline. I have done telemedicine with them as well as in-person appointments. Their staff is great at calling in scripts and I love that they notify me when the script is sent to my pharmacy. The entire staff is friendly and outgoing. Today, I had an 8:30 AM appointment. I arrived at 8:15 and used their electronic sign-in and notification to them that I was physically there. At 8:16 I was told to come inside. I filled out a form and was called by the nurse before I was even completed with the form. She took my vitals and all of the information that I had for her and within five minutes the doctor was in to see me. So by 8:20 I was in the doctors office awaiting her arrival for an 8:30 appointment. I was on my way home at 8:45. Dr. Shearer is a wonderful doctor. She always has time to explain things to me and to answer any questions I may have. And shes also very personable. I highly recommend her as a primary care physician.

If you need a quick visit for something minor, last minute these guys are great.However, if something is really wrong, don’t come here. I have been coming here for 2 years for the same issue for them to rush me out and tell me the same thing (that it will take time to heal, I needed to be patient because my situation is not the best). They never took the time to really evaluate what was wrong and then when I went to a different physician they figured out the problem and gave me medication that is actually treated me. I spent two years and lord knows how many visits and WASTED my money for NOTHING. Very disappointed.

Ive been a patient here since I moved in 2013. While theyve been decent with service, I have noticed that the quality of staff is decreasing in the past 2 to 3 years. Time spent with doctors during an appointment has also shortened. Generally not friendly to patients. I will be looking for a new provider.

I have been a patient at Detweiler for a couple of years now. I have seen Dr. Shearer in the past and now am a patient of Dr. Parke due to work schedule conflicts. I have always been very happy with the care and service I have been provided but I have had some recent health concerns that Dr. Parke has gone above and beyond to help me through. I had some diagnostic testing done the day before Christmas Eve and did not expect a response until after the holidays but Dr. Parke called personally on Christmas Eve to discuss results. Furthermore, I called the office during Dr. Parkes vacation and sure enough, within a few of hours, I received a call from the office staff with his recommendation regarding my concerns. The care I have received from Dr. Parke has been nothing short of exceptional. I am very grateful for his professionalism and expertise, but am even more impressed by his compassion and authenticity in caring for his patients.

My mom got Flu shot last Wednesday via drive through and it was quick and easy. These folks are amazing, efficient and hardworking. It has been ten years with this office and I wanted to say I have never had any issues for my moms appointment, follow up, medication renewal etc. They do not just serve the community needs but they are always there for peoples need. On behalf of my family and in this crisis of time I wanted to give big thumps up to these frontline workers. Kudos to all Detweiler Family Medicine staff.

Been going there for some time now but because of poor incompinet untrained receptionest and a nasty manager who over talked me did not listen and was very rude i decided to change doctors the doctors are not the problem the workers are i had to find out a result from a test the one receptionist read me the results back and she told me everything was ok an hour later i get a call from their office and was told the woman read the results wrong she does not know what she is doing i was told well then why is she working there i asked because she is good at her job i was told what a joke she could have given me the wrong info that could of killed me in closing most of the doctors are good but they need to get different people to give out patience info thats right and stop playing games with peoples health and give them the answers they ask questions about in stead of laughing and making fun of the problems if i where the dotors who work there i would levave there in a heart beat because there staff and the office manager are rude and give them a bad name thats why there rating is a 2.5 out of 5 stars i recommend how ever is sick an need a doctor please do not go there

Dr. Mehta is the first doctor, of many, in five years who listened to me. My generic medication was not working and doctor after doctor said it was me. Dr. Mehta listened to me and taught the insurance company to get me the name brand. My levels are up and Im feeling better. I cant thank her enough

Because of changing insurance companies, I had to choose a new practice. A friend of mine had gone to this practice, but the physician that he was seeing had left to practice. I thought I would try them anyway because they accepted my insurance. I have to say I was disappointed.I had going there for an annual physical. And their physical was completely different than any physical that Ive had before. There was very little of an exam, more talking then Ive had before. During the exam they asked if I would like to get a flu shot,I told them I would. Before I knew it the doctor and the PA had left the room,, and did not get my flu shot. In reality I forgot myself. After I got home, I received a call from them saying that they forgot to check my height when I was there. I told them thats not all they forgot, that I was supposed to flu shot while I was there and that didnt happen.I guess my expectations were a bit higher than what they were used to. I was hoping to get the same quality or better than what I had before.When it comes to open enrollment again I will be considering other alternatives.

