I delivered at women’s and babies in March to my beautiful son. I can’t say enough great things about my L&D nurses. A special shout out to Tina! It was a goal of mine to do delivery entirely unmedicated. If it wasn’t for her years of experience, laboring positions, and encouragement I don’t think my husband and I could have done it. She encouraged me the entire time and kept things moving. I’m so thankful she was my nurse. She truly made my experience better. My son had to spend time in the NICU and we have nothing but amazing things to say about the level of care he received there. Every care provider was kind, empathetic, and positive through our whole time at the hospital. We were able to go home with our son and I’m forever grateful for that.I will definitely be returning to women and babies for my next baby (God willing).

Had my first baby here an it was the worst experience of my life. The staff were rude an extremely rough with my daughter, the one nurse almost dropped a light on her head. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Honestly better off giving birth literally anywhere else but here!!! I also have a friend whos sister came here an her experience was awful as well.

I delivered here 2 weeks ago and had a really positive experience. Every person I came into contact with was very pleasant and polite and I can’t speak highly enough of the nurses! They were so helpful during my labor and my stay here I truly felt like we were in good hands. Would highly recommend.

I had my baby here 6 days ago. I had an amazing experience. I was scared when they took me into the operating room and I guess they could see it on my face. They kept me calm and updated on how the procedure was going (couldn’t see or feel anything). They helped to make it the best moment of my life. While in recovery they constantly checked on me and made sure I wasn’t in pain. 10/10 I would recommend them.

Im currently 38 weeks and 5 days. When I called in saying Im having a lot of pain, I tried everything they told me; the lady told me Im fine and to take a bath (even though I already have). It turned out Im 3cm dilated and 80 percent effaced. The doctors told me they cant do anything for me until my water breaks or Im 39 weeks. I have strep b which puts my baby at risk for getting sick once my water is broken. So I got sent home since they apparently cant do anything. The nurses who seen me were very polite and caring, but the lady I talked to on the phone made me feel like I didnt even want to go in at all.

They wouldnt let me in the room to see my own child being born because mother and I were no longer dating. If I could do it over, get a custody agreement made ASAP or you will have your rights taken away in this county for just being a male. So far $25,000 in just attorney fees to have 50% custody, not including the $500 a month I have to give to support mom. No criminal background, just over a decade left. Hopefully law reform is soon on the rise. Fingers crossed for equality! Well get there America!

My Woman had a C Section 3 weeks ago. Doctors and nurses done a wonderful job I gotta give them credit for what they do best. In the other hand today at 4am My Woman Me and our Newborn got treated like Animals in the front desk. Front desk lady is wrong for what she said to us and our newborn. Wasn’t professional at all. She acted more like a Animal her self. That’s all I got to say.

I had an excellent experience giving birth to my son here. Everyone was polite and knowledgeable. In all honesty I’d rather give birth in my car while driving In the middle of a snowstorm then go back to this place. When you have a gut feeling, follow your gut. These people care about one thing and that’s their paycheck. I give 0/10 stars highly do not recommend. Haven’t even givin birth yet, 38 weeks, and refusing to go back. I WILL NOT be going back for ANYTHING.

I just had my baby here. My nurses were so kind and accommodating. The doctors are understanding, they helped explain everything I needed to know. Everyone down to the anesthesiologist who was with me during the C- section were professional, comforting, and encouraging. I was thrilled when a massage therapist came by to offer a massage- She also was relaxing and helpful. I think its amazing and so commendable for a hospital to offer holistic support for new moms. The doctors and nurses in the NICU are efficient, competent, and reassuring. They always greeted me with a smile on their faces and treated my baby with the best care possible. I would highly recommend this hospital.

My niece was born here and I remember feeling so much love, care, and attention from the staff and I wasnt the one having a baby. Just goes to show you the amazing level of care to which my sister (the actual delivering mom to be) did receive. I was so happy to know my sister was in safe hands. My niece is now a bright, silly, and beautiful 6 year old. Her birth experience alone 6 years ago is a constant reminder of where I wish to deliver my own children once i start a family. Thank you!!!!!!!! I love you guys! The staff, facility, and care is superb, second to none!

I gave birth to my first baby here in 2015. While it is a very nice hospital that makes u feel comfortable to give birth there, some of the nurses were very rude. I needed help trying to breast feed a few times, and the nurse said something to me that made it seem like she had other things to do and also seemed disgusted at my breasts....and when i had to have the balloon put in me because i wasnt dilated enough, i was telling the nurse i couldnt pee and that it hurt and she had an attitude. Only a few staff were nice.

So far I have been to two appointments there with my second child. I couldn’t return to my first ob due to changing insurance so I went to this place which was recommended by a friend. I am so disappointed. The staff is borderline rude and uncomforting. In fact I don’t think I ever felt more uncomfortable walking into a doctors office ever. They have not been informative or respectful and I plan on switching to a new ob immediately. This is not someplace I trust to deliver my baby. Bad vibes all over, the only person there even pleasurable is the check in woman behind the front desk. Nurses and doctors are just down right acting like you inconvenience them. It’s like they forget they are working with hormonal and sensitive women at a delicate time in their life. No thanks.

