I very much enjoyed Conestoga Pines pool this summer. The large trees make for a pleasant picnic area. The restrooms and shower room need remodeled.

My grandaughter is taking ballet lessons. Its very affordable and the personnel are good people with their customers.

Amazing nonprofit organization in Lancaster, PA. Sports, wellness, and learning all happen within these walls as well as a bevy of events throughout the community that are imagined and grown as a vital part of the mission of Lancaster Rec.

My son plays and has been playing for the rec for many years. I also help coach. Amazing activities and sports taking place. Staff is amazing. I just wish the prices were a little more affordable.

Wonderful staff who care. Very affordable day care and after care pricing! Great all year programs for kids, teens, adults and seniors all year long. One basketball court inside and Iabout 4 outside. Handicap parking and entrance are available.

Mr. T and Ms. A at the before and after school care at Thomas Wharton Elementary School are amazing. They care about the kids and are able to have fun with them and still have structure. Thank you for being there each morning for my daughter. Your consistency and positive attitudes mean a lot and dont go unnoticed by our family.

This is a great community center with a variety of programs and activoties. Summer playgrounds are free of charge and offer swimming, free lunch/ snack and activities. Check the website (which is comprehensive) for more info.

My friends daughter comes home most days and explains all the bad things that the pool staff be saying in front of them. They are so unprofessional! She even mentioned that one of the “pool staff” was talking badly about another. My friends daughter does this camp every year, and it has been nothing but amazing people and attitudes but this year something is different. You guys need to talk to your pool staff (the older ones)

This is a multipurpose facility for throwing anything from baby showers to Bday parties. My young daughter ballet and tap lessons are given here. They also provide services for many youth athletic leagues throughout Lancaster City.

This is a wonderful organization with several activities for all ages in the entire community. I highly recommend any activities or programs through the rec.

My family recently rented the Fairview Room for an event, and we loved the facilities. The building is newer, it had an updated kitchen and the building was overall clean and organized. Id like to give the rec center more stars, but the manager on duty for our event was disorderly.She helped herself to several plates at our buffet without asking, and ate far more than we were comfortable with. Her trips to refill her plate interrupted the event and disracted guests. She even took several cupcakes that were specially made for our event, again without asking for permission. She also outright stole decorations. My father was cleaning up a bundle of balloons he had specially ordered, when the manager on duty untied them, said her grandchildren would love them, then locked the balloons in her office. Some other food and decorations were missing after we cleaned up, and we suspect she helped herself to those as well.While I caution that you watch what the manager does during your event, the rec center was, at heart, a nice location.

There are two good playgrounds, four (lighted) basketball courts where there is always at least one court available to play on, and of course all the activities inside the rec.

Had my daughters birthday party there and everyone was so nice and accommodating :)

Horrible. Every year my bill gets screwed up. Every year so far I haven’t received a childcare statement unless i go in and ask for it. Says on the door that the office opens at 8:30. I waited inside because the door was open til almost 9:30 one time. Seriously there are kids there and the door was open for anyone to walk in and nobody was there. Staff hasn’t ever taken responsibility for their screw ups. Im self pay and if i had a more flexible option I would use it. Shameful the way they have treated me every time. It takes a ton of disappointment for me to actually write a negative review but this has been extremely unacceptable

The programs offered by the Lancaster Recreation Center are great. Being a single Mom of three and constantly battling to find back up care is stressful and all day camp and after school program helps to meet some of my needs on that. However, on a different note, I am totally apalled by my dealings with certain staff members and the director. Initially, I only had complaint about one person. Now it goes beyond that due to the fact that two times sideway comments were made in front of me while dropping my children off. When other staff members are making rude comments, that is when you know your situation or complaint were not handled properly with confidentiality. They care more about filling the position then their customers from my personal experience. I am adding more to this post from months ago bc it was not allowing me to make a new post. Anyway, today I was kicked out of the program bc recently I lost my cool on site after trying to get an explanation from the girl who denied my daughter her inhaler when she was short of breath. When she was not willing to talk, I became more upset. As a parent, I feel like I am owed some explanation. Naturally, I think most parents would be upset about that if their problem was not being handled well. Then instead of handling initial problem well, they used my moment of indiscretion to eliminate me bc of what it states in the policy book. I would not have reacted badly if staff would have been decent and not shut me down and speak to me about the situation. That just shows more guilt on their part. Most daycare settings openly discuss if there is an issue of some sort to try to resolve the matter. Not this program. They pushed me to anger more until I lost my cool then used that against me. Even though an investigation was conducted and declared unfounded, I do not know why my daughter would tell me something like this. I believe my daughter was medically neglected and I do not think a truly thorough investigation was conducted. Thank God nothing bad happened to her. They should still be held accountable in my opinion though. My advice is, if you have a child with asthma or some type of medical need; it may not be the best choice of program for your child. Like I said before, the program itself is great. I think they need to rethink who is directing it.