What a joke of a practice. Cant fill out prescriptions correctly, not receive faxes and communicate with other doctors offices even when they recommended the specialist. Have spent 3 weeks jusy trying to get this place to sign off on a physical for the dmv. To make sure I am in control of my diabetes and its bad that they have to sign off on that when I feel like I know more then the doctor does. They are more than happy to make sure they charge me for every thing. Super disappointed with this practice.

I have been using this office as my general practitioner for years. They monitor many of my prescriptions and my general health. Yesterday I went to get my flu shot. I had an appointment to receive my flu shot and I was able to stay in my car while they gave me the shot. It was extremely convenient and fast. This office is also approved for prescribing medical marijuana.

Ive been going to Detweiler for the last 3 years, I see Briana Jacobs and Morgan Leh, and they are so caring and genuine. They always listen to all of my symptoms and walk me through courses of action. I havent felt rushed or ignored, and really fell like Im in a better spot when I leave. Recently Ive been having motor trouble and vertigo, and Morgan Leh has been great with trying to get me to a neurologist, and giving me clear instruction of what, with my symptoms, would be considered an emergency. I really appreciate the care I receive from them.The only downside Ive had is waiting in an exam room for some time before being seen, but its a medical facility, Im not expecting them to drop everything for me.

I am writing this review to warn people of the horrible way in which I was treated. I have been loyal to Dr. Detweiler office for over 20 yrs, but it seems they are not loyal to their patients. I needed a referral for a dermatologist , for something rather serious in my opinion, (you know your own body), called Dr. Detweiler office several times, NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE, so had to leave a lengthy message. Did not hear back, the dermatologist office called said they had not received the referral, but would call over to try to help out (Someone Who Cares). I was denied a referral due to the fact I have not seem the doctor in 3 yrs. Called to discuss, no answer. Had to go over to the office were they said they could see me that afternoon, after the fact I already lost my appointment. Now I have to wait another month, guess I better pray its not cancer. Dr Detweiler has forgotten the oath they took to heal, to talk to their patients.They are only concerned with collecting money. Take my 30 dollar copay and insurance payment so they can take my temp, weight and blood pressure to tell me I need to see a dermatologist. They should be ashamed on how they treat people, I say people because I no others that have had similar experiences. I am switching doctors today. Oh and this will make you laugh, as your waiting for no one to pick up the phone, the message playing in the background is about how they have WALK-IN Express, they cant even answer they phone.

Someone in my family got sick and she literally had to get a Covid test, even though the doctor said that it was probably an infection or a summer cold. They also made her get a blood test and shes had a fever, and cough for the past 6 days. Theyre lengthening the process for no reason. If they know that she isnt Covid positive, why are hey making her take a blood test and an x-ray? Going to the ER is an option but its pretty daunting because shes severely immunocompromised and God forbid that in the ER, she might get Covid - 19. Theyre extremely unhelpful. Id rate them 0 stars if I could.

Please read all of the reviews! They’re not wrong! This place should be shut down. I wish I could give this place negative stars! I’ve been a patient there for at least 5 year and they’re very disrespectful. Not only are the wait times horrible but the Dr’s are as well. My daily prescription just ran out and it’s nearly impossible to get in the office to be seen. Expect to be on hold for at least 30+ min on the phone before someone then picks up the phone just put you on hold again. I’m a patient of Dr. Parke and the last time I was there he wanted me to get blood work done after a physical. Well, it’s kinda hard to get blood work without proper paperwork. The front desk handed me an email with names of things he wanted done. That’s not good enough Doc. I needed PROPER paper work. I just stopped going and I’m switching to another family doctor.