I live in NJ and had to go to PA to drop my son off. Coming back thru Lancaster, my little girl decided to make her entrance, 4 weeks before my due date. I panicked and ended up at Womens and Babies hospital at 3pm, had her at 3:38pm. I had no medical history with this hospital but you would have thought I was an actual patient coming there, for years. It was a beautiful hospital. The staff were amazing. A scary situation really turned into a wonderful experience because i ended up at a great hospital.

First Id like to note that my wife and I have 2 children and one on the way. Weve experienced difficulties with past pregnancies that have lead to heartbreak and now we are considered high risk. This is the first time that weve dealt with womens and babies and to say our experience so far has been disappointing would be an understatement. It seems that we see a different doctor every time and none of them share info. My wife is currently 41 weeks and has been on the schedule to be induced 3 times now. Every time we get ready to go, we get a phone call stating that they are overbooked or too busy to take us. Weve been pushed off and left waiting too many times. Weve heard several times from friends and family that womens and babies was a great place to be cared for. I cant say the same after our experiences. I can only hope that other families get better treatment and the care that they deserve.

Inconsistent. Had some REALLY AWFUL experiences and some good ones. Had a hysterectomy and the first night there every time I started to fall asleep I stopped breathing. I would wake up gasping, with the monitor beeping. In the minute or two that it took the patient care person to come check, I would become fully awake and breathing so my oxygen would be back to normal. They would leave, Id start to nod off, stop breathing, wake up gasping with alarm going off. This happened a half a dozen times, and I told nurse/attendant what was happening and they basically said it was all in my mind, and thought the monitor was malfunctioning. At shift change new nurse listened to me, said morphine can do that, and turned off the morphine drip, and I slept fine after that. Also problem with catheter, I kept saying my bladder was full, there was urine in the tube but none past the valve that connects to longer tube and bag and no urine in bag. I kept telling them bladder was getting worse and worse and they said all was fine. Then the pulled out catheter and I went to bathroom and peed in measuring device they had and they were like wow, 650 ml! It is usually a drop! Yeah, nothing in the bag, lots in my bladder, but it is all in my head that the catheter isnt working. The rest of the staff was great, the rest of my care was good (there two days). Oh and food- also inconsistent- french toast one day was great, next day it was bread soaked in raw egg, barely cooked, pure mush.

Lymphedema Manual Lymph Therapy. The new Barshinger Cancer Institute can be reached by going inside and thru a huge lobby area. The also have Philadelphia Art Institute painting decorating the walls. It makes it really nice! They are lending them here and I was told they will change. Nice feature besides treatment for a very difficult illness. Not many clinics around anymore. Clean organized and there are various fountains here too. Large place. I go back in 2 weeks to start treatment.

I can not say enough as in I should of read the bad reviews. The mid wives are idiots. You may be treated like a animal. Then they blame mistakes they make on you. Later after delivery they will act like you have no rights if they get your baby in there NICU. You will be lucky to hold. Breast feed, or have a clue if your baby will be coming home at some point. They will keep you from talking to a doctor to have a clue to what there up to while again treating the parents like strangers. Dont trust this place. Please think twice.

My son was delivered here and given away before I even knew he was born. Then they tried to hide what they did and refused to tell me where my child was. I had to have police go down there to get me information on what they did. Turns out they gave him to an adoption agency. This was not court ordered our concented to. They literally gave my son to strangers and tried to hide what they did. Do not go here and please spread what they did. They keep taking my review down but I wont be silenced!

I recently delivered my daughter prematurely at 36 weeks via (unplanned) c-section at Womens and Babies; I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff there. From the front desk staff, the nurses, doctors, lactation specialist, dining staff....everyone was so accommodating and friendly . Having to have a c-section last minute was scary and wasnt something I was expecting. The nurses were extremely understanding of how nervous I was and really put my mind at ease with the procedure. The doctors were very quick and let me know the progress step by step during the surgery. My daughter spent several days in the NICU; the nurse Kelly spent so much time with us educating us on how to care for baby and helping with breastfeeding. We are so grateful we had our daughter there and all of the help/information we received from the staff. I wouldnt want to have delivered anywhere else!

Premature baby delivered at 28 weeks by emergency C-section. The staff in the OR was great, they explained what was happening during the surgery, while a team including NICU nurses and the neonatologist (Dr. Mahajan) were waiting. The anesthesiologist was kind and understanding (not afraid of needles but a big one going into my spine freaked me out). Everyone had a job and performed it well. The team worked like a well oiled machine. The post-op care was excellent, and as soon as I had recovered (about an hour later) they wheeled me (in the bed) to the NICU to see my son.The NICU staff was great, the nurses were very patient and explained what all of the equipment was, what the numbers on the displays meant, and what was going on with our boy. We met with his care team every other week to discuss his progress and treatment plan, so we felt in the loop. They brought in a pediatric pulmonologist and a pediatric cardiologist from Hershey to address his health issues. We appreciated not having to send him to a larger hospital for care. He spent 98 days in the NICU, and the nurses were starting to feel more like family by the end of it. The lactation consultants were also friendly and offered good suggestions.I have no complaints, the hospital is clean, parking is free and usually not too crazy (park behind the building if the front lot is full). Staff is professional, highly competent and friendly. NICU care is excellent. You can go to the NICU at any time of day or night to see your baby (except when the doctors are doing rounds in the morning). I will go here again if I ever am pregnant again. I would recommend this hospital to friends and family.
