As a survivor of the nightmare of sexual assault and of stalking, I was mocked and derided by staff when I tried joining a support group even after being told by management, that I would be welcome. However, when I got there the receptionist made it very clear I should leave and not return. Why? Because I am a man. Moreover, from what I understand this has happened to other men, which is why I have created a website specifically for male survivors. Consequently, I am currently considering legal action. Furthermore, I urge other male survivors to contact their lawyers!We understand that you didn’t feel welcome... With having been told to get out and dont return, I guess you could say, that I didnt feel welcome. Furthermore, having already contacted YWCA management concerning this incident on more than one occasion it is clear to me and others, that their carefully scripted response is less than heartfelt!At this writing, I and others have started blogging about the callous double-standard concerning male abuse victims at the YWCA and are also building a website detailing our experiences. They can and probably will be this review, but WE WILL BE HEARD!!!!

At the time of being here on the homeless status its been rough because everyone here live a different way. as Ive been here I have learned and overcame a lot also grew even more as my son and I have been being here for time being we even grew some friendships its been a rough road but with the friendships that we had gained it helps keep things easier. Im so grateful for this place

The people who work here are all so great! I would have never been able to graduate and land my first job as a nurse if it hadnt been for the people here who are constantly here for me and my family. Thanks Ywca!

It was like living in prison. There are bedbugs and roaches and it was very dirty. I paid five hundred and thirty five dollars a month for a room that was very very small. When I left I gave them a thirty day notice cleaned my room, and because I left in the middle of the month they didnt give mey deposit back. I highly suggest not living there.

I have a female family member here at the YW and see a humorous amount of help and support for her and her baby. Just give the YW a chance any negative feed back is probably someone who may not know that there are rules and boundaries everywhere. But if you can stick it out theres a reward at the END.

Im sure the YW has other programs that are great. However, when it comes to child care, they lack of professionalism and communication (From the director and her assistant) are high. From the very beginning, it took them 1 month to return my call, then 1 month to be in the waiting list when my daughter was finally admitted to the program, there was no information as to where to drop off my daughter during snow days, when trying to call they never answer their phones, their objective is for you to leave a vm and they will return your call. Per my understanding, I was to bring my daughter to the N. Lime location during snow days.. well that was not the case, when bringing the issues to the Director, she got upset and started raising her voice not allowing me to speak. They keep the kids in the basement and food is not provided which is not a problem IF THEY ACTUALLY KEEP YOU INFORM. Btw the before and after school staff never helped my daughter with reading or homework (?) When I asked if she did homework, the answer was she didnt say she had homework oh yeah! I never received a access card for my daughter 😂😂 ladies, shop around for other child care facilities.