My wife just experienced the same situation as the previous poster. She had a 3:15 appointment and was there on time. She had her entire colon removed and after 3 surgeries has a J pouch which means she goes to the bathroom more frequently. When she got there she needed to use the bathroom and checked in 8 MINUTES late. She was told she had to leave because their policy is after 6 minutes you lose your appointment! I just hung up with the Director of HR there who was as rude and arrogant as could be. My question to her was would have rather had her soil herself so she wasn’t late? She had just been discharged from the hospital one week prior!! Wouldn’t anyone have looked at her record to see what was going on before telling her she had to leave? What do you all think? Do I have reason to be upset?

Refused to write me a script I needed regardless of multiple proofs of diagnosis. They won’t do any further testing that I need. I actually had a doctor or practitioner ask me, “what do you expect ME to do from this visit?” Insisted I go to a elsewhere because they would not help me treat the issue. I always wait way past when I should and the referrals they write are for places my insurance doesn’t even take which essentially makes the referrals useless. It’s almost like the admin staff just doesn’t feel like doing the footwork for the patients. It’s hard enough being sick, but it almost feels like they’re working against you?

If you value the lives of your loved ones, do not, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, permit them to be seen by this practice.You will be forced to wait weeks for an appointment and hours in the waiting room.On the phone, you will be told you are going to see a real doctor, but when you get there, the refrain is, Oh, the doctor is very busy today so you are being seen by the nurse. Yet, if you are seen by a nurse you pay the same price as if you were being seen by a doctor, sans the benefit of being seen by someone with a real degree.Two of my neighbors have had loved ones who have died while under the care of this practice. I do not intend to allow my body to be used as the mortar for the wall of some doctors new mansion.

We have been patients here for the last 25 years. Recently during the Pandemic several bad experiences have us looking for a new office. Things to be aware of if you have not seen this office in the last 2 years you are no longer considered a patient and since it is a Pandemic they are not accepting new patients. we were told go to go somewhere else perhaps a minute clinic.

Detweiler Family Medicine is the poorest excuse for a health facility I have ever come across in my life. Theyre dealing drugs out of that facility and Im currently reporting this to the FDA and the Better Business Bureau. I cant imagine the deaths and overdoses this place is responsible for. Office staff are not only rude, but incompetent. Doctors themselves most likely earned their degree online. This facility will be shutdown within the next six months due to their poor practices. They hold no moral values, no respect for any patient, and are only interested in what they can bill to your insurance company - most of this is fraudulent. They bill your insurance for services that were never rendered. They are only interested in being a pill mill to drug addicts because its easy for them to collect the money. DO NOT go here if you value your health or your dignity. Stay away! Two doctors left the practice with no notice because they didnt want to have their name behind the Detweiler establishment. Im sure once this place is investigated they will be closed immediately and indefinitely. Dr. Robert Detweiler himself will be walking out in handcuffs. I highly recommend seeking treatment at any other office in the United States. It would be more beneficial to visit your pets veterinarian; you would most likely receive better treatment. Ill be happy to see him receiving the same treatment in jail that hes been giving his patients.

My experience here was pretty standard until I got a bill in the mail a month later. I noticed that in addition to my new patient admission I was being charged for some random letters and numbers: G0444 and G0442. I googled these to find out they were for a depression screening and a alcohol abuse screening. I never requested either of these services be performed, and they wanted to bill me $80 for it. My insurance happened to be covering these services entirely, but regardless, I felt it was wrong to be charged for a screening i did not get or want. When I called to dispute the charges, they told me I did get the screening. Turns out, a depression screening is two questions long. $80 for a few questions, sounds like a fair price, right? And they sneak them into the middle of your patient history, without any sort of indication their will be an additional charges for answering these questions. So, I tell them I did not request the screening and it is unfair to bill me for answering few questions. They then claimed Your insurance company requires you to get these screenings. I had serious doubts. So, I called my insurance provider, who vehemently denied their claim. When I called Detweiler back to confront them, they changed their story, now saying it is not a requirement, but they give everyone these screenings and only charge those whose insurance covers it fully and write the rest off as a loss. What? How is this legal? Technically, I guess it isnt fraud since the services are rendered, but it feels like a very shady practice. Underhanded billing like this is the reason insurance premiums are so expensive in this country.

