Hes very upfront about what you need...and also did a great job with my surgery

My fiancé went to see Dr. Thurmond’s assistant one time and him twice. After a different test, and X-rays he was told that nothing looked out of the ordinary. After months of being in pain, visiting ER’s, urgent cares, and taken pain meds, he finally got the help he needed. Dr. Thurmond seemed annoyed that my fiancé was seeing him for the second after his assistant said that everything looked fine. I feel he went through months of needless pain & suffering. I’m thankful he found an amazing neurologist that listened to him & corrected the issues. Just goes to show you that you have to be your own self advocate.

I never thought i would walk again. The quality of life in pain and having a slip disk in your back is scary. I was in bed for three months and finally was pointed in the right direction after making the wrong decisions by going to a chiropractor. And finally I got to meet Doctor Thurmond. The best doctor ever!!!! Now I can walk again and he made surgery seem like a breeze. I am so thankful for the rest of my life that he saved me. I am going on the age of 45 and every day to start the day in my mind I will never forget Doctor Thurmond. Im now walking again with no pain and my life is back to normal. If you have any back problems he will fix you with no worries............

I feel fortunate that I had Dr. James Thurmond as my surgeon. I can’t thank him enough, I will never be able to repay him what he did for me. My pain that I experienced was horrible. I had a herniated disk in my neck and the pain radiated down my right arm and caused numbness in my pointer finger and thumb. I couldn’t do anything, especially sneeze. Sneezing was the worse pain I felt at that moment and made my entire body feel like it was on fire.Dr. Thurmond explained what was wrong on my MRI and showed me exactly where the problem was located in my neck (C/6). I had two options for surgery. The first one was to have my disk replaced with an artificial disk or have a spinal fusion. He told me that the disk replacement would be the better choice in my situation but my insurance company would have to approve it. Luckily they did.I had a second opinion before surgery and they agreed that I need to have it. My surgery was on June 18th 2019 and it literally is the best health decision I ever made. I walked the day of my surgery to my pharmacy to get my medicine. I received a check up call from one of the nurses in his practice. I literally felt fantastic. My pain was pretty much a zero and I wasn’t on any meds. I took three pills the first day and that was it.I decided to share my experience because I believe Dr. Thurmond is one of the top surgeons in the area. There is no reason to think your experience would be any different than mine.

MD was helpful, and started with least evasive. No surgery, epidural injections. Office staff are terrible. Called with increased cervical nerve symptoms, and was told I sounded medicated, and go to er. Spouse request FMLA paper work, charged $20 to credit card. Was informed doctor refused FMLA, for refund come to office. Once at office was given LGH billing number. LGH stated must go to office for refund, because was charged by office. Still have not received refund. Good luck.

Great doctor saved my dads life

Very good surgeon I had a surgery which I was super scared and I really thank my almighty God first, then James C Thurmond very satisfied the treatment in the hospital super in short everything was a success and Dr Vohn another doctor that I was with takes care of the organs, I personally recommend them to you💪😉🙏