Dr. Evan Kessler is a horrible practitioner. Very abrasive and rude man. Will act nice to you in person but will bad talk to you to other patients and staff for refusing any of his off-the-walls recommended treatments. I have been a patient at Detweiler Family Medicine for the past 9 years. The providers are great, and do truly care about you. Ive seen Dr. Parke, Dr. Shearer, Dr. Detweiler, and Dr. Kessler. I used to see some of the NPs that worked there, and they were more than wonderful (I may be partial to NPs)! I have seen a lot of staff/provider turnover, but I believe this has been improving over the past few years. With their new management, the focus has shifted to being more patient-focused, rather than business-oriented.The office hours are convenient (especially the walk-in service), the wait time on the phones has decreased, and the response time of the providers has improved.

After being a patient for over 15 years, I would think I would have been given more than 4weeks notice that the office would no longer be providing me with the asthma and allergy care I need through my weekly allergy injections. This is not even enough time to find a specialist who can have the new serum made in a lab and administered before I lapse on treatment. I have seen the office grow over the years to the point where rarely you will see your actual MD, and wait times nevertheless have grown, even just for an appointment with a nurse.

Karen Anthony- Trying to schedule an appointment for my 87 year old today was very frustrating. Was scheduling on website, got message was unable to send my request at this time, try again later. Tried several times for the 2:45 PM appointment. Then tried calling. Was on hold 12 minutes and 30 seconds, someone picked up and was disconnected. Called back, on hold 13 minutes and by the time I spoke with someone there were no more appointments left today. Said they are double booked. I told them I was very concerned about my mother who got out of hospital 2 days ago, she seems weak today, want to set up daily nurse visit. Was put on a cancellation list. So much for same day appointments and being able to handle your patient load. Until today we were well satisfied with the practice but this is ridiculous. They are going downhill fast!

My family has been with this practice for a year now. The practice is large and staffed with DOs, PAs, and NPs. I like that the office is open from 8am - 8pm Mon-Thurs, and a shorter schedule on Friday and Saturdays. You are also able to call the office from 7:15am - 8:30pm most days, and they do not place the phones on service during the lunch hour (most offices place their phones on service during lunch time which is difficult when you are at work and only have that time slot to call for an appointment). Adding the Express Care Monday through Saturday also allows my family to be seen for acute health issues when appointments arent available. My family and I have been seen in both areas and are thankful for these options.

I have never been to be a better practice. They have open schedules so getting an appointment is quick, with minimal waiting room time. The Physician Assistants are very personable, attentive and knowledgeable. I recently saw Dr. Dunn who was very quick, efficient and also has amazing bedside manner.Ive been using this primary for almost two years and I have referred three friends/acquaintances. An office where an uncaring medical staff are courteous long enough to get you in to get your money so they can refuse to you any sort of treatment that requires them to do more than anything but fill out forms. You get medical assistants and nurse practitioners (NOT doctors) whose job seems to be getting their paperwork filled in and then tossing you out so they can get their money from the next patient. Even if they have to tell you to go to the hospital for something as small as a vaccine. They just wanna get you OUT.When I went there for a back injury, I had the most apathetic doctor tell me repeatedly I was imagining things and to take a bayer and get over it. Later I found out that bayer might as well be code to women that their issues are considered just woman psychological BS. When I finally got a different practitioner, I got the same spiel before saying anything until I insisted on a physical exam to which the practitioner showed surprise that I had actual physical evidence something was wrong with me. This makes me think he wrote on my chart that I was a hypochondriac thus affecting how further doctors approach my issue. Dangerous. The only time I had good service was when the doctor ONLY had to sign a form which he was more than happy to do since it required nothing of him. Still I received a bill for that as well. If you value your life and your health, seriously dont get here because they only value your money.

I I have been a patient here for over four years. Things have changed and for the better. I think dr. Shearer and dr Parke are awesome providers. Thats not to say that the other providers here are good but Ive only had the chance to see dr. Park and Dr shearer. The staff here has been changing and for the better. My last visit here the medical assistant Ken was awesome and Vee who drew my blood was great. I cant wait to see to changes this place is making. Rock on guys way to hear us and make changes.

My husband and I have been patients at Detweiler Family Medicine for several years. We appreciate the courtesy, professionalism, and kindness of the doctors, nurse practitioners, and support staff. They have such extensive office hours that it has never been difficult to schedule an appointment. They also have a dispensary in the office that fills prescriptions at very good prices. That is so convenient!

Do not go to this place. They are so big and so busy they do not care about thier patients. They are just a corporation. They forget to call about important lab results that require new medication. They make you come into the office to pick up routine refill prescriptions because they are controlled. Really they just want the $125 fee from the insurance company.There are so many doctors you never see the same one 2x and you have to keep explaining your same issue over and over and over again. They have lost records and samples. They are just too big and do not need your business.

I came in for a routine check, and told the nurse practitioner about my symptoms she referred me to their cardiologist. The cardiologist was very friendly however he kept wanting to add tests to my appointment, I asked him to make sure its covered by my insurance, he said sure, and I underwent these tests that ended up not being covered and he charged me $600 saying I never told him to check.

Detweiler Family Medicine is the best Primary Care office Ive been to. The staff is prompt and courteous, and Dr. Parke takes really good care of me.One thing that makes Detweiler Family Medicine different from other primary care offices Ive been to is that they have a pharmacy on the premises. This way when the doctor gives me a prescription Im actually able to get the medicine on the spot before I leave. Other doctors offices leave me having to drive all around town to get the medicine I need. Highly recommend!

Detweiler Family Medicine & Associates Your office and the way you handle your patients sucks! We are switching doctors. Every time I come in for a sick visit or any type of visit it ends up being 2 visits in total to get the medicine I or my family needs. I was just there for a sick visit. I waited a week or more before I even made the appt. A week after steroids and I am still coughing. I just called since it had only been a week since I was in to ask for a prescription as now I have been sick for 3 weeks. And you freaking call in an inhaler. Which I have and have been using as needed all ready. But you refuse to call in a prescription for an antibiotic because I need to be seen again! Screw you...My whole family will be switching to some place that cares about me and my families health and not another dollar.

After living up and down the East Coast, this has been my favorite practice yet. The reviews are correct regarding wait times and such however. Also, this I s a very busy practice so you do not want to be late for your appointment or they may not be able to fit you in.I have been seen by multiple members of this practice now and I highly recommend seeing the nurse practitioner, Maureen Gardo. She has taken the time to listen and actually hears what I’m saying in order to make solid health decisions from there. She is also the most friendly person I have been seen by in the office.

So unbelievably rude. I was a few min late due to traffic (an accident happened) and the girl at the front desk was unbelievably rude. I had driven 40 min to get to the appointment and I couldnt even be seen because of an accident which is out of my control. The doctor was clearly free at the point since she was supposed to be seeing me at that time. I find it hard to imagine that the doctor all of a sudden had someone else to see.Also the appointments are super short. You sit there for over an hour to only see the doctor for not even 5 min.

Dr. Detweiler has been my doctor since I was 25 26 years old. I am 56 years old now dr. Detweiler is a wonderful doctor. I have some problems with his staff in the past but not with with dr. Detweiler once you find a great doctor stay with them if you can. I dont care how long it takes I will see dr. Detweiler soon he stay with you you can talk to him about anything

I love Detweiler Family Medicine. I see Michelle, and Katlyn, and theyre both awesome. They always remember me, and what was going on the last time I was in. They really care about you, and will do what is best for you. They are also open 7 days a week, and can usually get you in the same day you call in if youre sick. I wouldnt go anywhere else! Highly recommended.

We brought our elderly father in to the walk-in clinic since we could not get them to answer their phone to set up a regular appointment after he had two falls in rapid succession this past Thursday morning.Rather than being seen by his regular M.D., he was seen by a crazy-looking snaggletoothed woman with unkempt hair by the name of Brianna Jacobs, who is alleged to be a physicians assistant. Lets be clear: My father could not even stand up without assistance, and rather than ordering tests or referring him to the hospital, she recommended that he, ...Drink more water and eat more food...My father has a history of TIAs and had never had balance issues until the morning of the 14th. The physicians assistant at Detweiler Family Medicine had access to his records and should have known about his risk of stroke.After walking out of the exam room, my father nearly fell again, and with the assistance of myself and two OTHER PATIENTS IN THE WAITING ROOM, we were able to get him into my car. None of the staff from the practice noticed his near-fall, and no one offered assistance.After getting him home, he fell two more times and was injured, with dizziness and severe nausea persisting despite drinking more water and eating more food. Despite the practices urging that there was no cause for concern, I rushed my father to the hospital, where, after extensive testing was performed, it was determined that he was having a STROKE. It was also determined that he had suffered permanent damage to the portion of his brain responsible for equilibrium and that he may continue to have balance problems for the rest of his life. After consulting with an attorney, we have learned that the doctors office could have administered TPA to dissipate the clot causing the stroke and thus prevent further brain damage. The fact is, any layperson could have figured out that something was seriously wrong and that emergency care was called for.As it turns out, Ms. Jacobs has exposed this practice to a great deal of liability, so it will be interesting to see if they choose to continue to employ her. I personally wonder if her medical credentials are genuine. It is only a matter of time before someone loses their life because of this type of incompetence.

Horrible used to be such a great Doctors office until they transformed into what seems to be a factory assembly line. I have been going there for 15 years had so many people join and feel like they dont respect their patients anymore. Now very poor management and very greedy I left today after 15 years its a shame they turned into greedy money hungry jerks!

I’m a 33 male and went in for a physical. I didn’t have to wait more then 10 minutes. When I saw the doctor, she took BP/rate, and checked my ears throat and pushed on my stomach. That was the extent of my physical. There was no check for testicular cancer, there was nothing other than what I listed above. My insurance company was billed $350 for that. 2 $40 charged for annual health screening and a $270 charge for preventative care.Not sure what they did that was preventative care and why 2 charges for annual health screening? I could see it costing $80, which would be ridiculous for 10 minutes of BP and Heart rate....but $350!?Thankfully my insurance picked it all up....but if we ever question why insurance rates are high...this nonsense is the reason.

I am new to the area and this facility came highly recommended, both my sons have seen Doctors, which by the way are wonderful, however I am displeased with the front desk staff especially over the phone conversations, I called to speak to a nurse and was told by front desk that I needed to discuss with her whats going on before she can have me talk with a Doctor, frankly her whole attitude was less than desirable. Why would I want to discuss my sons personal challenges with her when she isnt a doctor or my concerns for that matter. Just a waste of our time and needless to say I am pretty upset, enough to find a new physical

I like my primary doctor but all other staffs members (office supervisor, billing staffs, few front desk staffs, etc) are not friendly and have poor customer service. Waiting period for seeing doctor takes about approximately 30 min. - 50 min. Once you are in office, you have to register and after your registration, you are in waiting room for approximately 10-20 min. Nurse takes you to examination office and you wait for doctor for approximately another 20-30 min. It takes too much time of waiting to see doctor. I have a child who needs a doctor to complete the school physical form for participating on the sport and office indicates that i need to pay $15-25 fee for doctor to completing this form. Any school form should be completed by primary doctor as a service if the patient is your retain patient but office charges additional for completing this form. Insurance company does not cover this visit because it is not sick nor annual physical visit therefore parents need to pay an office visit to get a check up by doctor will cost $50 for its visit. Office policy is terrible (there is no providing service mind; it is all about making a money from patients) I only go there because it is closer to my home but I do not recommend anyone for this place.

This place is only relevant if you have a ton of free time on your hands. First, it takes a half hour to talk to someone on the phone to make an appointment. Also, when I called to make an appointment the female I spoke with was very disrespectful and unreliable. Next, I waited 15 minutes beyond my appointment time to get called into a room. Then I waited in the room for 45 minutes before the doctor came in and did not help me with what I was there for. I saw a different doctor than usually and this doctor questioned another doctor. This place is way too unorganized for my liking, therefore switching doctors.

I was treated terribly.i would give a 0 if I. Oils. I am a almost middle aged school teacher and I have to deal with very young staff members who did not have manners. Came to my appointment 35 minutes away. Was 6 minutes late. Tried signing into Kiosk kiosk 3 times. Computer would not sign me in. Then I went to wait in a line at the front desk. When a I reached the desk person told me I was considered a no show. I explained I was now 10 minutes late because of trying to use their computer that did not work and then waited in line. Spoke to manager who would not help me. They were rude, and very uncooperative. Clearly do not care about the patients at this facility. I have had to wait 30 minutes in their waiting room to be seen by a doctor there before and they couldn’t give me the courtesy to follow through on their end of the appointment commitment when I was 6 minutes late! Do not go there! They are a very irrational unprofessional medical office!

The wait times are obscene. Ive been going here for about 3 years and it has gotten so bad lately, tonight is likely my very last visit here. I was told my appointment was 3pm. I got here on time waited till 3:37pm and was then told no it was 3:30pm. It is now 4:19pm and I still have not seen the doctor.The lead doctor came in and apologized and promised to look into it. It made it better but I hope they fix the issue. From what im reading below Im not the only one. Upgraded to a 2.5.

PLEASE stay await from this office if you dont want to have headache or angry later . I am a new patient with this office. I will never come back this office again. The lobby is very nice. Waited 15 minutes in the lobby. Waited 45 minutes in the room, the first person showed up is practical. Waited for 20 minutes more, finally doctor showed up. The doctor was friendly and spoke with me for 2 minutes, that was all. BILLING Department is HORRIBLE. I had cold; therefore, I visit this office. They charged my insurance and asked me to pay the total is $92 for the visit. My insurance statement listed that I had Depression and Alcohol screens. I am not a metal, smoking or drinking person, but they claimed that they did those test for me. I called my insurance for the detail of the cover. My insurance contacted the office and asked them for detail. The office told my insurance was I was pretty sick when I came to their office. That is a how they treat their patients? Is that because I was very sick and they can charge anything they want? Thank you very much for a lesson that I will stay await from you detweilerfamilymedicine!

My experiences with Detweiler Family Medicine have been terrific. The quality of care is excellent. I work in the financial service industry so I am acutely aware of the importance of prompt and friendly service. I have always experienced both at DFM. Perhaps most important is the quality of care I receive. I greatly appreciate the personal attention Dr. Shearer gives me during my visits. She takes the time to walk me through a diagnosis and has the patience to answer my often numerous questions. Her explanations are in laymans terms so I never leave a visit with any doubts.I would highly recommend DFM to anyone.

I have been a patient at this practice for over 10 years and have decided to find a new place. The doctors for the most part are great, so the long wait times somewhat even out. My complaint is about the admin staff. They are very rude and unorganized. I got vaccines done back in August and asked for the records to be mailed to me. Ive called twice since then and was told both times they would be mailed. The last time I called, I asked them to call me when they were sending the records. That was 1 week ago and I have yet to hear from them. They have also lost my medical records twice, as they have failed both times to import them into their electronic system. Whenever I go see the doctor, they seem to have no record of past complaints and chronic illnesses in which I deal with. Ive had to explain my health history to them nearly 6 times in the past 3 years. The front desk workers are snippy and inattentive. I once waited in front of the desk for about 5 minutes without so much as a simple acknowledgement. Honestly, going to this office causes more headaches than they cure.

I wasted 15 years years of my life thinking that I have a family doctor that is going to care for me and my family. I have been using this office for a longtime but when I needed them most they are not there for me.I have a back problem that I carry for years. every I go there, they always prescribe Motrin and muscle relaxant. I called them this morning three times for same prescription for my back pain. today is Saturday I was told no we cannot send you a prescription. and the office manager and my supposed to be my family doctor advised me to go to urgent care if the pain is unbearable.the hell with this office and the hell the doctors that work there. bunch of crooks. Stay away from them. Money money thats all they look for.Worst office, worst manager and worst doctors ever.youve been warned dont waste your time
